Chapter 66: Living Too Much
Although Axi declined her good intentions, Airael couldn’t help but admire him in this manner.
Especially when he confidently declared he would take care of Sko by himself.
I have to admit, that was truly charming.
No matter the gender or age, everyone would be captivated by him.
Now, that’s personal charm for you!
Axi didn’t pursue Airael’s words any further.
He still preferred to defeat that guy Sko alone.
Airael didn’t say anything more.
After chatting about other topics, she stood up and lazily stretched, saying, “I’m fine now, so I won’t disturb you any longer. I need to go back and get some proper rest.”
With that, Airael walked straight out of the room.
Axi watched Airael leave and only turned his gaze away once her figure disappeared completely.
Back in her room, Airael lay on her bed as she had mentioned and began to rest.
Although she had alleviated her body’s fatigue with some drugs, it was still temporary relief.
Real rest was what her body truly needed.
As Airael and Axi started to rest, things in the small town were far from over.
A huge pile of aftermath awaited Baron Powell.
On top of that, he realized he truly needed to reassess both Airael and Axi.
The key point being Airael.
This suddenly appeared companion of Axi was quite remarkable.
If his earlier speculations were just guesswork, then this battle had to some extent confirmed those guesses.
Whether it was Airael’s various performances in battle, especially the way she commanded him, or her two suddenly appearing and contributing servants, all these elements indicated Airael was anything but ordinary.
And very much so.
Such an extraordinary person was currently associated with someone as unique as Axi, which really made one ponder a lot.
Though he was curious, Baron Powell, being perceptive, didn’t delve too deeply into their relationship.
Even as a baron, a fairly capable one at that, he only put on airs in his immediate vicinity.
In this world, there were far more imposing figures than him.
However, his lack of inquiry didn’t mean others around him and in the town weren’t interested in digging deeper.
In the town’s blacksmith shop.
Knight Wol personally brought in weapons and armor that needed repairs.
Seeing a cart piled high with weapons and armor, Alice couldn’t help but complain, “This is too much!”
“Alice, this is actually a small amount! You haven’t seen those grand battles; after one, you can have dozens of carts needing repairs, not to mention many weapons and armor that are completely wrecked and can’t be fixed. Besides, what I brought is just a part of today’s battle.”
Although Alice hadn’t seen the scenes Wol described, she could imagine how terrifying that must be with just this cart alone.
They’d be busy for quite a while.
Not to mention the amounts that could be dozens of times larger.
That would truly leave one unable to see the end of the road ahead.
“Even so, I really don’t know when we’ll finish with all this.”
While Wol’s words successfully shocked Alice, the little girl didn’t overlook the big challenge before them.
This cart full of items was a massive workload.
Though they could earn a lot, sometimes it wasn’t all about money.
Making money is one thing, but they can’t tire themselves out too much!
While they could slow down, a decrease in efficiency would indeed affect the blacksmith shop’s business.
Wol looked at Alice, who was complaining, and wanted to say some comforting words, but the words just wouldn’t come out.
After all, these tasks needed to be done.
“Brother Wol, could you see if the other blacksmiths can take on some of this? Their skills might not match Dad’s here, but they’re not too shabby. Shouldn’t be a problem for them to fix it.”
Seeing Wol silent, Alice started to act cute.
“What you say is true, but basically, the quality of weapons and armor here has come from Uncle Anas, and the other blacksmiths have mostly worked on agricultural tools and inferior weapons and armor. Only Uncle Anas can be trusted by the baron, and the other blacksmiths are all busy with their own work right now.”
Listening to Wol, Alice began to carefully inspect the gear piled in front of her.
At that moment, she noticed that aside from looking a little shabby, the quality was actually quite decent.
“Surely there’s your share in here too!”
For that, Alice spoke with some annoyance.
In their shop, only knights and distinguished barons could use such good stuff.
Wol smiled sheepishly.
“Alice, let’s not get into that.”

“Uncle Anas, what do you think of these?”
“Leave them here with me. I’ll fix them up as quickly as I can.”
“Thank you so much, Uncle Anas.”
Hearing Anas agree, Wol happily said.
Then he turned to the two soldiers who had come along and said, “Quick, help unload the items.”
The two soldiers immediately started moving, taking the weapons and armor off the cart and into the blacksmith shop.
Anas kept his gaze fixed on the weapons and armor, examining their damaged parts and the extent of their damage.
Once they had finished unloading everything, Wol spoke to Anas, “Uncle Anas, I still need to report back, so I won’t stay here any longer.”
Anas shifted his gaze from the gear to Wol and nodded gently, “Take care.”
“Don’t come back too soon!”
Alice said, fuming.
This made Wol’s face freeze as he pleaded, “Alice, you can’t blame me for this!”
“Who else are we to blame then?”
Wol had nothing to say to that.
To be honest, it was indeed partly his fault.
After all, who could help it if Uncle Anas’s skills were top-notch!
Weapons and armor were extremely important for people like them; they relied on it for both achievements and survival.
Thus, it was only natural they wanted their quality to be exceptional.
