Chapter Thirty: Double Kill
Bai Ling sat on her chair without getting up, feeling like she was cosplaying as Professor X. And it was even more convenient than being the professor since she could use telekinesis to make the chair zoom around.
This made her look even more like Jean Grey.
The white-haired maiden got distracted for a moment, accidentally letting the chair get hit by a Second-tier air cannon, shattering one of its legs into pieces.
”She’s almost done for!” said the young man who fired the air cannon. “Give it all you’ve got!”
So another barrage of skills came her way—fireballs, wind blades, iron pellets. The restaurant hall quickly turned into a mess. Someone accidentally hit the stairs, and after a loud bang, the staircase between the fourth and fifth floors collapsed.
The people below couldn’t climb up anymore, so they could only attack from afar while the melee fighters were left in frustration.
Had they entered the phase of fire suppression?
Bai Ling wanted to hide her true strength and couldn’t retaliate—lest she accidentally kill a few of them—so she just pretended to be dodging with difficulty, controlling the chair to evade here and there, treating it like a bullet hell game.
It must be said that at this point in time, people’s understanding of spiritual energy was still very superficial, with not many innovative skills. Things like fireball spells, water ball spells, and wind blades were all copied from early video games.
They had no choice—they wanted to learn the big skills from those games, but they simply lacked the power.
This was especially evident in mental abilities. There were several Spiritual Energy Manipulators present with Inner Stones of the Mind, but most of them were just trying to interfere with their own spirits, basically doing nothing.
People at this stage couldn’t even imagine that powerful Mental-type Spiritual Energy Manipulators could intrude into others’ minds, temporarily severing their perception of time, achieving an effect akin to stopping time.
Bai Ling came back from ten years later, leading not only in terms of strength but also in tactics and understanding gained over these ten years of spiraling progress. Simply put, her version comprehension crushed theirs.
If they had the same level of understanding of spiritual energy as the people ten years later, even two or three tiers could unleash special-effect skills, and Bai Ling wouldn’t be so calm.
Now she even had the leisure to glance toward the suite direction, checking on Xiaoling’s battle status.
On Xiaoling’s side, the situation was naturally fine too. The blonde-haired maiden continuously controlled high-pressure water streams, suppressing Mu Ron Han and preventing him from advancing.
A punch shattered the water barrier in front of him, but immediately a new stream of water rushed forward. With his previous force spent and new force yet to gather, Mu Ron Han was pushed back a few steps, fighting further away instead.
Unable to close the distance after battling for such a long time, constantly being worn down from afar—how could this fight continue? Even Wang Chengze embedded in the wall couldn’t bear to watch anymore and shouted advice:
”Don’t fight a war of attrition with her; you can’t outlast her. Try to rush through and focus all your strength into one blow. She can’t match your burst power!”
Yuan Xiaoling blinked her eyes, thinking to herself—if I can’t handle burst power, how do I not know about it?
But Mu Ron Han thought about it and found it reasonable. As a sporty muscle guy, his brain might not be the sharpest, but when it came to strength and burst power, he feared no one.
Lifting his right arm, he concentrated all his spiritual power into one point. His already taut muscles bulged even more, looking extremely powerful.
”Haaah… Ah! Mighty Punch!”
Pure brute force tore through the air, exploding violently on the water curtain, instantly scattering it into countless droplets. That stubborn water flow that had troubled him endlessly was finally dispersed.
”Haha.”
Mu Ron Han was ecstatic. Now, there was nothing blocking him and Yuan Xiaoling…
”Quack!”
What was that?
Seeing the scene behind the water curtain, Mu Ron Han froze instantly, and Wang Chengze widened his eyes. Behind the water curtain was a frog bigger than a person—or rather, a frog made entirely of water.
Even worse, there were more frogs behind it, along with a dog, a chicken, and a goose, all incredibly large.
”Woof woof!”
”Gobble gobble!”
”Der~!”
The comical sounds sent chills down the spines of the two men in the room. At this point, they couldn’t help but realize—the blonde busty girl’s spiritual energy level seemed higher than theirs.
And not just by a little bit.
”You’re so weak, buddy,” Yuan Xiaoling placed her hands on her hips, giving no quarter, “All you think about is hitting on girls, and in the end, you can’t even beat a girl. If I were you, I’d be too ashamed to stand upright anymore. You’re hopeless.”
Mu Ron Han felt somewhat triggered by what she said, gritting his teeth and roaring angrily: “Ah!”
His arm muscles swelled again. He could still fight; he wanted to prove himself…
”Quack!” Then he was swallowed whole by the water frog.
