Chapter 81 Transformation Part Three
Whoosh whoosh whoosh—
The friction between the flames and the fierce wind produced an earsplitting screech. The sound approached rapidly, and in less than two seconds, a meteor streaked across the sky above the town, crashing down before Lawrence from the burning blood orb!
Boom!
With a tremendous explosion, surging karma flames accompanied by a shocking tidal wave crashed into him again. Lawrence barely stepped back when he was engulfed by the scorching wind and fire, his body instantly tilting backward.
Intense heat made the air distort. The knight commander fell to the ground; his light shield resisted for only a few seconds before shattering silently amidst the spreading flames. The fiery stream mixed with sand and rushed towards him in the next moment.
The man sat on the ground, mouth wide open as if in a roar, but no sound came out. His face quickly cracked and peeled, revealing dark red flesh which was immediately scorched black. His flying hair turned yellow and withered in an instant, then burst into flames. His solid golden armor started to glow red under the intense heat, emitting smoke from inside.
In the chaotic vision, a woman wrapped in a blood-soaked, tattered cloak stood up slowly from beneath the burning sphere, emerging from the center of the bursting flames.
“…Heretic…”
Lawrence managed to whisper weakly. He saw her looking at him. Her blood-red eyes were as cold as an ice cave, staring at him without any trace of emotion.
But this brief gaze was the last thing the man saw.
In the next moment, his bloodshot eyes, already full of blood vessels, burst open with a “plop plop” sound.
…………
The remnants of the flames gradually dissipated in the town center.
The female heretic named Elina tightened her cloak and stepped out of the pit created by her fall. She looked at the nearby knight lying on the ground, almost unrecognizable from the shockwave, still trembling but biting his lip, refusing to cry out in pain.
“Damn… beast…”
She heard the knight cursing in his dying breath. His hoarse voice seemed filled with anger and resentment, but he could do nothing more. His eyes had been burned blind, blood gushing from the wounds, his body covered in large, burnt, grotesque wounds. His once shining gold armor was now charred and deformed, like a roasted suckling pig, quite gruesome.
“First Knight Order, ha.”
Her face was stern as she glanced at him and then ignored him.
She raised her head to look at the floating blood sphere in the sky, clearly seeing the distinct crack within the burning flames. The crack seemed to be expanding slowly. Elina frowned deeply, watching for a moment before retreating.
Whoosh—
In the next instant, a torrent of death smoke surged out from the crack in the blood sphere!
Elina seemed to have anticipated this. As the death smoke erupted, her body transformed into crimson flames, shooting up from the yellow earth, leaping at incredible speed to the top of the burning ruins of a distant earthen house. She avoided the black fog and stood against the wind.
In her sight, the snake-like black mist instantly flooded the road below. The knight commander, lying on the ground, never had time to make a sound before he, along with the equally burnt-out horned beast, was swallowed by the terrifying death smoke, turning into two wisps of white-green mist that quickly vanished into the burning sphere, becoming sustenance for the monster.
Inside the sphere, the faint sounds of a girl’s pleasured moans and breaths could be heard.
Elina frowned deeply.
“It seems things are getting complicated.”
She murmured to herself, then heard faint commotion coming from the west side of the town.
, she turned her head again.
The dilapidated mud huts were scattered at the end. Crimson sunlight bathed the earth, dyeing the barren yellow soil with blood. In the distance beyond the town, a golden armored army could be seen advancing. The warriors of the First Knight Order marched steadily, their resolute footsteps echoing, still evoking an overwhelming and chilling aura.
“Hildegard…”
A woman named Alerna looked in that direction, murmuring softly, “I don’t know how much longer I can hold on, but you must keep going.”
As the black mist below swirled back into a fireball, she leaped down from the burning, already devastated town road, now unrecognizable.
The woman moved forward alone, her stern face showing indescribable resolve and calmness.
“Hold on, survive. Then, do what I couldn’t accomplish even with all my efforts…”
Boom—
Her figure transformed once more into a blazing meteor, rushing towards the western part of the town.
Beyond the western part of the town, the great army approached.
Bishop Alersta stood at the forefront of the army, gazing at the seemingly tranquil town ahead. He saw the dazzling flames rising into the sky, quickly approaching them.
The young man felt a sudden unease in his heart.
“That is—”
Crack!
In the west of the town, a fiery meteor crashed into the center of the road, igniting the yellow soil which dispersed like an explosion. Alerna emerged slowly from the rising dust, the flames engulfing her burning even more fiercely.
After a few steps, the cloak behind the woman suddenly writhed, as two grotesque giant hands, like withered blood branches, pierced through her skin and stretched toward the sky, transforming into two crimson whips that slammed heavily onto the ground!
Rumble rumble rumble…
In the sky above, red flames gathered.
Scream—
Outside the town, sand surged, and amidst the howling wind, countless antelopes neighed loudly. The knights shouted noisily, spreading an uneasy atmosphere. Bishop Alersta waved his arms continuously, shouting orders. Messengers rode back and forth between the golden armored army, while intense flames roared from the sky above, like a fire cloud spewing high temperatures. In just a few seconds, a massive fireball, blocking out the sun, had formed from a thousand meters above.
In front of the formation, the anxious young bishop, next to an elderly man riding on a beast, suddenly opened his eyes wide.
…
At the same time, on a dune less than five kilometers away from the town, two figures dashed down from the sky.
“Carlos!”
A red-haired woman named Lapulia, looking at the towering fireball rising from the town, couldn’t help but exclaim, “That’s the inferno! The cursed blood ritual phase! I’ve seen this before; it’s no joke. We should… Hey Carlos! Can you hear me!?”
“Lia.”
Swordsman Carlos stood in front of the dune, his demeanor long gone was the carefree, lazy yet seemingly all-knowing attitude. He became tense and solemn, “Stay here, don’t move forward. Wait until I figure out what’s happening…”
“It’s too late for such nonsense!”
“I’m serious. There’s no room for discussion.”
The man turned around, glaring fiercely at her, “Speed has always been my strength, not yours. No matter what happens over there, if I sense danger and decide to leave, no one can stop me—not even the master. But you? What advantage does your Flame Order have against such a heretic?”
He finished speaking, not waiting for her to retort, he barked, “Stay here and wait!” Then his figure transformed into a deep blue lightning bolt, taking advantage of Lapulia’s stunned moment, he charged down the dune and rushed toward the town.
Meanwhile, in the sky to the west, the crimson fireball, with its astonishing momentum, fell toward the outskirts of the town.
