Chapter 847: Afternoon in Early Summer
The early summer breeze blew past the window, bringing the tranquility of the afternoon.
“Actually, it’s not such a big deal.” Letis started hesitantly and then calmed down a bit.
She looked at the silver-haired girl in front of her, speaking with some lack of confidence, “Because when I first started making clothes, I was greatly influenced by Lolan, which gave me a lot of inspiration, helping me through the initial difficult period. I always wanted to thank you, but I was afraid that this minor thing would disturb you.”
Things have changed now; before, we were roommates and friends, but now she is a sage and witch of Clancia. Would she find it annoying? After all, she’s always so busy and has to take care of my feelings too. This is why Letis had been hesitant about seeking out Lolan Hill.
“If it’s Letis, it’s fine. I won’t be annoyed by such a small matter.” The young lady’s voice was gentle, seemingly sensing Letis’ unease and helping her relax.
“Really?” Letis pursed her lips.
“It’s not a significant matter, just some casual conversation. I just want to chat with Lolan in a relaxed manner. After all, many inspirations come from Lolan.”
“There’s no problem with that. But don’t take it too seriously, Letis.” Lolan Hill smiled gently, showing a comforting smile.
“This isn’t something to worry about.” As they talked, Letis began discussing daily attire, lifestyle, and other trivial matters with Lolan Hill.
“What kind of clothing does Lolan prefer?”
“Generally, I like light and comfortable dresses.” Lolan Hill started reminiscing about her own style.
Letis wanted to find more inspiration from this wise girl and also to understand this familiar yet unfamiliar companion. As she said, these were just minor matters, preferences and simple evaluations about various fashion trends, which were trivial compared to the national affairs she dealt with daily.
However, not everyone has to consider such serious matters all the time. Sometimes, talking about what to eat or where to go can be more interesting and engaging.
Gradually, Letis and Lolan Hill talked more and more, as if they had returned to those carefree days at the academy, where there were no barriers between them, and they could easily joke around.
“In fact, I’m quite curious. Nia, with her figure, shouldn’t she have many suitors in the army or on the grasslands?” Letis continued, turning the topic back to Nia.
“Seems so.” Lolan Hill also looked curiously at Nia, the voluptuous goat-horned beauty.
Seeing everyone looking at her, Nia still held her glass of juice, sipping slowly before answering.
“As for my figure, don’t laugh at me. Actually, I feel quite weighed down now, even less flexible than before.” Nia waved her hand, somewhat helplessly.
“Yes, there are indeed people who pursue me, but I haven’t agreed to any of them.” She then looked out the window, her spiral horns causing a few strands of hair to flutter. She then leaned on her arm.
“Because I don’t feel anything. One can’t just marry for the sake of having children.”
“So I’ve been hesitant, putting it off. Fortunately, the aging of Extraordinary Beings is much slower, so there’s no rush in these few years. Look at many elves who are over a hundred years old, still as youthful as ever. Isn’t that great?”
“Seems very reasonable.” Ye Ling propped up her chin, pondering seriously. If dragons aged like elves, how many years would it take to become adults?
“This really depends on personal choice; it can’t be forced.” Lolan Hill nodded.
“But talking about this reminds me of school days. Do you remember the eldest son of the Griffin Duke, Jielanen?” Nia suddenly spoke, changing the subject.
“I remember. What about him?”
“The eldest son of the Griffin hasn’t married yet. It’s rumored that he rejected several noble girls, and he’s still single. Could he still be thinking of you?”
After hearing this, Lolan Hill blinked, “That’s a foolish guess.”
“In fact, I don’t have any ill feelings towards Jielanen, but agreeing to him is impossible. Just because one person is infatuated doesn’t mean the other has an obligation to reciprocate.”
“For example, if you love apples, someone brings you a cartload of fish, insisting on giving it to you. You insist on refusing, and eventually, nothing happens, but people are moved by this. They think this is love, but in reality, it’s just an unsuccessful attempt at forced affection.”
“You seem to think this is love, but it’s actually just an unsuccessful transaction.” The young lady shook her head; she wasn’t easily fooled.
“In fact, I made it clear to Jielanen in the academy. He knew my decision and thoughts at that time. So, there might be some misunderstanding.”
“I think he might be infatuated, but he’s not that irrational. In Jielanen’s heart, family honor is also very important.” Lolan Hill shook her head, dismissing these baseless speculations.
“No wonder you’re still so amazing, Lolan.” Nia clapped lightly, admiration shining in her eyes as usual.
“So, this little sheep will wait a few more years. Figuring out one’s true feelings is a tough task for me.” Nia rubbed her forehead, troubled.
“It’s a big sheep,” Letis glanced at Nia’s ample figure with a hint of teasing.
“Oh,” Nia covered herself with her arm, trying to hide.
Thus, the group spent a joyful afternoon in the cold drink shop. As evening approached, they each went their separate ways.
Three days later, in the Red Mulberry Palace, the scent of apples began to waft, marking the end of June, and the weather was getting warmer.
“Oh, His Highness is leaving again?”
Palinza looked at the silver-haired girl carrying a wicker box, anxiously folding her hands in front of her.
“Yes, after staying for over a month, most things are settled. I just want to go back and sleep in.” Lolan Hill didn’t put on any airs in front of Palinza, speaking frankly about her desire to take a break.
“Well, yes, the Sage does need proper rest.” Although reluctant, Palinza couldn’t stop Lolan Hill from returning home.
“Hehe, don’t worry, I’ll be back.” Seeing Palinza’s anxious expression, Lolan Hill hugged the palace maid.
“Mm, I’ll still be waiting here.” Palinza curtsied.
“See you next time, Palinza~”
Her light voice drifted in the wind, and the girl before her had already soared into the sky, flying toward the distant azure blue.
It’s almost next month, could you please give me a vote?
