Chapter 187

They decided to create inevitability and timing. As the ‘protagonist’ of this novel. I did too good of a job playing the role of the adopted daughter.

Sirson screamed.

“What on earth is your identity!”

An unidentified knight and a woman with an unknown background had taken over the 6th Magic Tower. Sirson knelt, filled with binding tools that restrained mana.

A platinum-haired beauty stood before Sirson.

“What do you want to know my identity for?”

Heron stepped back, just observing Aselda’s actions. It was his expression of respect for the powerful force she had shown in the siege.

“What grudge do you hold against me?”

He shouted back at Heron. “Duke Heron, have you gone mad?”

And he yelled toward Salmon, who was hiding behind Hixson. “Duke Salmon, what the hell is going on here!”

Salmon whistled innocently, not wanting to get involved in this situation. I didn’t want unnecessary fallout.

Looking at my wife, she appeared to be quite angry.

The only person Duke Salmon feared.

It was his wife, Aselda.

‘Play it cool.’

He whistled harder and hid behind Hixson. Hixson could only laugh in disbelief.

“Do you really think that’s going to hide your size?”

“Anyway, please hide me a bit.”

In truth, he hadn’t expected his wife to burst in like this. Aselda, from the Western Continent, had previously shown little interest in the affairs of the Central Continent.

And yet, here she was, rushing in.

Aselda spoke.

“I don’t care about the continent’s affairs.”

What they were doing was of no concern to her. “But you should have at least kept my baby’s face unscathed. You’ve marred that cute face.”

Hixson gaped. Goodness, calling this hulking man cute was an unimaginable perspective for him.

Yet there was another friend with an even stranger perspective. “I think I’m cuter.”

The speaker was none other than the muscular Kaiser with his red hair. The intimidating Kaiser seemed reluctant to admit that Salmon was cuter than he.

“Right, Hixson? Am I not cuter?”

“Neither of you is cute.”

Aselda continued. “Our cute little one sent me a letter.”

Aselda glanced back with a light wink, and Salmon, whistling, waved his right hand awkwardly.

“But who is Paila? I heard there’s an Iron-Blooded Saint who planned all this?”

Viola replied. “This world really does have something called God’s Will.”

In the meantime, the White Dragon Paila began to regain her original form. Contrary to the records of history, her scales were not a brilliant silver.

Rather, they were closer to a dull gray. She began to change into a form resembling a massive serpent rather than a dragon.

It seemed like, in gaining a life nearing eternity, she had to forsake everything else.

“God wanted me to kill you.”

That was the content described in the shadow of Bellatu. “Viola personally killed the White Dragon Paila.”

At this point, Viola, too, was quite worn out. This was also narrated in the novel.

“If things had gone as they should, Viola would have been killed by Paila.”

However, Viola turned the impossible into the possible. As a protagonist of the novel, it was a result of ‘coincidence’, ‘fate’, and ‘luck’ added together.

“The reason Viola could kill Paila was that she drank Potion Viola.”

In the original narrative, Viola drinks Potion Viola in the middle of the story. But the current Viola had already consumed Potion Viola. During the banquet, she had downed it in front of her family.

“Viola had an unusual constitution that Potion Viola didn’t affect.”

“What do you think will happen if you write Viola in the Western Continent’s language?”

The gigantic serpent-like form of Paila was enormous. It seemed to exceed 10 meters in height.

Her red eyes fixed on Viola. “Is that really important right now?”

Paila decided to swallow Viola whole along with the mask of the Empress. This way, she could somewhat maintain the ‘immovable’ trait that was leaking out now. Her body began to approach slowly. No, despite her quick movements, her size made her seem relatively slow.

“It is important. When read in the Western Continent’s language, Viola becomes Paila.”

Water Mage Rael. She created Potion Viola.

“The Water Mage wanted to kill people. It had been a long-held dream.”

If she hadn’t died early, she might have truly killed many people. After feeling her own death approaching, she made Potion Viola with the help of Spirit King Wail.

And she handed it over to Heron. “If you drink this, you’ll die too.”

“My lonely one. Let’s go to a warm place together.”

“If we die together, it hurts less.”

The White Dragon Paila began to wrap around and constrict Viola’s body.

“She thought she couldn’t kill many people by herself. Time was not on her side. So she thought.

If she killed someone who had consumed many lives, that would do.”

That was Potion ‘Viola’. The Water Mage truly intended to kill not ‘Duke Heron’ but the White Dragon ‘Paila’.

Paila opened her mouth wide and swallowed Viola’s body.

“Viola!”

