[TS] Became a Peach Saint – Chapter 3

Let’s check the time—it’s already past twelve.

Thinking back on yesterday, which was packed with so much stuff, it makes sense.

After checking the time, I scrolled through the notifications that popped up while I was asleep. There were several messages from a second-hand trading site.

“Except for a couple of expensive items, almost everything sold. Did they really sell that fast?”

I guess it’s because I listed them way cheaper than what others were offering in my impatience.

A watch for 60,000 won, a helmet with Bluetooth earphones for 200,000 won, a raincoat set for 50,000 won, and 10kg of rice for 15,000 won.

Plus, an unopened box of masks, a shaving kit, and an air fryer.

I wondered when I even managed to sell all this, so I took down the listings for random items priced under 3,000 won.

I figured I should start by handling the few items I sold through package delivery.

“Hmm, I can just pack these and send them via the convenience store’s half-price delivery service.”

I grabbed a few boxes lying around and quickly packed everything.

After roughly wiping off the sleep from my eyes, I threw on a cap and mask, finished getting ready, and headed out.

Carrying everything in one hand was tough, so I stuffed the three packed boxes into a paper bag and stepped outside.

The chilly air greeted me as soon as I stepped out.

“Ugh, it’s cold.”

Black cap, black mask.

Now, with an oversized black long puffer jacket that reaches my ankles and dragging slippers, I look like a suspicious penguin.

A small convenience store is just a 2-minute walk from my place.

─Ding!

The clear chime welcomed me as I opened the convenience store door.

“Welcome.”

“Hi, can I send half-price packages here?”

“Yes, just use the scale on that table over there to weigh them, pay, and then hand them to me.”

“Ah, thank you.”

I followed the instructions on the delivery kiosk as the male part-timer explained, and everything went smoothly without a hitch.

If it were anywhere else, the delivery fee would’ve been over 3,000 won, but thanks to the half-price service, I saved a lot.

“Here are three packages, please.”

“Sure, I’ll take care of it.”

“And, one pack of Gold, please.”

The part-timer glanced at me but didn’t say anything as he handed me a pack of cigarettes.

‘Shouldn’t they ask for ID if I look like a 21-year-old woman?’

I pulled my hand back from reaching for my ID in my wallet and finished the payment with my phone.

“Thank you, have a good day.”

“Sure, take care.”

─Ding-a-ling!

When I went in, the sound of the bell was clear and refreshing, making me feel good, but when I came out, it sounded gloomy.

With light hands and a heavy heart, I stepped out of the convenience store, greeted by the cold air that felt like it would freeze my face again.

“Phew, ha-”

I lowered my mask and took a breath of the cold air, filling my lungs with a chilling sensation.

I walked into an alley that seemed empty and lit a cigarette.

─Sizzle, sizzle.

“Ugh─ damn it, I’m a 21-year-old college girl, why aren’t you protecting me?”

I sent the package tracking number I had scanned earlier in the convenience store to three buyers.

Second-hand transactions are prone to scams due to their nature, so I mainly conduct safe transactions. It’s a three-party deal where the buyer’s money goes to the second-hand trading site, and once the buyer confirms they’ve received the item, the money is then transferred to the seller.

Therefore, to receive the payment for the item I just sent, I have to wait at least three days.

Even the fastest regular delivery takes three days, so I thought I shouldn’t rush and just wait patiently.

After finishing the cigarette, I swayed back home, and it was already almost one o’clock.

My stomach clock was ringing, and it seemed like I had to go out again because of the transaction time.

The only good thing was that, perhaps because it was the weekend, I could schedule most of the appointments around the same time.

The items in the paper bag and even the ones that weren’t enough, so I filled my backpack with them.

Carrying the backpack and the paper bag in both hands, my shoulders felt like they were splitting.

“Ugh…!”

The heavy air fryer made the handle of the paper bag dig into my fingers, causing pain as if it would break.

