The sharp blade slashed out, and the purple light moon flashed away from the sword in an instant. This time, the woman did not choose to meet it head-on. Knight Commander Lawrence let out a muffled groan as his chest armor dented inward from the force of the kick. His body flew backward like a cannonball, crashing through the roof and landing in a burning wooden shed nearby, causing a large section of burnt beams to collapse and bury him.

At the same time, fierce winds rushed past his right side, and a sharp holy spear came hurtling through the air. The captain’s face darkened ominously as he watched the scene.

In the next moment, he moved. Leaping high from the ashes, he landed on the broken wall of a nearby courtyard and let out a loud yell, “Ah!”

Golden light instantly burst forth, even covering his fierce eyes with a thin layer of gold. As the miracle occurred, more chains sprang up from all directions, reaching towards the woman soaring in mid-air!

“Trap her! Trap her!!”

Captain Lawrence roared, his angry shout accompanied by the gradual formation of a golden cross in the distance. Countless chains twisted and writhed through the hot and stinking air like snakes, their long bodies coiling around her.

“Clang clang clang!”

The woman was soon tightly bound, dragged and tied to the glaring cross. Scarlet flames ignited again in the next moment, tongues of fire spewing thick smoke from her entire body. The chains sizzled, and the flames intensified within two seconds, as if they were about to consume both her and the cross on her back.

Such a level of miracle was far from enough to restrain her…

At this point, the captain roughly estimated the strength of the female heretic. It must be at the Blood Sacrifice stage, for sure. Until now, she hadn’t shown her true capabilities against them. She seemed to merely want to draw the attention of the knight order, mislead their judgment, and make everyone focus on her, thereby ignoring other matters.

By now, the man realized that with their twenty or so men, it was impossible to confront the female heretic. She was merely toying with them, which infuriated him immensely. However, amidst his anger, he still maintained some rationality.

The captain knew that if he continued like this, not only would he gain no merit, but he might also lose all these brothers in the town, ending up on the church’s trial bench due to his recklessness… Or perhaps he might even die at the hands of that woman.

He was already considering retreating…

Just as anxiety filled his heart, a wild laugh suddenly echoed from the distant rear.
