Chapter 105

Chapter 105 If You’re a Player, Go Up a Hundred Levels

They were quite lucky; the entrance to the fourteenth floor was still packed with those robots from earlier. However, when they saw the Fatty carrying Mr. S on his back, none of the robots opened fire.

This was enough to show that these robots were smart enough; at least they understood risk assessment and wouldn’t shoot aimlessly. Let’s be real, given Fatty’s weight, Mr. S couldn’t possibly hide him; the meat spilling out on both sides was at least as thick as two arms combined. If they had shot impulsively upon seeing them, they’d probably end up shooting Mr. S with a spray and pray technique.

Fatty certainly didn’t expect this twist of luck.

“I now fully understand what it means to leverage the emperor’s authority to command the lords, how exhilarating.” Seeing those robots glaring at each other, Fatty immediately got energized. “You see this guy?! He’s your daddy! And I’m his father! If you don’t want him dead, make way for me!”

Mr. S’s face turned red: “You uncouth…”

“Save your breath!” Fatty immediately zapped him with a small arc of electricity, causing him to shudder, and then pointed his hand at the group of robots ahead. “Watch closely, your daddy’s performance!”

As soon as he finished speaking, a massive arc of electricity suddenly appeared from his hand and pierced into the robot crowd like a thunderbolt, immediately exploding in showers of sparks, and soon, those robots collapsed in groups, turning into a large pile of scrap metal.

Fatty was thrilled.

What does it matter how strong those robots are? As long as they can’t block his attack in time, he’ll take them down in three seconds flat! Burn their circuit boards to bits!

There were still a few decent-quality robots that managed to withstand his successive electric attacks, but before they could make a move, a black mist suddenly appeared behind them, swiftly condensing into a humanoid figure holding a large-caliber handgun, picking them off one by one before vanishing back into mist.

Fatty couldn’t help but smack his lips at this scene: “This dude’s abilities are quite impressive…”

He had a feeling this guy would definitely be a dangerous character in the future.

Best not to mess with him.

Taking a deep breath, Fatty continued to carry Mr. S as they made their way upstairs.

Xia Xinyan and the others trailed behind Fatty, and when he went to clear the thirteenth floor, they managed to make it to the fourteenth. Upon seeing the endless wreckage of robots at the entrance, Bai Yu couldn’t help but mutter, “So Daylight’s abilities are really that strong?”

Ling Mo frowned slightly but didn’t say anything.

Watching his former friend shine in front of him only fueled Ling Mo’s competitive spirit.

More importantly, Fatty was showcasing his power right before Xia Xinyan.

Who doesn’t want to show their strongest side in front of their girlfriend? Yet, Ling Mo knew he didn’t have the strength to compete right now, and here was Fatty, slaughtering with ease. If it were a stranger, it’d be fine, but this was his high school buddy – that only added to Ling Mo’s pressure.

He needed to get stronger.

The thought grew more fervent in his heart.

Xia Xinyan didn’t think Fatty’s display was that impressive; although it was visually striking, she knew better than to be fooled. He simply got lucky against a foe that happened to be weak to his abilities. If he faced humans, especially those who had enhanced their bodies to match, Fatty wouldn’t find it so easy.

But noticing Ling Mo’s expression, Xia Xinyan held her tongue.

If this could give him some motivation, she’d welcome it.

Fatty and Morning Light moved quickly.

Before long, the two of them cut through to the fourth underground level, only to hit a dead end.

The first three levels underground were all warehouses belonging to the upper structures of the Divine Dragon Building. To clarify, the Underground Research Base was distinctly separate from the building above, with the only connection being the main elevator of the four buildings.

Not even a fire escape was left.

“Damn, not even a fire exit, how did this building pass safety inspection?” Fatty grumbled.

Morning Light just smiled: “After all, it’s just a game; it can’t be all about realism.”

“So, how do we get up?” Bai Yu asked.

“Go back the way we came?” Xia Xinyan chimed in, “The top three levels must be swarming with enemies now, and they might even be regular soldiers or police… Trying to kill our way up smoothly seems unlikely. We’re not familiar with the other three buildings, but we do know a bit about the one we came from. Plus, didn’t we leave a tank up there? Maybe we can use that tank to bust out.”

“But didn’t the elevator blow up?” Fei Fei frowned.

Xia Xinyan smiled: “But the elevator shaft is still there.”

She had checked the elevator shaft after escaping when the elevator mishap occurred; there was a ladder that could be used to climb back up.

After some thought, everyone agreed with Xia Xinyan’s plan, since there were no better options.

Fortunately, Ling Mo had taken a floor plan photo of the fifteenth floor previously. Though the floors were different, the general layout was similar, allowing them to easily locate the elevator shaft.

At this point, the elevator doors were still wide open. When Bai Yu had opened them earlier, to prevent the security system from closing them back down, he had overloaded the intrusion circuit. Now they didn’t have to worry about any other issues.

At this stage, keeping Mr. S around didn’t serve much purpose. However, they weren’t going to finish him off either; he seemed to be the designated villain, and the poor kid had already suffered enough at Fatty’s hands. So, Fatty simply knocked him out with a zap and left him there.

As Ling Mo left, he seemed to notice Mr. S had wet his pants.

This Fatty’s abilities…

Tch.

The elevator shaft wasn’t very spacious; they could only go up one by one, with Xia Xinyan taking the lead this time, while Ling Mo followed closely behind. Originally, Xia Xinyan intended to climb straight to the ground level, but just as they reached the third underground level, an explosion suddenly erupted from the elevator entrance above, destroying the elevator entrance while also severing the staircase to the level above.

Xia Xinyan: “…”

Well, forcing them to visit all floors, huh?

If you’re a player, go up a hundred levels.

Feeling a surge of frustration, Xia Xinyan leapt into the third underground level, and immediately faced a group of soldiers with their guns aimed at her.

Gunfire erupted simultaneously.

However, Xia Xinyan’s speed was even faster.

At the very moment they pulled the triggers, she propelled herself off the wall and leaped straight into the crowd, her tail whipping around, commencing a slaughter spree.

Against these lackeys who were far weaker than her, the weakness from their lack of strength didn’t affect her, but the speed advantage turned into her killer move, making it nearly impossible for these people to even aim at her, like sheep entering a tiger’s den… no, more like a tiger bursting into a sheep pen, unstoppable.

Ling Mo, trailing behind, was once again dumbfounded.

That agile figure darting through the crowd, each movement seemingly taking a life, yet without the embellishment of blood and corpses, left no sense of terror or coldness. Instead, it was simply an indescribable sensation of awe and thrill.

He couldn’t help but become entranced.
