Extra Case File 90 – The Day Not Yet Come
“Oyster…”
Hearing the mumbled words of the pink-haired girl in her dream, Ash opened his eyes from the warm cocoon, his olfactory senses still picking up on the traces of their activities from the night before.
How long has it been since I haven’t had to worry about battles, to lie happily in her embrace even until waking up naturally?
Ash meticulously recalled, thinking deeply about the remaining memories that hadn’t yet faded, until he finally realized he couldn’t recall anymore.
Ah, happiness seems to be a first for me, isn’t it?
Could it be that it’s why we became so natural with each other?
“Suck… Ash… Can’t eat anymore…”
“You still know when to stop, huh?”
With not much patience, he pushed away the poorly-sleeping flower nearly mounting his head, then with a hand, pulled her slipping nightgown strap back over her shoulder, preparing for today’s routine examination.
His fingers traced the smooth white skin of Wild Flower, causing the girl in her sleep to giggle.
Spreading her chest open with his palm, the faint pink scar, remnants of Cure Yell and TIMEFIRE’s “mutual annihilation” left in their chests, was gently touched by his fingertips. Her wound, under the energy of Mirai, was slowly healing, contrasting with the fierce scar on Ash’s own chest.
“Body check… okay.”
Under Ash’s attentive care, as she struggled each day to digest special medication, lessening the burden on her body as a Pretty Cure. Her health was recovering nightly, almost焕然一新 (completely new). She would reclaim her healthy body in no time.
“Alright, next…”
Separating from the warmth beside him, he dressed quietly to avoid waking her, only to notice with her hand once again grasping his clothes just as he prepared to leave.
Carefully letting go as if holding a precious treasure, Ash walked to the window and opened Wild Flower’s curtains, finding droplets on the glass.
It’s raining.
I walk through my home, watch as the sleeping flowers and grass, kiss her slumbering face. Each step closer to that destination predetermined from the start…
“Time to go to work.”
Every time countless raindrops fall from the sky, striking my hair and clothes, I remember the stormy night of her cheers for me. That serene midnight when the raindrops softly tapped the stable roof.
Such tranquility.
At the bottom of the Wild Family home was a place originally for storage, but after Ash’s recent discussion with its owner, it had turned into a personal, underground workshop.
Activating a Max Power Engine extracted from an aircraft to power the basement, Ash faced layers of lights illuminating countless sci-fi holographic and mechanical structures. The most noticeable being a metallic robot atop the central workbench.
Clean-cut metal robot, split into red left and blue right sections, both its “Conscience Circuit” and “Combat Circuit” showed optimal conditions on the screen data!
“Traum’s given data surely is useful; it might even make me praise him.”
Using AI data called “LuLu V1.0,” Ash successfully integrated different techniques into a single robot. This culminated in the creation of this machine.
Similarly informed by Traum, Ash wasn’t going to wait around to die. At least not without doing something.
The streaming data signalled it was time. Snapping on a pure white headphone onto the robot, after seeing the sign of normal operation light up blue, Ash removed a pitch-black cylinder, then activated it.
“[SoldierAsh] (Warrior Ash).”
Placing the key on the headphone and awaiting the data transfer, he waited in silence, expecting a miracle to come.
Toiling on this robot, even while hiding from flowers and nearly working non-stop, to apply everything he knew and every bit of technology, was all for this purpose.
A self-recovery body made from special alloys was obvious, the core hardware including XenoGia’s “Technological Singularity,” Zeikdah’s “Conscience Circuit,” MetaRuda’s “Combat Circuit,” and Parson’s “Super AI” chip.
The base network originated from “Baguras’ hacker tech,” put together with the formula of “Series B Robot.” Then finishing up with stolen Chimul star folk tech, due to concern for too mono-focus mechanization, Ash utilized Bio-tech from “Yaboh People” and the “Experimental Empire Mes.” Even adding the mystic power taught by the “Great Sorceress Pandora.”
All efforts culminated in this masterpiece of creation, this robot structure.
“So close, almost there.”
Seeing his data imported into the central core of the robot, Ash felt a harvest of joy.
Not just on the energy front, the system has said my chances of death are absolute. If so, how can I abandon her in pain alone? It would be cruel to separate after finally attaining her love.
Thus, I will create an indestructible version of myself through these means! I would protect her and love her even after departure, continuing her happiness…
“Happiness…”
“Their happiness…”
Thinking of the month’s short cohabitation, those times she spent always with me, her trustful figure against my shoulder, Ash’s originally placid face began to change.
Just as the robot hit 99% completion, Ash roared, kicking it down from the workbench.
“This useless scrap can’t bring her any happiness—!”
Her happiness was with me.
“Ahhh…”
Clutching his head in a sitting position, ignoring the robot’s flickering lights as it lay on the ground, Ash cried out in anguish.
Hana… tell me what to do.
“What troubles you?”
A familiar scent approached from behind, Hana’s arms wrapping around his back, warming him.
“I’m troubled about how to make you happy.”
“Nag, I just need to be with Ash—every moment, every second, makes Hana happy.”
“Hana…”
I know you mean it.
But that’s why I’m troubled—this very fact.
