Chapter 94: Crown’s Apology Visit

Chapter 94: Crown’s Apology Visit

After Hela and the others left, only Airael and her daughter Anna remained in the garden. Airael knelt beside Anna and gently helped untangle her messy hair.

Anna stared at her mother with wide eyes.

Seeing her adorable daughter, a happy smile curved on Airael’s lips.

When Anna saw Airael smile, she joined in, looking a bit silly.

This made Airael’s smile widen even more.

Maintaining her smile, Airael said to Anna, “Anna, Mommy has something to tell you.”

Anna looked at Airael with confusion.

Even though she was much more understanding now, she was still young and didn’t grasp everything.

“Did Mommy bring Daddy to see you just now?” Airael asked.

Anna slowly nodded in response.

“From now on, you should call Daddy ‘Uncle,’ until Mommy tells you to change it back, okay?”

“Okay!” Anna nodded eagerly.

Though she didn’t quite understand her mother’s reasoning, the little one was good at following instructions.

Just like before, when Airael told Anna to call Arthur ‘Uncle,’ even though she was puzzled, she did it anyway.

“You’re such a good girl, Anna.”

Anna’s compliance made Airael very happy as she affectionately patted her little head.

While this wasn’t very friendly toward Arthur, it was just temporary. Once the conditions were right, Anna would eventually call Arthur ‘Daddy.’

With satisfaction, Anna nuzzled against Airael’s palm.

After enjoying that moment, she buried her little head into Airael’s soft chest.

“Are you hungry?” Airael asked, looking at her daughter.

Then she opened her top to let Anna feed.

Upon seeing the food, Anna instantly opened her little mouth and began munching away.

Her delicate face was now filled with satisfaction.

Meanwhile, on the side of Arthur.

After parting ways with Celia, Arthur strolled through the commercial street of Elven Royal City, glancing at the shops lining the sides of the street.

Eventually, he stopped at a jewelry store he had visited not long ago.

Arthur looked up at the sign of the jewelry store and stepped inside.

After some time, Arthur exited the jewelry store with a beautifully wrapped box in hand, waved off by the shop owner.

Stepping out, he glanced up at the sky and noticed it was getting late.

It might be too late to give a gift to Airael now, Arthur thought.

With that in mind, he headed toward the inn where he was staying.

Upon returning to the inn, he found someone waiting for him.

That person was none other than Crown.

His injuries seemed to have healed up well, showing only some fatigue.

This made Arthur marvel at the impressive healing abilities of the Elven Race.

Although he had intentionally held back during the fight and avoided vital areas, it was still a miracle that Crown could recover so much in such a short time.

“I’ve been waiting for you for a long time, Axi,” Crown said, standing up as Arthur returned.

“Do you need something?” Arthur asked, his initial surprise fading as he gazed at him.

“This isn’t the place for a discussion. Let’s talk in your room,” Crown said, glancing around.

Arthur did a quick lookout too and nodded, “Follow me.”

Crown followed Arthur into his room.

Once inside, they sat across from each other on the sofa.

Looking at Crown, Arthur got straight to the point, “So, why did you come looking for me?”

“I have something to ask you,” Crown replied seriously.

“What is it?” Arthur continued his inquiry.

“What did you mean by what you said to me earlier today?” Crown asked, looking intently at Arthur.

He had pondered this question all day long.

At such a moment, he felt that Arthur wouldn’t say something like that without reason.

If that’s the case, then it meant there was something deeper involved.

And Arthur himself knew it.

Arthur’s face first showed surprise, then he contemplatively recalled what had happened in the morning.

Seeing Arthur deep in thought, Crown patiently awaited an answer.

After quite a while, Crown asked, “Did you remember?”

“Sorry, I experienced a lot this afternoon, so my brain couldn’t keep up with everything,” Arthur apologized, looking at Crown.

“You don’t need to worry about that,” Crown shook his head.

What he truly cared about was the outcome.

Although Crown did not explicitly say it, he believed Arthur would understand.

Arthur then added, “What I told you this morning was indeed literal.”

“Can you explain it to me in detail?” Crown asked.

He truly couldn’t wrap his head around it, which is why he sought out Arthur.

“Sorry, I can’t,” Arthur shook his head to refuse.

Even though he wanted to reveal some matters quickly, it was clear that now was not the right time.

“Is there a deeper reason for it?” Crown wasn’t keen on giving up, trying to extract more information from Arthur.

“You could understand it that way,” Arthur nodded.

If possible, he didn’t want too many conflicts with Crown.

Crown was the prince of Nick Kingdom and would one day inherit it.

Even if they might be enemies later on, it was best to maintain a good relationship for now.

“I understand. Thank you, Axi,” Crown said lightly nodding, then stood up and bowed to Arthur.

Arthur maintained a calm expression as he watched him.

After thanking Arthur, Crown continued, “If that’s the case, then I apologize for my previous behavior. I’m sorry, Axi; I was misled by some rumors and wrongfully accused you.”

Crown’s sincerity was evident.

Arthur was taken aback.

He did not expect Crown to go this far.

Coming back to himself from his shock, Arthur replied, “Crown, I accept your apology. In the future, the truth will prove everything.”

“I’m looking forward to that day,” Crown smiled.

“That day shouldn’t be too far off,” Arthur smiled back.

The two exchanged a smile, fully resolving their earlier misunderstandings.

Shortly after, Crown took his leave, and Arthur escorted him out of the inn.

Once back, Arthur sat on the sofa, gazing at the gift he prepared for Airael.

He silently prayed that Airael wouldn’t dislike the gift he had chosen.