Still, it’s a relief that the meeting place was close to home.

Once again, I waddled in my black penguin outfit to the meeting spot.

If it were any other time, it would have been easy, but I could feel that my strength had significantly decreased.

After arriving at the meeting spot, I placed the items on the closed shop’s marble surface and waited for the people.

After a while, a message arrived asking where I was since they had arrived too.

Looking to the side, a young man glanced at me, and when our eyes met, he pretended to look elsewhere.

“Excuse me, are you here for the second-hand transaction?”

“Ah! Yes, that’s me. I’m here to buy the watch.”

Only after I spoke first did he acknowledge it.

After rummaging through the bag, I found the paper bag with the watch and handed it over.

“Here it is. Please check the item, and if it’s okay, 60,000 won will do. As you can see, it’s almost new, barely used.”

“There are hardly any scratches from daily use, so you’re practically getting it for less than half price.”

The buyer seemed to be in a daze, overwhelmed by the seller’s smooth sales pitch, as if they had been trading second-hand goods for decades.

Hypnotized by my pitch, the buyer quickly checked the item and nodded in approval.

“Could you give me your account number?”

“It’s Daemin Bank, and the account is linked to my phone number.”

The man, who had been fiddling with his phone, looked at me as if to ask if everything went well.

“It went well. Thank you.”

“Yes, thank you. I’ll make good use of it.”

As soon as one deal was done, a line of customers followed.

“This is the air fryer.”

“Yes, here it is.”

“Thank you.”

After handing over the heaviest air fryer last, I felt a sense of relief.

With the last deal done, I headed home with a lighter load and a lighter heart.

Selling something I had lying around gave me a sense of accomplishment.

Arriving home, I sat on the mattress to calm my mind.

“Phew, saang!”

Words almost burst out of my throat.

“Damn it. Sa… Status Window!”

Ding!

As the system sound chimed, the status window popped up, revealing an outcome different from what I had hoped for.

[Shop]: Inactive

“Why?”

I couldn’t understand the reason.

Was it because I didn’t have enough money, or did the money from selling second-hand items not count? The damn status window was utterly unhelpful, and Par, who should have explained, was already gone.

I had already made over 500,000 won from selling second-hand items.

“Sigh.”

After much deliberation, I finally sat down at my computer desk.

─Whirr, beep!

The loud sound of the cooler spinning and the booting noise filled the room.

I had sold everything except for one pair of panties, and now it seemed like I’d have to sell my soul too.

Moving the mouse and keyboard, the desired website appeared.

Item Exchange.

I opened a site specialized in trading game currency and searched for the game I used to play.

Helron Chronicles.

An RPG game that follows the journey of the protagonist Helron and his companions.

Like many other games, it had fallen out of popularity over time, becoming a relic of the past.

“I guess there’s nothing left to do now.”

The game that consumed my 20s. Even as it faded, it seemed to wave goodbye as the gold prices had risen significantly.

I had invested over 10 million won in the game, but now it was only worth 6 million won.

Looking at the purchase posts…

Looks like workshop users who make money by taking advantage of market price differences have posted a lot of gold purchase threads.

Even though selling to regular users is more expensive, at this point, it’s just a waste of time.

With a few clicks, the trade is done quickly.

“Goodbye, my memories… Huh? Why am I crying?”

My eyes are getting moist.

As soon as the trade is completed, the money from selling memories comes in as points.

Then, transferring the points to cash completes the deal perfectly.

Ding!

A message about cash being deposited into the account pops up, along with a system notification and a hologram in the shape of a letter.

“Oh…! Ooh!”

It’s finally here.

As I lightly touch the letter icon, a letter pops out from the envelope.

Ding!

Another system sound rings, and words float in front of my eyes.

[Shop System Unlocked]

“Hooray!!”

My heart is pounding.

“Status Window!”

Ding!

A window pops up with the system sound.
