Chapter 301

The James Space Station, which had turned into a jungle due to the Green Moon.

A structure holding remnants of the once unprecedentedly massive James Space Station was lodged in the heart of the jungle.

It was part of the control room, the core of the James Space Station.

With a portion of the space station’s white outer wall intact and embedded in the ground, it oddly resembled a research facility created in the jungle.

Inside that control room, a man was fiddling with the control console here and there.

“Damn it, damn it.”

The CCTV showcasing the outside of the control room displayed the gruesomely torn bodies of his colleagues.

They had bravely ventured outside in search of food and water in the jungle, but now they lay as corpses.

The creatures that had brutally killed his colleagues were dinosaurs that seemed to have jumped right out of a movie.

They resembled the well-known ‘Velociraptor.’

Unlike real velociraptors, they lacked feathers and were gigantic, about the size of a person—’fakes.’

They looked just like they had come straight out of a film.

Those fake velociraptors had launched an all-out assault on the colleagues who had emerged from the control room, killing them before disappearing without a trace.

“Where are they? Where the hell are they?!”

As the man muttered and manipulated the console, the CCTV screen whirled around, scanning the surroundings of the control room.

Creeeak.

With the sound of the motor running, he rotated the CCTV in various directions, but the velociraptors that had been lurking nearby were nowhere to be seen.

The only raptor in sight was a corpse of one that had been shot by his colleagues.

“Senior, stop it. It seems like…they’ve all left.”

His junior, who had been checking the CCTV alongside him, placed a gloomy hand on the man’s shoulder.

Hoo.

Seeing the effort his junior was making to suppress his sorrow, the man briefly muttered, “I’m sorry,” and stopped checking the CCTV.

Unfortunately, one of the members of the reconnaissance team was his junior’s fiancé.

His junior forced a smile and spoke to the man.

“Since those monsters are roaming outside, everyone who wasn’t in the control room must be dead, right?”

Choosing a relatively bright topic, but it didn’t seem so bright after all.

“Well, maybe a few might still be alive.”

The man answered as positively as he could, but deep down, he firmly believed that they couldn’t have survived.

Given that the control room was a safe zone created in anticipation of an object incident in space, such thoughts were only natural.

Emergency communication antenna.

Outer walls designed for large objects.

A large number of CCTVs installed for monitoring objects.

And finally, emergency power facilities that could be utilized in space using objects.

Even with such abundant facilities, the control room was merely waiting and enduring for rescue, meaning the odds were high that the staff in other locations had perished.

At that moment, he heard his junior swallow hard.

“Senior, Senior! Check the CCTV screen!”

Turning his head to look at the screen due to the urgent voice, his junior’s fiancé could be seen faintly moving at the edge of the CCTV screen.

His chest, reflected on the screen, was slowly rising and falling, as if breathing.

“It’s hard to see from this distance. Plus, I can only see his upper body.”

It was a limitation born of the CCTV’s field of vision and range.

“Quick, we need to go save him!”

The man restrained his junior, who looked as if he would bolt out at any moment, and began preparing to go outside.

Then he got up from his seat and grabbed a loaded gun with large object bullets.

“I’ll go check it out.”

His junior insisted on going out herself, but there was no point in her going if she couldn’t even move properly while supporting the injured strong man.

“There could be raptors nearby, so stay alert.”

The man pulled out his gun and walked slowly outside the control room.

He opened the door leading outside and stepped out cautiously.

The humid air was thick with the scent of blood.

Corpses were strewn all around.

‘Why did the raptors bother to leave the hunted behind?’

No matter where he turned his head, there were bodies everywhere.

‘I guess we’ll have to clean up the bodies, but I wonder if we can do a proper job with just the two of us.’

The smell of corpses and blood would surely attract other predators.

As he carefully moved towards the area captured by the CCTV, a colleague’s upper body popped out from behind the wreckage.

His chest was rising and falling, as if taking a breath.

‘Huh, is he really alive?’

He didn’t know why the velociraptors had left behind survivors, but it was an opportunity.

Turning the corner and approaching where his colleague was clearly visible, the man could only utter a desperate exclamation.

“Ha, this is like a damn movie.”

The colleague on the ground was nothing more than an upper body.

And just outside the CCTV range, a raptor was poking at that corpse.

Like a fisherman casting bait to catch fish, it seemed to understand and exploit the concept of CCTV.

‘Is this really an object phenomenon? Too smart for a wild animal.’

When the raptor’s eyes met the man’s, it appeared to smile as if it found the situation amusing.

