Chapter 92

[ seriously, I’m only posting this video of Hae-un because I can’t see it myself (cute warning) ]

(Video of Hae-un trying to grab her tail by spinning around in place)

Hae-un is over here spinning around trying to catch her tail. Isn’t she just the cutest?? hahaha

n Ahaha omg she’s so cute! Trying to grab her own tail like a kitty cat 😂😂

n Literally, hiding in embarrassment after is the best part 😂😂😂 lol no but really, I want to give her all the treats

n Why does she keep trying to grab her tail? Is she trying to go “nyaa nyaa”?

n Yea sometimes she bites it. No idea why tho

n Typically when they bite their own body parts, it’s often due to emotional distress. Maybe she has some lingering trauma?

n Aw man 😢😢😢

Han Arin smiled softly seeing the comments pile up quickly on her post.

No matter the other emotions, everyone seemed to universally agree that Hae-un was adorable.

While happily scrolling through all the cute comments about Hae-un, someone posted something rather attention-grabbing.

[I’m a dragon btw]

– Perseus keeps flooding the chat with pictures and videos of how cute Hae-un is. We’re past hundreds now and obviously it’s amazing. yep yep

Side note: The elders saw this and are going absolutely wild saying they’ll leave all their fortune to Hae-un 😂😂😂😂😂

I’m also about to throw my allowance at her 😂

n Us dragons can tolerate monopolizing lots of things but we cannot tolerate anyone monopolizing Hae-un pics and vids. Post more or I’ll poop my pants.

n Lol wth. But tbh already did 💩

n ???? Is THIS the average hunter?? So proud. Gotta go dump too

It’s somewhat childish but all these reactions come from genuinely loving Hae-un, which makes me smile.

There’s nothing better than watching the usually prickly atmosphere soften into something warm and fuzzy.

As I watched, Yuna approached from afar and offered me a small chocolate with an outstretched hand.

“Here, eat it.”

“Huh? For me?”

“Yeah, take it.”

Staring blankly at the tiny chocolate in her palm…

I chuckled softly and patted Yuna’s head affectionately.

‘Yuna is truly fascinating.’

Despite her stoic expression, her actions and words reveal an overflowing sensitivity.

That’s why whenever I quietly observe Yuna, I notice many cute moments, like…

“Cute~ Piiii-yao~ Piii~”

Squatting down to imitate Somtul’s cries with a completely straight face…

Or during dancing with Chae-a, moving intensely while maintaining her usual poker face.

This kind of behavior is so endearing that as I absentmindedly pat Yuna, she suddenly asks me something.

“I’ll protect Ha-euni. She’s little, so I need to be strong.”

The thought of a child talking about protecting another made me want to laugh, but knowing Yuna’s serious nature, I held back my laughter and asked,

“R-really? How will you get stronger?”

“By learning magic.”

“Magic?”

Caught off guard by this unexpected method, I blinked in surprise as Yuna explained.

“Using magic, I can become warm and also protect Ha-euni.”

Having been found trapped in ice originally, her desire for warmth was particularly strong.

Normally such desires would lead to talents manifesting accordingly, but…

‘Not much info on foxes, but according to Perseus, it was definitely ice.’

The fire created by foxes is said to be so cold it’s like ice itself—basically everything revolves around ice.

Recalling this, I sighed inwardly. This meant Yuna’s natural talent might be the exact opposite of what she wished for.

‘So what should I do?’

Should I tell her the truth? Or subtly guide her toward ice-based abilities?

‘Maybe it’s best to just let her be?’

Before I could figure out the right answer, Yuna, wagging her nine tails shyly, said:

“And I’ll protect Arin-ssi too.”

At that moment, any concerns about elemental compatibility vanished.

Though changing one’s fundamental nature was practically impossible, there were always tools or workarounds available. Even if she couldn’t change, her magical potential wouldn’t disappear, so there wouldn’t be any major issues.

‘Then the hardships Yuna will face…’

Deciding to preemptively address them, I nodded as Yuna continued wagging her tails.

“Understand?”

“Yeah, I trust you, Yuna.”

Yuna seemed delighted by my assurance, her eyes sparkling as she nodded before running off to squat near Hae-un and Chae-a.

