“Unfold, Enok.”
Then, light emanated from the dusty book, allowing the previously unopenable book to be opened. To use this effect, others had to be protected first.
“Lorcha, please protect the nobles. They’re already so fat and fragile, so do it as quickly as possible.”
“Sigh… Got it.”
Lorcha walked to the center of the group of nobles, clasped her hands together.
“Spirit of Water, divide this place where I stand from the mortal world.”
A massive dome-shaped water barrier enclosed Lorcha and the nobles. In this case, it served as a protective shield, but Airi was protecting the Crown Prince, and Lorcha was busy maintaining the spell, so I had to deal with those Black Round Table bastards. With this Magic Book Enok.
Magic Book Enok, a relic used by Werner in <Dragnity Fantasy 1>. Its effect was simple.
“Page 65, unfold the chapter of darkness.”
The book flipped open, revealing a page emitting a dark aura. At the same time, the Black Round Table lackeys charged toward me.
“Arrows of dawn, overturn the earth and feast now.”
Black circles formed on the ceiling, shooting out black arrows. The arrows embedded in Lorcha’s water barrier melted away like ink, but the ones stuck in the Black Round Table lackeys did not.
They melted like ink, coating their bodies, and began devouring them like piranhas. No matter how they struggled, the arrows wouldn’t come out. Deeply rooted, there was no way to remove them.
‘Devouring Arrows of Dawn.’
A lethal Great Magic used by Werner, and the first Great Magic he ever created. Designed to target only living beings, it gnaws at their bones and flesh. For a Great Magic, its firepower was lacking, and it could be blocked with magic, but for a first attempt, its power was impressive.
“Werner, you… Great Magic…”
This guy really hung a banner saying I couldn’t use Great Magic. What am I supposed to do when he says that in front of so many people?
“Shh, isn’t it weird that I can’t use the Great Magic I created?”
Enok’s effect was the shortening of incantations and the conservation of mana for magic use. The downside was that the stored magic disappeared after one use and had to be re-inscribed. But inside, Werner had stored various Great Magics and dangerous spells. Not only that, but various dangerous entities were also sealed within.
Even though inscribing magic required mana and pre-memorized incantations… the advantage of being able to use them immediately on the battlefield was significant. Especially for Great Magics with ridiculously long incantations, the mana required was no joke.
In other words, it was a relic that allowed you to pay the cost upfront and reap the benefits later.
“Which magic should I use next? Light? Lightning? Earth? Ice? What do you prefer? I’ll send you to the afterlife as you wish.”
Since it’s a one-time use, I should conserve the spells inscribed here, but honestly, even the Great Magics Werner created as a child weren’t very efficient. Many were weaker than the standard magics he developed later.
In other words, this was a bluff. A bluff that I could annihilate you guys anytime.
Falling for my bluff, they visibly started to panic. They gave up on attacking me and tried to get inside the water barrier. Not realizing how foolish that was.
“I recommend not touching that.”
Despite her warning, they jumped into the water barrier and were torn apart by the immense water pressure. Hmm, should I have hamburger steak for dinner? Seeing all that minced meat made me crave it.
“Water Attribute Magic is clumsy in attack… lacks a decisive blow… too wide a range for attack, consumes too much mana… absolutely cannot be used for defense… all the nonsense I’ve heard.”
Lorcha was a master of Water Attribute Magic and the owner of the Water Tower. She wasn’t some amateur using clumsy Water Attribute Magic. Water Attribute Magic wasn’t just about tsunamis or floods.
“This high-pressure, violently rotating dome, a magic of both offense and defense, is what Water Attribute Magic is all about! Those toothless bastards in the Sorcerer Community should see this!”
It seemed she had a lot built up. The long history of humiliation and oppression toward Water Attribute Magic, now it’s time to throw it off and return as the Aqua Master, Lorcha.
“If you think you can break through my defense, come at me. Though you’ll end up minced like meat.”
I, Werner, the strongest spear with Enok in hand.
And Lorcha, the strongest shield.
With the strongest spear and shield, what is there to fear? The nobles are protected by Lorcha, and the Crown Prince is protected by Airi. The only thing to worry about is… wait, there’s a traitor among the nobles…
“Lorcha! There’s a traitor among the nobles, be careful…!”
Then, some of the noble bastards stood up. Ah, looking at their rough faces, they just changed clothes. They pulled out daggers and charged at Lorcha. Damn, I can’t rush in, and Lorcha doesn’t have the means to deal with them…
“Water, become a bullet.”
A transparent something shot from Lorcha’s fingertip, piercing one of their heads.
“Did you think my attacks were nothing? Too bad. A high-pressure water jet is fast and has no problem piercing a human head. You don’t need grand techniques to kill someone.”
I completely agreed with that. You don’t need a massive steel sword to kill someone, a bullet-sized piece of lead is enough. What matters is how you wield it.
“…It doesn’t matter! If we attack from multiple directions, you can’t kill us all!”
“Assaulting a lady is barbaric. I’ll punish you.”
Those barbaric Black Round Table bastards charged at Lorcha with knives. Clearly, she couldn’t continuously cast spells like before, how was she going to handle this…
“Water, become a sword to sever the wicked.”
Lorcha swung her finger, and the barbaric Black Round Table bastards were split in half. What? An instant death cheat? The cuts were too clean to be from a sword. Could it be…
“Shooting high-pressure water while swinging makes a pretty good sword. It can cut through steel, you know?”
Damn, it was a water jet cutter. A water jet cutter that can cut diamonds would slice through human bodies like tofu. I’ll be careful with Lorcha’s fingers. Using Water Attribute Magic of that level without water… I should make sure Lorcha doesn’t get twisted and start researching necromancy later.
But a problem arose. While focusing on Lorcha, I allowed one Black Round Table bastard to get too close. It was too close to use magic. But there was no need to worry too much. This Magic Book Enok was a relic that could be used even in such situations.
“You insolent fool!!!”
I smashed the bastard’s head with Magic Book Enok. Whether I hit the crown properly or not, he collapsed, blood spurting from his nose and mouth. Do you know why a magic book is a weapon? Because you can kill people with it.
And this Enok guy, quite sturdy and light, was easy to swing. Especially hitting vital points with the edge, sending someone to meet the King of Hell was a piece of cake.
“Now, where’s the next insolent fool?”
The unfaithful shall be punished by Werner, the 14th disciple of Jesus. This Magic Book Enok is my bible, proof that God is with me.
“Page 121, unfold the chapter of freezing.”
Enok flipped to the page on its own. A frost-covered page appeared. This might be quite useful. Grateful for the shortened incantation, I chanted the spell, staring straight at the Black Round Table trash.
“Spirits of Frost, grant the time of bitter cold to all I behold.”
Everything within my sight began to freeze. The Black Round Table bastards, the walls, and the floor.
‘Winter in the Eyes.’
One of the Great Magics developed by Werner, its range was the entire field of vision of the caster. It combined Light Attribute Magic, which overlays mana on what the pupils see, and Ice Attribute Magic, which freezes everything the mana touches.
Thanks to this, dozens could be turned into frozen chicken in an instant, but something felt off. The Black Round Table bastards would surely bring at least one executive… but that executive was nowhere to be seen.
