As soon as I woke up today, my leg was in so much pain. It seemed like I sprained it when I fell off the step yesterday. My leg was tingling so much that I couldn’t even walk. I was fine yesterday though…

I couldn’t move, so I had no choice but to call Bora. Bora came into the room.
“Bora…”
“What’s wrong, Hana?”
Bora saw me lying in bed and sat down next to me. Feeling Bora’s hand stroking my head, I said,
“My leg hurts so much.”
My right leg wasn’t cooperating. Even lying down, I felt sharp, electric-like pain shooting up. Bora looked shocked at my condition.

Bora lifted the blanket and examined my right leg. My dinosaur pajamas were in the wash, so I was just wearing plain, lightweight pajamas. Seeing my swollen leg, Bora made a serious face and said,
“This is really swollen. We need to go to the hospital right now…”

I got ready to go to the hospital as Bora suggested. Since my leg hurt, I let Bora help me while I stayed lying down. It was surprisingly comfortable. Bora, like a perfect secretary, helped me get ready to go outside.
I leaned on Bora. I couldn’t walk, so I had no choice. It was morning, so there were many people heading to the office. Haru also looked shocked when she saw my leg. It was fine just yesterday.
After saying goodbye to the office staff, I went outside the building. It was cold, so I looked like a snowman in a padded jacket. Bora helped me into the passenger seat. I sat quietly, wearing my seatbelt.
The car was already warm from the heater. The hot air made me sleepy. Even though I slept enough yesterday, I suddenly felt drowsy.
Even with the pain in my leg, I felt sleepy… I guess I’m a sleepyhead. As I dozed off, nodding my head, we arrived at the hospital.
Arriving at the orthopedic department, I looked around. There were many patients. Each was in a wheelchair with casts on their legs. Would I end up with a cast too?
Bora sat me down in an empty seat and went to make an appointment. I sat quietly, watching Bora’s back. The hospital smelled strongly of disinfectant.
I instinctively frowned. Hospitals bring back not-so-great memories.
I was carried around by Bora, getting X-rays and going into strange machines… After all the pictures were taken, I quietly went into the examination room.
The doctor, after checking the X-rays, spoke calmly.
“It seems like your muscles are shocked. Besides the swelling, there’s no fracture in the bone.”
“That’s a relief. I thought my bone was broken.”
“Not to that extent. Of course, you’ll need a cast, but with proper rest and medication, you’ll recover quickly. Children heal fast.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
Hearing that I needed a cast, I turned pale. It didn’t feel like this would be the end. The kind doctor glanced at my leg and started applying the cast.
Measuring my leg with something like plaster, he then wrapped a hardened plaster-like material around my ankle with bandages. I hoped this would be the end. Hospitals always seem to have one more thing.
My sad premonition wasn’t wrong. After the cast was done, a nurse with a gentle voice said,
“Let’s move to the injection room~”
It was like a bolt from the blue for me. Of course, as an adult, it’s not the needle I’m afraid of. It’s this unbearable child’s body. I grabbed Bora’s sleeve, looking at her with wide eyes, and said,
“Bora, I don’t need a shot. Let’s go home!”
But Bora picked me up and headed to the injection room. I struggled and vehemently refused, but there was no way out.
“Hana, you need the shot to get better quickly. Just bear with it a little?”
“I… I have a condition that means I can’t get shots, Bora!”
“Stop talking nonsense. You’re fine to get shots. The research was completed last time.”
“Ugh!”
Feeling betrayed by Bora, I was taken to the injection room. Lying face down on the bed, I felt a deep sense of defeat. Having to get a shot after all… But as Bora left the injection room, a quiet calm came over me.

After saying it was a lie, I wished I could go back into the injection room.
But the sound of the door opening came, and it wasn’t Bora who entered the injection room. It was the nurse who had spoken so kindly earlier.

The nurse was holding a syringe in one hand. The needle sparkled under the fluorescent light, gleaming sharply. Was she really going to put that sharp, pointy syringe into my butt?
Absolutely not, but I had a cast on my leg right now. There was no way to escape.
“Pull your pants down~ It’ll sting a little.”
Before I knew it, my pants were slightly pulled down, and my butt was fully exposed. The nurse injected the medicine into the syringe and then tapped my butt with her hand.
I shuddered at the approaching fear. When the nurse’s syringe pierced my butt, I couldn’t bear the pain.

After what felt like both a short and long time, the nurse patted my butt and said,
“All done~”
With that, the nurse neatly exited. I had been defeated in battle. My mind was so out of it that I couldn’t even think to pull up my pants. My butt was stinging and throbbing from the injection.
Someday, I’ll get revenge on the doctor who allowed the injection and the nurse who gave it! Bora was in on it too, but considering our bond up until now, I decided to let it slide.
When I came to my senses and pulled up my pants, Bora entered the injection room. I turned my head away when I saw her, but Bora came closer and patted my head.
“You did well, Hana. Let’s go home now, okay?”
Hearing Bora’s kind voice, my sulky mood from the injection melted away. After all, they gave me the shot to help me recover faster, not out of spite. I returned home in Bora’s embrace.
Of course, I still had plans for bloody revenge against the doctor and nurse.

After returning to the hospital, I changed into my pajamas and was busy playing mobile games in bed.
Now that I was injured, it was guilt-free to laze around in bed. Of course, since I hurt my leg, walking was quite inconvenient. I hobbled to the bathroom or went to grab snacks.
Still, since I didn’t injure both legs, I didn’t need a wheelchair. I wanted to try zooming down the hallway in a wheeled wheelchair at least once, but since I wasn’t a child, I could resist that impulse.
While lying in bed like a useless human being, someone entered my room. The person holding a basket of snacks instead of fruit was Kim Sehee.
I raised both hands to welcome the boss who brought snacks.

Kim Sehee knew my preferences exactly. While fruit was nice, snacks were the best. Nothing else was needed.

I rolled up my pants to proudly show off my injury to the boss. Seeing my leg in a cast, the boss looked at me with pity.

“It doesn’t hurt much, probably because I got that shot earlier!”
The injection in my butt was worth it. When I woke up this morning, I felt a sharp, electric pain in my leg, but after the shot, it mostly disappeared. Well, not entirely.

The boss placed the snack basket on the drawer next to my bed. I couldn’t help but glance at it. It’s only natural to eat snacks when they’re around. I tried to reach for the basket, but my short arms couldn’t make it.
Seeing this, the boss took out a snack for me.

Eating a chocolate Pepero made it feel like my leg was completely healed. The sweet taste spreading in my mouth lifted my mood. I smiled and started devouring the snacks the boss gave me.
Snacks really are the best.
