Chapter 69: Newcomer’s First Release, Humbly Asking for Subscription Support!
First off, let’s talk about the update time: on the 24th at exactly 11 PM, which is the usual update time for VIP chapters.
There might be a one or two-minute delay, so if it doesn’t show up right away, just keep refreshing.
Also, aside from the readers on this site, I hope those on Q Reading can hop over to Qidian and lend this newbie some subscription support. It really means a lot.
Thank you, Fish Fragrant Cheese!
Now, about the update plan: I currently have over ten thousand words written. Once it’s up, I’ll release everything, but it certainly won’t be all of it.
How much I can update tomorrow depends on how much I can write.
That covers the update questions.
Now, onto the main topic.
To be honest, using this title as my release statement feels a bit harsh.
Am I a newbie? Technically speaking, I’ve been writing for three or four years now, so I’m not exactly a newbie—more like an old bird.
I vaguely remember a few years ago when I first started; I was completely clueless and just casually opened a story on Qidian that borrowed some settings from a popular series.
Naturally, it flopped so hard that even my mom wouldn’t recognize it.
After that, I stumbled around different websites, defeated and disheartened.
I wrote Western fantasy on some site, nation-building on another, and remorseless regret on yet another—I’ve soared in some, crashed in others (don’t ask, let’s keep it mysterious).
In the end, I didn’t earn much, but my health took a hit.
I’ve got nodules on my lungs, I cough every winter, my spine is a mess, and I even have stomach issues that require daily medication.
Suddenly, I realized I’m almost 25 this year, two years out of college, while my peers are either wrapping up grad school or grinding away in the job market.
But it seems I’ve accomplished nothing.
Even in writing, numerous friends have found success on Qidian in the past two years, while I can only watch enviously from the sidelines, like a humble potato.
Returning to the initial question: Am I a newbie? In a sense, I really am.
Because until now, I haven’t published a single book on Qidian.
And this one is about to finally see the light of day.
I’m feeling incredibly anxious.
I’ve put in my utmost effort into the story and its ongoing plot, presenting my best work so far.
Though there are many imperfections, I personally feel it’s at least somewhat acceptable.
What’s done is done; the rest is up to fate.
And dear readers, your subscriptions are the fate of this book! While I don’t know the outcome, I want to thank you all in advance.
Of course, I also want to thank my editor, Qingzhou, who not only brought me to Qidian but also filled my recommendation slots and tirelessly answered my questions every day.
I really appreciate it.
Lastly, a bit about the plot.
Currently, the Orlen City arc is the shortest one, expected to wrap up around 250,000 words, with one ultimate climax I haven’t written yet.
After this arc, we’ll dive into the much-anticipated Imperial Capital arc, which will be lengthy and introduce new female characters.
I won’t spoil any more details.
I’ve rambled on a lot, and you guys must be getting a bit impatient, so I’ll stop here.
To sum it all up:
Please subscribe!!! Also, I’d like to recommend a friend’s book—if you’re interested, please support it! And don’t forget to vote!
Especially the monthly votes!!!
