Chapter 92: Airael is Angry
“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t even know what to give Anna. No, I’m afraid I wouldn’t even think about gifting at all.”
Arthur’s face showed a bitter smile as he spoke.
He really wasn’t into these kinds of things.
After hearing Arthur’s words, Airael looked at him in surprise and said, “I didn’t expect you to be so self-aware. But there’s no need to thank me for this. A good gift is one that the recipient likes. If they don’t like it, it becomes quite awkward.
While helping you, I’m also helping Anna.”
Again, a bitter smile appeared on Arthur’s face as he said to Airael, “Anyway, thank you.”
“Well, if you insist on thanking me, what will you give me in return?”
Seeing Arthur being so stubborn, Airael asked him.
Arthur furrowed his brows, deep in thought.
How should he thank Airael?
Take her out for fun? Treat her to something delicious?
Those didn’t seem like much at all.
“Since you can’t think of anything, let me give you a hint.”
Airael shook her head, feeling quite helpless.
It was clear this was not something to expect Arthur to come up with on his own.
Arthur’s gaze fell on Airael.
Looking back at him, Airael smiled and said, “You just gave a gift to Anna, so how about giving me a gift next?”
Arthur’s eyes lit up.
“Alright! Let’s do that.”
Then Arthur began to frown and ponder what to gift Airael.
Airael maintained her smile.
Come to think of it, Arthur had never given her a gift before.
Though he previously gave Anna to her, Anna, being their daughter, couldn’t count as a regular gift.
“Airael, what gift do you think I should give you?”
After a while, Arthur, still confused, looked at Airael and asked.
Upon hearing this, Airael couldn’t help but twitch her lips.
Letting me help with Anna was one thing, but this is a gift you need to give me!
I asked for the gift, yet you still want me to tell you what to give?!
Do you really think of me just as a runner? Not thinking at all?
Arthur’s thinking was quite simple.
Since it is a gift for Airael, wouldn’t it be okay to ask her what she wants?
Airael took a deep breath, then put on a proper smile, looking at Arthur as she said, “Arthur, I can’t help you with this.”
“Why?!”
Arthur asked, puzzled.
Airael took a deep breath.
She reminded herself not to hold it against Arthur too much.
It’s strange if he doesn’t act this way.
It’s normal for such situations to occur.
“This is a test for you!”
After considering it, Airael directly said to Arthur.
“Didn’t I already pass the test before?”
Arthur was even more confused.
And it seemed like he might have upset Airael.
“This is a new test.”
Airael replied.
“If you can’t come up with a satisfactory gift for me, don’t come looking for me afterward.”
With that, Airael turned and walked away.
She decided to give Arthur a strong dose of medicine.
Arthur watched Airael leave and reached out, wanting to stop her.
But as he was about to speak, the image of Airael’s angry face flashed in his mind.
After a moment of daze, by the time he wanted to speak again, Airael had already walked far away.
In the next moment, she disappeared from his sight around a corner.
Arthur didn’t think too much and immediately gave chase.
He understood that he had truly made Airael angry earlier.
Halfway through the pursuit, Celia appeared to block Arthur’s path.
“Celia, why are you stopping me?”
Arthur asked aloud.
“Mr. Axi, Her Majesty instructed me to escort you away.”
Just moments ago, Celia received a message from Airael instructing her to take Arthur away.
Arthur looked at Celia, anxious, and said, “Celia, I can’t leave yet! I must see Airael; I have something really important to discuss with her!”
Celia frowned slightly.
She was no fool.
She could see that something was definitely wrong between Her Majesty and Mr. Axi.
This left her feeling quite conflicted.
Although she wanted to see them reconcile, she couldn’t disobey Airael’s command to keep Arthur from finding her.
After much contemplation under Arthur’s hopeful gaze, Celia finally spoke, “Her Majesty just instructed me to take you away, Mr. Axi.”
What she said sent a jolt through Arthur.
He then looked at Celia and said, “Celia, I truly have something important to discuss with Airael.”
“Mr. Axi, I hope you can understand. I am a Knight and must follow Her Majesty’s orders.”
Celia shook her head and replied.
Arthur felt a wave of disappointment wash over him.
Celia sighed and said, “Mr. Axi, please go back.”
“Mm.”
Arthur nodded slightly, following Celia’s lead.
On the other side, after leaving, Airael returned to her room.
Sitting on the sofa, her brows were furrowed in displeasure.
Even though she had pressured Arthur for a reason, she had her own complaints simmering inside.
As her anger subsided, Airael realized something with a start.
If Arthur couldn’t find a gift that he liked, then according to what she had said earlier…
Wouldn’t Arthur then not come to see her?
Initially, he might protest, but once he accepted it, he probably wouldn’t push back any longer.
Instead, he would keep searching until he found something he liked.
Imagining this scene, a worried expression crossed Airael’s face.
She had already convinced herself to accept Arthur as her spouse.
Naturally, Airael didn’t want the above to happen in her and Arthur’s relationship.
Airael began to think of ways to resolve it.
However, she couldn’t come up with a good solution right away.
She couldn’t just go and admit she was momentarily deranged, right?
That wouldn’t do; she also needed her dignity.
Meanwhile, Arthur had already arrived outside the Avalon Royal Palace, escorted by Celia.
At this point, Celia had completed the task assigned to her by Airael.
Next up was her free time.
Celia looked at Arthur and asked, “Mr. Axi, what exactly happened between you and Her Majesty?”
Her tone was filled with deep concern.
To Celia, the relationship between Her Majesty and Mr. Axi was of great importance.
“Well…”
Arthur hesitated, unsure of how to explain things to Celia.
To this, Celia spoke, “Although it may put you in a difficult position, I think it’s better if you tell me. That way, I can help you, right?”
