The arena is back.
Now, it’s time to get serious.
Ranked games. From now on, every match determines your rank.
Especially the first 10 placement matches are the most important.
Meaning, you absolutely cannot lose.
I headed to the training ground in the arena to warm up.
Unlike other training grounds, the dummies here are shaped like actual people, not just torsos.
“My condition is at its peak.”
After exercising, taking a half-body bath, and getting a massage, my body feels incredibly responsive today.
Skill combos flow smoothly, and switching between forehand and backhand grips with the dagger feels effortless.
After hitting the dummy for a bit, I immediately pressed the ranked match button.
Various notifications popped up, but I ignored them all and pressed the match button again.
*Ding.*
Another quick match.
It matched in almost 3 seconds.
My first ranked opponent—heart pounding.
A robe that reaches the ankles, a large wizard hat, a short wand. A wizard class with a wand and numerous small potions hanging from the robe.
It’s an [Enchanter], a debuff-focused mage class.
“Sunchoo said Enchanters are annoying to face…”
Enchanters aren’t a favorable class for PVP.
Mages already struggle in PVP, and Enchanters are even worse.
They’re one of the least played classes in PVP. But surprisingly, their win rate isn’t bad.
Probably because only the skilled ones remain. But Sunchoo said he hates Enchanters so much that he sometimes surrenders without even fighting when he faces one.
The reason? It’s all about the Enchanter’s concept.
“Ugh… Of all things, an Enchanter right off the bat…”
Enchanters don’t have many attack skills. And the ones they do have are hardly suitable for PVP.
An Enchanter’s PVP fight isn’t about defeating the opponent…
“Slow! Bind! Shackle! Vision Reduction! Petrify! Paralyze!”
“Damn it!”
They’re here to piss you off.
Their attack skill damage is laughably weak. But Enchanters aren’t about dealing damage.
They’re a walking bundle of crowd control (CC) skills—slowing you down, reducing your vision, occasionally freezing you in place.
Fighting an Enchanter in PVP isn’t a normal fight.
Usually, PVP is about whittling down the opponent’s HP to defeat them. But with Enchanters, it’s about making the opponent give up or winning by HP percentage after the time runs out.
Basically, anyone who plays PVP as an Enchanter is out of their mind.
Debuff skills are magic, so you can’t parry or block them—only dodge. And that’s not easy.
Even now, I can only dodge about half of the debuffs an Enchanter throws at me.
They spam magic like bullets, and it’s nearly impossible to avoid.
It’s less about dodging and more about hoping their skills miss.
“Arang, I’m your fan!”
The Enchanter user spamming debuffs while shouting that.
The Enchanter user is surprisingly skilled. No, they’re infuriating.
Every time I try to use a movement skill, they immediately cast a movement-restricting debuff like “Swamp” under me.
When I close the distance, they maintain just the right amount of space and time their attacks perfectly before the debuff wears off.
They calculate debuff durations, my skill cooldowns, and even the range of Assassin skills perfectly. They know Assassins better than I do.
This user must be extremely experienced in PVP.
Both the Great Sword User and this Enchanter user have caught me off guard.
There’s no opening. This user… they’re definitely a top-tier player. Are they really matching me with someone like this in my first placement match?
Even if I went 10-0 in casual matches, isn’t it too much to face someone like this right away?
Still, victory is definitely on my side.
No matter how much they spam debuffs and try to block my approach, if that were 100% effective, Enchanters would be broken.
But they’re not. An Enchanter would need to land about 20 attacks to match the damage of one of mine. Their attack power is pitiful.
Even if the Enchanter user is skilled, I’ve already landed enough hits to significantly reduce their HP compared to mine.
Victory is 100% mine.
The problem is, even knowing that, the Enchanter user has no intention of giving up.
“Arang, I love you!”
The Enchanter, a female user, spams debuffs at me while smiling, sending chills down my spine.
This Enchanter seems to have no intention of winning. They’re just trying to drag out this PVP match as long as possible.
They want to spend as much time with me as they can!
Have you ever seen such a crazy user?
“It was an honor~”
In the end, I won by timeout without killing the Enchanter. The Enchanter user waved at me with a smile.
I frowned at the Enchanter user.
“Ah, that expression is so delicious!!! Amazing!!!”
“Ugh…”
The Enchanter user said their piece and disappeared.
I’m exhausted.
I planned to finish all 10 placement matches today, but that last match drained all my energy.
Now I understand why Sunchoo surrenders immediately when he faces an Enchanter. It’s genuinely infuriating.
This was my first time experiencing debuffs firsthand, and it’s incredibly unpleasant.
Especially for someone as sensitive as me, getting hit by debuffs feels like someone forcibly messing with my nerves—it’s downright uncomfortable.
Enchanters. A class I never want to face in PVP again.
PVP is already tough because you have to consider the opponent’s strategies, but with debuffs in the mix, it’s enough to drive you insane.
Is PVP really this hard? No, it’s just that Enchanters are a trash class.
Anyway, Enchanters are one of the least played classes in the arena.
I probably won’t face one again.
The Enchanter usage rate in PVP is only 0.3%, after all.

