Chapter 6: The Birth of the Little Princess

Chapter 6: The Birth of the Little Princess

After a lengthy chat, Arthur and Shadow parted ways.

Shadow went off to complete the tasks Arthur had entrusted to him, investigating information related to Airael.

Meanwhile, Arthur continued his journey towards the Elven Royal City of Georgia.

Recapturing Shadow was one of Arthur’s goals for this trip; with his new team just forming, he definitely wanted to snatch some talent from the Georgia Kingdom before leaving.

As a recently recaptured royal city, it was currently buzzing with a crowd of capable individuals from Georgia.

Those who could come here possessed certain skills and aspirations.

Recruiting such people wasn’t particularly challenging.

There’s a saying: it’s not that you’re not ambitious, but rather, you’re not capable.

If you’re capable, you can generally get the help you need for whatever you desire.

On the other hand, it’s the capable but unmotivated folks who are hard to recruit.

Take Arthur, for instance.

He had been that type of person, ignoring the olive branches extended by various factions.

Shadow’s successful recapture undoubtedly set a positive tone for Arthur’s journey.

His abilities would soon provide significant support to Arthur.

On a side note, while Arthur was busy digging for talent in Georgia, the Kingdom had to pay a price after reclaiming lost territory through amicable negotiations with three neighboring nations.

They ceded a portion of land from the border to these three nations.

Though they lost some territory, it wasn’t a major concern for the Georgia Kingdom.

Border regions weren’t exactly luxurious lands.

Moreover, people hardly possessed any national sentiments at this time; this world focused more on racial differences.

For instance, when it came to Dwarves and Orcs.

Ceding land to the three nations was merely like changing leaders for the local residents; life would go on as usual.

As long as the new noble’s policies weren’t worse than those of their predecessors, they typically held no grievances.

As for the lands that originally belonged to nobles, the Georgia Kingdom redistributed them elsewhere.

It’s important to note that during the war with the Dwarves, the Georgia Kingdom had lost quite a few nobles.

In addition, some incompetent nobles were stripped of their noble status.

This left many vacancies within the kingdom that could be awarded to those who performed well.

Aside from rewarding the meritorious, this could certainly help soothe people’s hearts.

Returning the focus to the Elven Race.

Time flew by like an arrow.

Under Airael’s governance, the Elven Royal City thrived every single day.

In contrast, some Elven Lords’ lands began showing signs of decline.

However, they were still oblivious to this; it would take time for the signs to manifest.

Hopefully, by then, it wouldn’t be too late.

At the same time, due to Airael’s constant stream of novel ideas, Domiya had her workload increasing!

These ideas required her research team to help bring them to fruition. Though the team complained at times, they mostly found joy in the work.

Take Domiya, for example; her intense curiosity bordered on pathological when it came to magical research and new knowledge.

Under her leadership, the scientific team of the Elven Royal Academy transformed into research-obsessed workaholics, including the students they mentored.

To be their student, one had to enjoy research, or they wouldn’t have made it into the advanced class.

However, don’t underestimate these introverted researchers; they wielded the power to change the world!

Meanwhile, over on Linis’s side, there was significantly less going on.

But what she had on her plate was crucial, directly affecting the future of the Elven Race.

Linis had been focused on that very issue lately, something only she could monitor to ensure peace of mind.

As for Airael, right before going into labor, she temporarily set aside her work and delegated power to others.

No need for stressful matters to cloud her mind now.

With the Royal City growing ever more prosperous, complexities were piling up, making things increasingly difficult to manage.

After carrying the baby for so long, Airael didn’t want to jeopardize her efforts, so she opted for a little out-of-sight, out-of-mind strategy.

Any issues could wait until after giving birth; once she’d settled in post-delivery, she’d address everything.

Time quickly flew to the day Airael was to give birth.

This day had already been anticipated by Airael and her allies.

Thus, on the day of delivery, the Elven Race was completely prepared.

Linis, the Grand Priestess, along with a group of high-ranking priests, personally came to assist Airael in childbirth, welcoming the arrival of their little princess.

Indeed, Airael’s child was a little princess.

This had been discovered when the baby was just starting to form inside her.

As for the gender, Airael didn’t have strong feelings one way or the other.

Among the Elven Race, there was no class distinction between men and women, it solely depended on one’s abilities.

However, with influential figures like Airael, Linis, and Domiya all being female, the status of women in the Elven Race had slightly risen over recent years.

And there’s a saying: when material needs are met, men are more likely to be swayed by beautiful women.

Even the more ordinary Elven women could be considered beauties, so you can imagine the situation.

In the delivery room, Airael lay on the bed, enduring the excruciating pain of her lower body tearing, gritting her teeth in determination.

She didn’t cry out in pain.

Because she wasn’t that weak; she was the Elven Queen, after all.

Linis and the group of priests surrounded Airael, and as they witnessed her strength, their earlier anxiety slowly transformed into calm.

With them there, as long as Airael still breathed, they could save her, but considering the Queen’s safety, they had to be extra cautious.

Airael, in her resilience, didn’t need their comforting words or encouragement.

It would have been completely unnecessary.

In fact, doing so would have been the biggest blow to her spirit.

They simply observed Airael with expectant gazes.

They believed in their Queen’s ability to successfully deliver their Elven princess.

Feeling their hopeful gazes, a surge of strength flowed through Airael.

She kept pushing.

Yet, achieving this was no simple feat.

Her body had been trained far beyond the ordinary, especially after returning to the Elven Race; she had no idea how much her body had been enhanced.

Thus, creating a passage large enough for the little princess to come through was quite the challenge.
