Chapter 74
Chapter 074 The Virgin Strike
Hao Nan’s answer left a silence on the communicator that stretched for nearly half a minute.
Finally, it was the Fatty who broke the silence: “Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong? Virgin urine?!”
“Yeah, I was surprised too, but that’s what it says, what can I do?” Hao Nan was just as conflicted.
“It’s not like virgin urine is generally used to deal with zombies, right?” Wen couldn’t help but chime in, “Isn’t this one of those old zombie movie tropes? But what does this have to do with a malevolent ghost?”
Hao Nan was even more conflicted: “Let me read what it says — the Qing Gui, generally formed from the resentment of a lustful woman, has a strong malice toward men and enjoys harvesting their souls for fun. Weakness: virgin urine. Its virgin yang energy can burn the Qing Gui.”
Wen was stunned: “Is this for real?”
“Who knows? Why don’t you give it a try?” Hao Nan encouraged.
“Get lost,” Wen brushed him off, “So what does virgin urine do? Can it break the situation or actually kill that ghost?”
“No idea, it doesn’t say,” Hao Nan said helplessly.
Fatty thought for a moment and then clapped his hands: “Alright, trying it could be worth it—didn’t this game base it on real physical conditions? So… who still has their virginity?”
Silence filled the room for ten seconds.
“…Please don’t,” Fatty’s tone suddenly turned strange, “Wen, did you graduate?”
Wen flushed and coughed: “It’s a long story, it was a rainy night in high school…”
Fatty: “…What about Hao Nan?”
“I have a girlfriend.” Hao Nan answered instantly.
Wen added for good measure, “He just spent the weekend with his girlfriend.”
Fatty’s expression became even more tortured: “Ok, ok, all is well. What about Old Ling… oh right, never mind.”
Ling Mo, who had been observing the whole time: “…”
Actually, he hadn’t graduated yet.
But glancing at Xia Xinyan, who seemed utterly oblivious, he chose to remain silent.
This wasn’t exactly something to flaunt about.
“So I’m the only one who hasn’t graduated?” Fatty’s tone grew increasingly self-deprecating, “Damn, does this game just forcefully dig up people’s scars?”
Wen laughed: “Then why don’t you go find someone?”
“Why don’t you become a billionaire?” Fatty shot back.
Wen fell silent.
Ling Mo cleared his throat and said, “So… are you starting now? Or do you need some time to think?”
“…No, I didn’t say I’m going to urinate at random, did I? I mean, this isn’t very civilized for a model youth of the new century.” Fatty was getting more distressed, “Can this game really do that?”
During their previous dungeons, they had certain physiological needs, like eating and sleeping, but there was no need to relieve themselves, and they didn’t feel the urge either.
That made sense; after all, doing such things in a game would feel a bit odd.
Just like Ling Mo had suspected, quite a few players were beginning to question the limits of this game, but it seemed their imaginations fell far short of reality.
“Why not give it a shot? Since they already mentioned the weakness, they wouldn’t leave us without conditions—unless you think there’s a bottle of virgin urine tea hidden in some corner of this room?” Hao Nan started to provoke, “And right now we don’t have any other options, we’re totally cornered; we might as well try jumping over the wall.”
Fatty fell into a moment of silence, seemingly engaged in a fierce mental struggle, before finally making what seemed to be a difficult decision, solemnly stating: “Fine, I’ll try it, damn it, let’s do this.”
He paused and asked, “Are you sure virgin urine works? Am I supposed to aim it at that ghost’s face or something? Should I find something to collect it in?”
“…Just do whatever, I heard as long as it’s in her territory, it’ll work.” Hao Nan said, his tone a bit strange, “Somehow, I feel like this dungeon is going off the rails.”
“That it is… Whatever, I’m going all out; Wen, don’t look, turn around.”
“Don’t worry, I definitely won’t look, just let me know when you’re done.”
On the other side, Ling Mo listened to their discussion, feeling a bit perplexed: “So this game actually supports this kind of action?”
Xia Xinyan didn’t find it odd at all: “This game is promoted as a second world, so anything possible in the real world should be doable here too… but generally, games won’t give out such disturbing quests…”
So she had a suspicion in her mind.
But due to her own morbid curiosity, she didn’t remind anyone else. Anyway, if something went wrong, it would be Fatty and the others who suffered; Fatty had one last life guaranteed, so he could definitely give it a shot.
If they could gain some useful information or make progress in the dungeon, it would be worth it.
Fatty moved quickly.
And indeed, it produced results.
The first piece of information Ling Mo and the others received didn’t come from the communicator but from the sudden change in the surrounding environment — the entire room grew extremely cold, and the flashlight flickered like it was in a nightclub.
Then Hao Nan’s voice came through: “It’s reacting!! Activity level at 10! Activity Trace… What the hell! The entire map is filled with Activity Traces? Is it a bug?! Wen, do you have anything happening on your end?!”
“I finished peeing! Damn, it’s freezing my balls—did that female ghost come?! So, we really guessed right? Is it a Qing Gui?!” Fatty’s voice was filled with excitement, possibly from the thrill of breaking his vow for the first time in two decades, “Come on, Barbara Johnson! Show yourself! Feel Daddy’s Virgin Strike!!”
“You… dare… to do this!! I will kill you!!” The furious voice responding to him suddenly erupted from the Spirit Communication Device.
And it wasn’t just from Fatty’s device; Ling Mo, Xia Xinyan, and Hao Nan’s devices, too, received this message, as if it was a broadcast across the entire map, sending a hunting order to everyone.
This made the momentum Fatty had just built up stall: “…Is this a reaction to the weakness strike?”
“No…” Hao Nan’s tone gradually turned chilling, “I think… we guessed wrong.”
As soon as he said that, screams came from Fatty and Wen’s end: “Crap! She’s here, she’s here! Run, run!”
Fatty’s cries followed: “What the hell!! A wrong guess leads to an instant fatal blow?! Is it supposed to be this cruel?!”
Ling Mo finally couldn’t help but scoff: “You went and peed in someone else’s house, how could they not be mad?”
Because of Fatty’s actions, they all found themselves in deadly danger.
From the sounds, it seemed the female ghost had appeared near Fatty, but…
Ling Mo wanted to convince himself that the white-dressed female ghost suddenly appearing in front of them was just their illusion.
But…
“Ahhhhhh!!! Damn it, she’s coming for me!!!” Hao Nan’s scream erupted, “Help! Help! I’m blocked at the door!!!”
Almost simultaneously, the female ghost in front of Ling Mo and Xia Xinyan let out a horrifying shriek and lunged at them.
Xia Xinyan was startled and was about to use the prepared Copper Coins against the ghost when Ling Mo, quicker on the uptake, rushed forward, punching the ghost’s face: “Get lost!!”
The Copper Coins erupted in a burst of golden light, but this time it didn’t repel the ghost; instead, the ghost, even angrier, shrieked as she plunged her hands into Ling Mo’s chest, before vanishing into mist.
Xia Xinyan rushed over anxiously: “Mo Mo! Are you alright?!”
Ling Mo frowned and fell silent for a second, then whispered, “I should have burned a paper man; the Copper Coins might not be effective now… Let’s leave here first.”
Saying that, he took Xia Xinyan’s hand once more: “I will definitely get you out. I promise.”
Xia Xinyan: “…”
Why does it feel like… she’s being whisked away?