As soon as I saw Arang enter the arena, I queued as an Enchanter.
Thanks to that, I got to have a full-time arena date with Arang.
Everyone, let’s queue up for an arena date with Arang!
Here are some class recommendations for a full-time date with Arang:
First, obviously, Enchanter is number one. The reasons are self-explanatory. You can have a stable, full-time date.
Next is Grim Reaper.
With insane mobility skills that drain your HP percentage-wise but won’t kill you, you can have a full-time date if you don’t care about winning.
The downside is you have to waste time with movement skills, so you can’t leisurely admire Arang’s face.
Lastly, of course, Tank Knight.
Just use survival and heal skills to hold your ground.
But the downside of Knights is too big.
Arang’s facial expressions might not change much.
So, what should we do? Definitely go Enchanter. Watching Enchanter gameplay videos, you can see Arang’s various expressions. That’s the real deal.

The narrowed-eye expression.

The wide-eyed expression.

The annoyed expression while looking at the ground due to the Swamp debuff.

The angry expression from the debuff shower.
My favorite Arang screenshot. The contemptuous look after the match.
Just devours a bowl of rice.
Everyone, queue up as Enchanter now. Let’s go!

I leveled an Enchanter just for this~ lol Let’s go~
ㄴlol I’m already spamming queue until I find Arang
But isn’t the gallery owner in placements? What’s their MMR right now?
ㄴNo idea? They started 10-0 in casuals, so probably high?
ㄴJust spam Enchanter until you find Arang, right?
But won’t they end up hating PVP if they keep facing Enchanters? If it were me, I’d quit PVP.
ㄴThat’s scary… We should probably take it easy.
ㄴWatching Kang Hangeul’s stream, it seems like they’re determined to try hard, so maybe no worries?
ㄴBut who’d want to keep facing Enchanters?
ㄴTrue
Enchanters should just be banned. Facing them makes my blood pressure skyrocket.
ㄴlol They’re just broken
ㄴBut you can’t lose to them lol
ㄴThey’re just here to piss you off lol

Check out the arena stats right now.
From Bronze to Diamond, 30% are Enchanters lol
Is this really the same Enchanter with a 0.3% usage rate? My chest feels grand lol
Just look at everyone desperately trying to face the gallery owner once.
(Photo)
I’m doing the same lol

Breaking news: Gallery owner just queued in Platinum.
ㄴWhat? They’re in Platinum already? How high is their MMR?
ㄴThey’re 11-0 so far, so it makes sense.
ㄴDo casual match stats affect ranked MMR?
ㄴUsually not, but if your casual stats are overwhelmingly good, it can influence placements.
ㄴI see…
They’ll probably face players between Platinum and Diamond. Bronze, Silver, Gold? Good luck.
ㄴDamn, I’ve been spamming queue but no luck.
ㄴHow dare Bronze/Silver/Gold try to face the gallery owner?

Something’s wrong here.
Out of 5 placement matches, I faced Enchanters in 3 of them.
Enchanters are supposed to have a 0.3% usage rate in the arena. But 3 out of 5 matches? That’s almost 60%.
Does that make sense? How does 0.3% become 60%?
Statistically, it doesn’t add up.
What are the odds of 0.3% happening 3 times out of 5? It’s like pulling a rate-up character 6 times in 10 pulls.
This can’t be real! It’s clearly rigged. Rigged!
There’s no way this is happening.
Sure, winning is good. But there’s no satisfaction in beating an Enchanter!