The gap was too large. A Third-tier peak at full completion versus a Third-tier beginner had a significant difference in spiritual energy intensity.
In terms of skills, one side relied almost purely on brute force for subpar output, while the other side had perfect skill combinations with precise control over elements. Their skill attack powers weren’t even comparable.
”Stop wasting words, useless trash, just stay quiet and fall down.”
Yuan Xiaoling waved her little hand and started walking towards the wall with her animal companions.
Wang Chengze stared in horror.
”No, you can’t… I’m the son of the chairman of Xingsheng Group, my father is Wang Xingsheng, president of the Haitian Yise Association. Do you still want to survive in Tianhai City… Ah!”
”Quack!”
……
The battle in the hall was intense, and the scales of victory were tilting in their favor—at least that’s what the young ones believed.
The staircase from the fourth floor to the fifth floor was broken, and no one dared to use the elevator… People nowadays have seen movies; they know it’s absolutely forbidden to take the elevator during chaos. Any small problem could trap you inside forever.
Because of this, reinforcements from downstairs couldn’t ascend, and the few rich boys upstairs didn’t dare to go all out, only able to strike from the sides. However, they had plenty of ranged attack methods and were heavily suppressing under the advantage of numbers.
”She’s almost done! Let’s see how long she can dodge!”
People downstairs cheered them on, and Bai Ling played along perfectly. Under the control of telekinesis, her chair slowed down its movement, making it seem like dodging was becoming increasingly difficult. It appeared that if everyone just tried a little harder and managed to hit her once, she would be finished.
Those with ranged abilities kept firing relentlessly, while those without ranged abilities cheered loudly. Only one or two bored individuals pondered a minor question.
”If she isn’t physically disabled, why does she insist on sitting on the chair? Wouldn’t it be better for her to stand up?”
But everyone was too hyped up to think about it too much, and rational questions were drowned out in battle cries.
The battle grew fiercer, and just as Bai Ling was about to “give up”, at the critical moment—
”Everyone, stop attacking!”
A soft girl’s voice rang out, and everyone looked toward the door of the suite, startled.
Yuan Xiaoling walked out first, followed by two giant water frogs and several other equally massive animal companions.
”Woof woof!” “Gobble gobble!” “Der~!”
The earth dog, fire chicken, and great white goose were all calling out, except for the two frogs, which remained silent because one contained Mu Ron Han and the other contained Wang Chengze. Their transparent forms clearly showed the contents within.
”Lord Ze! Lord Han!”
They now realized that this excessively pretty cute blonde busty girl was actually a powerful Element-type Spiritual Energy Manipulator. The originally strong Wang Chengze and Mu Ron Han, especially the latter at Third-tier, had been taken down so quickly in a two-on-one battle.
For a moment, everyone felt a chill. They considered themselves invincible in Tianhai City, but… When did so many young experts appear in Tianhai City?
The previously chubby Huang family master, his face contorted with worry: “What have you done to them!”
”Nothing much, just hostages,” Yuan Xiaoling placed her hands on her hips, her Dabeitu standing tall, “Let us leave!”
Releasing them meant complete failure of this revenge operation and a severe beating. But not releasing them meant the two lords were about to suffocate.
Master Huang looked at Master Zhou, Master Zhou looked at Young Master Liu, Young Master Liu looked at Younger Brother Yang, and Younger Brother Yang looked at the people downstairs. In the end, everyone looked at Wang Chengze and Mu Ron Han trapped inside the water frogs.
”Save them first,” Master Zhou gritted his teeth, cold sweat streaming down his face, “We’ll let you go. Don’t harm Lord Ze and Lord Han.”
This was his family’s restaurant, and if anything happened to the two lords, his family would suffer the worst consequences.
No one dared to continue attacking. Bai Ling stood up from the chair and slowly walked to Yuan Xiaoling’s side, pretending to be almost out of stamina.
”Leave earlier, release them sooner,” she whispered to Yuan Xiaoling, “Don’t suffocate them.”
”…”
After going down the elevator and leaving the Tianhai Grand Hotel, the blonde-haired maiden waved her little hand, and the two frogs dissolved into water curtains, splashing apart. Wang Chengze and Mu Ron Han fell to the ground with a splash.
Taking advantage of the water curtain explosion, Yuan Xiaoling quickly followed Bai Ling and left.
”Lord Ze! Lord Han!”
Master Zhou led a group of people rushing forward to support the two young masters. Both Wang Chengze and Mu Ron Han had red faces from holding their breath, and now, with water in their airways, snot was spurting out.
He slightly relaxed, but immediately frowned deeply.
The good news was that they were alive; the bad news was that they had been utterly humiliated, and in front of so many people.