“Princess!”

Pongpong and Tundra shouted urgently. Yet Viola, swallowed by Paila, did not panic. “Potion Viola was meant to kill the White Dragon Paila.”

The Water Mage handed the potion to Heron. She was confident that he wouldn’t die from drinking it.

“If Paila drinks the blood of someone who has consumed that potion.”

Viola cut her palm with a dagger. Blood dripped from her hand. “The White Dragon Paila will die.”

In the original, Viola receives a severe wound from Paila’s fang. At that moment, Viola loses a lot of blood, and Paila becomes addicted to ‘Potion Viola’ and disintegrates.

“That’s God’s Will.”

Settings often have powerful coercive forces. Viola’s blood touched Paila’s tongue.

Blood flowed down, entering Paila’s esophagus.

“Uweeeek!”

Paila struggled to vomit Viola, but Viola held onto her fangs and remained in her mouth. ‘Just a little more.’

Deliberately, she let more blood flow out. Viola said.

“Sorry but, I’ve won.”

The enormous serpent’s body bulged here and there. It felt like something was exploding from within.

“It’s going to hurt quite a bit.”

The former Water Spirit King ‘Wail’ realized what Potion Viola was and ultimately betrayed Rael. She unilaterally terminated their contract and returned to the Spirit Realm.

As a result, Wail lost much power and would no longer be able to contract with anyone.

Thanks to the pure spirit power of the Water Spirit King, Rael was kept alive but ended up dying earlier than scheduled.

Before long, Tundra, released from the restraints, swung his great sword.

His eyes were bloodshot. “How dare you touch my princess!”

He was genuinely angry. His eyes turned golden. It was the ‘golden eyes’ mentioned in the author’s setting book, though it wasn’t referenced in the shadow of Bellatu.

Among all special eyes, it possessed the highest power, capable of carrying out God’s Will or, conversely, destroying it, thus executing tremendous miracles.

Powerful mana imbued his sword. The great sword created multiple razor-thin lines. “Aaaargh!”

The White Dragon Paila, having lived for thousands of years, could not withstand Tundra’s sword. Where Tundra’s sword passed quickly became a thoroughfare and then nothingness.

Along the path of his sword, the massive serpent sliced into multiple parts. Swoosh-!

Everywhere his blade touched turned to mist and vanished. Supported by Pongpong, Viola landed on the ground and stared blankly at Tundra.

‘Not tired?’

The current Tundra couldn’t be considered exhausted. Tundra was now a dancer practicing sword dance.

His swordsmanship was powerful to the point of being miraculous. The time it took for the White Dragon Paila to completely vanish was merely a little over 10 seconds.

The White Dragon had completely disintegrated.

Viola could only stare speechlessly at the golden-eyed Tundra.

In that moment, she felt she understood his swordsmanship.

“And above this lies the realm of ‘Annihilation’. A state where one eliminates the existence of an opponent, and further cuts through the world itself.”

In the latter part of the work, Tundra, who loved Viola, dies by allowing himself to be stabbed by a sword as a tragedy befitting the male protagonist of a bleak romance fantasy novel.

“If you reach that state, I will be immensely happy.”

Even as he was dying, he smiled lightly. “If that day comes, you will remember me. That would be enough for me.”

This was referenced in the late part of the work.

In other words, it meant that, in the late stages of the work, Viola had not yet reached the state of ‘Annihilation.’

Yet now, Tundra had already attained that state. ‘I feel like he doesn’t even know what he did.’

He seemed to have unconsciously dipped into the realm of annihilation out of sheer rage. ‘Being a natural genius, he could probably consciously enter the state of annihilation too.’

Pongpong hiccupped. He learned something new.

Spirits could hiccup too, it turned out.

“What am I witnessing right now?”

He hadn’t just cut down Paila. No. He had sliced through the entirety of where Paila had existed.

That place turned into a space where not even light could seep through.

He had created a perfectly empty (void) space.

To cut through the world itself exists.

Perhaps that’s what it would be like.

He had that thought. “Hehe.”

With a sword like that, he could surely obliterate Spirit Kings. “Tundra, let’s get close from now on. I actually liked you.”

Viola took a deep breath. Since she’d erased the White Dragon Paila, the ‘Sacred Ground of the Ancient Warriors’ was about to disappear as well.

But……’

An unknown ominous wind began to blow. The snowstorm had ceased, but a thick darkness descended.

The sky turned purple, and from beneath the ground, a dark red energy began to stir and seep out.

‘This is different from the original…?’

Viola sensed it. Something had gone wrong.