Watching her go, I briefly contemplated the situation before turning my gaze to my phone.

‘Elemental conversion…’

Figuring consulting Perseus would be best, I sent him a message about it and ran my fingers through my hair.

‘It’ll work out somehow.’

Thinking back, every seemingly insurmountable obstacle had eventually been resolved, so I decided to focus on completing my current mana circulation practice before diving into research on elemental conversion.

* * * * *

After meeting Perseus the next day,

while peacefully playing, a shocking announcement came.

“Hey kids, wanna try going to academy today?”

Honestly, I’ve never attended one so have no real opinion either way, but…

Chae-a and Yuna immediately shook their heads in fear, clearly remembering the horror stories they’d heard from Jin-a.

“Hate it… Chae-a will cry…”

“Yuna doesn’t want to go…”

Seeing their reaction, Han Arin looked quite flustered, blinking rapidly before giving an awkward smile.

“If you don’t want to, we don’t have to go… But at academy, you can play and have snacks too… Really not going?”

Although technically closer to a playroom than an actual academy, given this world’s academic fervor, it seems they prefer calling it an academy instead.

‘Going might not be bad…’

But seeing how strongly they dislike it, maybe it’s unnecessary to force them…

Just as I thought this, an unexpected voice chimed in.

“Will there be fun stuff?”

“Can eat chocolate? Yuna loves chocolate!”

At the promise of fun and snacks, Yuna was instantly hooked, rushing over to Han Arin and enthusiastically agreeing to go.

Seeing this, Han Arin couldn’t help but laugh at how cute Yuna and Chae-a were being, nodding and saying,

“Alright then, let’s get ready and go. I already made a reservation so we can go right away.”

With that, the three of us eagerly nodded in agreement.

* * *

What Han Arin called an “academy” turned out to feel more like a cultural center than a traditional academy upon arrival.

I curiously looked around at the trendy surroundings while…

Chae-a whispered to me in a small voice.

“Wow, it looks like a huge playground!”

Maybe it’s the similar colors, but it does resemble a playground somewhat. Thinking this place would suit both Chae-a and Yuna well, I carefully observed it when…

Han Arin gently patted our heads and calmly spoke.

“Do whatever you want. If you need anything, just ask me, okay?”

“Okay!”

“Good. Then Chae-a, take care of your younger friends, alright?”

“Okay!”

With that, Han Arin seemed content to let us do as we pleased, waving us off from her nearby seat.

Thinking I should properly look after the little ones, I took their hands and suggested,

“Let’s go check it out?”

“Okay!”

“Good!”

In the midst of walking forward, I noticed something interesting.

[Balloon Making Class]

‘Remember, you can make all sorts of things with balloons…’

Recalling seeing balloon dog making somewhere before, I turned to Chae-a and Yuna.

“Wanna check it out?”

Chae-a stared at the sign for a moment before her eyes lit up and she quickly nodded.

“Wow, balloons! Balloons float around so cutely!”

Yuna also enthusiastically nodded, clearly liking the idea.

Thinking we should go check it out, just as we were about to enter…

A loud sigh came from beside us.

“Ugh, this is a place only for kids… Why am I even here… Hmm?”

That familiar voice turned out to be Jin-a.

Startled, I met her gaze and hesitated, but Jin-a approached us with unusually bright eyes and smiled warmly.

“Missed you!”

She who was so prickly last time is acting so friendly today…

Still unsure how to react…

Jin-a grabbed my hand and said,

“Anyway, Hae-un, you seem to get smaller every time I see you. Aren’t you growing at all?”

“…?!”

Even though I’m mature for my age, this feels kinda unfair… shaking my head to disagree…

But Chae-a, oblivious to my feelings, proudly declared,

“Yeah! Hae-un is getting smaller! Soon she’ll be as small as an ant!”

“Really? That’s impressive.”

“Hae-un is super powerful!”

Their words quickly reminded me of all the hard work I’ve been putting in nightly, leaving me feeling deflated.

Slumping in disappointment, Jin-a pointed to the nearby classroom and said,

“You guys here for this too? Great, let me show you around as an experienced attendee. Let’s go!”
