Carlos gripped his sword tighter.

He stared at the female heretic, recalling her words, and then looked up at the burning orb hovering above them. His eyes flickered, and he hesitated.

Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed from the west side of the town.

Both of them instinctively turned their heads to see a dark shadow with trailing water leaping out from the ruins. The sand beneath shook before she even arrived. Carlos retreated in shock, transforming into lightning and stopping ten meters away. In front of them, the female heretic had not yet moved when water droplets began to condense from the air around her, gathering like raindrops toward her position.

Carlos shouted loudly.