Bang! Bang!

The man stumbled backward in an attempt to escape, firing his gun indiscriminately, but the raptor had already grasped what a gun was after one encounter.

The raptor skillfully dodged the gun’s line of fire and slipped behind an obstacle.

As the man tried to step back while laying down suppressive fire, at that moment, the raptor’s massive jaws came crashing down from above.

*

I was sitting in the Golden-Meka-Tyranno Rocket created by James, trying to contain my racing heart.

Buckle up, heart racing.

However, launching the rocket wasn’t as instantaneous as one would think; preparations seemed to take longer than expected.

‘This is boring.’

I summoned a Golden Reaper on my palm out of boredom.

The Golden Reaper popped out with a “Ta-da!” pose on my palm.

“Mom!”

Looking up at my face, it grinned widely.

While I was fiddling with the Golden Reaper’s squishy cheeks to pass the time, it began to look around curiously.

“Where?”

Seeing the unfamiliar surroundings sparked its curiosity.

Then it spotted a tiny chair next to me, sat down in it, and buckled itself in.

At first, I thought there might be a miniature movie theater inside the rocket, but it turned out to be a mini seat meant for the little Reapers.

Despite just sitting, it seemed happy, swinging its legs back and forth eagerly as if it wanted to express its excitement to me.

Was it feeling like it was going on a long picnic by train?

Before I knew it, it seemed like the Golden Reaper had passed along the information to the Mini Reaper Network, as Mini Reapers began to rise up from beneath my feet.

As the seats were gradually filled, the countdown for the rocket began once all 100 seats were occupied.

“Take off!”

Along with the joyful will of the Mini Reapers, the rocket began to soar towards space.

*

The James Space Station now entirely transformed into a jungle.

A woman was hiding under a strange creature, breathing heavily.

‘Dinosaurs, out of nowhere!’

What she encountered while hiding was a gigantic Tyrannosaurus.

Or, maybe it wasn’t a Tyrannosaurus at all.

It must have been created by the powerful object “Green Moon.”

However, whether real or not, it clearly appeared to be a menacing monster.

With sharp claws and teeth, a size that could swallow a human whole.

Although the Tyrannosaurus had already left, the woman was too terrified to come out from beneath the creature.

And as time passed…

After a considerable time had gone by and darkness slowly draped over the jungle, only then could the woman finally emerge from under the strange creature.

“Thanks for hiding me.”

She smiled awkwardly and gently petted the strange creature.

“Mingming!”

Looking up at the sky while feeling the warmth of the creature, she saw the alien green moon glowing brightly above.

The powerful object “Green Moon.”

Being a special object, there was probably nothing the American Object Association could do.

In the worst-case scenario, the chances of being able to send a rescue team were minimal.

There was only one remaining hope.

‘It would be nice if the Gray Reaper came to visit…’

‘Then the Golden Reapers would probably come visit too, right?’

With a little hope in her heart, she smiled inwardly, while the strange creature Mingming weakly bit her arm.

“Ming!”

It was quite a dire situation, but the creature’s actions made her chuckle a bit.

It was as if it was reading her thoughts and reminding her not to be distracted by another child.

*

Looking up revealed an endless cluster of stars.

Looking down, she saw the distant yet large Earth.

With nowhere to set foot, just floating in the void, it gave her a tickling sensation inside for the first time in ages.

It was a slight thrill she hadn’t felt since gaining immunity to physics and ghosting.

Hehe.

Just this ticklish feeling made it worthwhile to be in space.

Behind her was the Golden-Meka-Tyranno Rocket that had brought them near the space station.

That rocket probably had the goal of docking at the station, but for some unknown reason, it had stopped functioning near it.

And in the backdrop of that Golden-Meka-Tyranno Rocket, the Golden Reapers frolicked in the vastness of space.

Struggling to maintain proper posture, swirling around.

As they pushed and pulled each other while playing, it was difficult to take my eyes off them.

They seemed to be a lot like those kids who almost become space strays if you took your eyes off them for a moment.

I felt a bit drowsy, perhaps from being far from the ground, while the Golden Reapers looked a little intoxicated, as if they had been drinking.

The other Mini Reapers glued to me had sleepy expressions, while the Golden Reapers appeared full of life.

Maybe it was because they were basking in sunlight?

“Let’s go!”

Gathering the busy Golden Reapers who were floating around, I conveyed my intent.

The destination was the space station right in front of us!

At the center of the station lay the gigantic Green Moon.
