Chapter 6: Airael’s Staff
Linis’s ease made Domiya giggle happily, “Don’t worry! After all, she is our esteemed queen, Your Majesty. I will definitely teach her well. Besides, it’s such a waste to let such powerful magical talent go to waste!”
Suddenly remembering her original destination, Domiya looked at Linis and asked, “By the way, have you prepared Your Majesty’s staff? I’m going to officially teach her magic tomorrow.”
“So soon?”
Linis seemed a bit shocked.
She estimated it should at least take another month.
“Believe me, I’m just as shocked, but what can we say? Our queen is smart and eager to learn!”
Domiya was quite satisfied with Linis’s reaction.
Linis nodded, indicating she understood, then looked at Domiya and said, “It appears you’re truly pleased with our queen.”
“Of course! Even if she weren’t Your Majesty, I would still love having such a student.”
Domiya said proudly.
“Then you should thank me.”
Linis chimed in.
Domiya pouted, replying, “Well, thank you very much.”
“You’re welcome!”
Linis responded, leaving Domiya utterly annoyed.
But Linis didn’t give Domiya a chance to speak any further, continuing, “I’ve already prepared Your Majesty’s staff, and I’ll send someone to deliver it to her right away.”
Hearing this, Domiya immediately shifted her attention, asking, “So, Linis, what quality is the staff you prepared for Her Majesty? You wouldn’t give her a low-quality novice staff, right? Not only would it be unworthy of her status, but poor quality could affect the practice results. You know, it’s her first time using magic. A novice like her will rely heavily on a staff. A good staff can help her quickly master magic.”
About Domiya’s worries, Linis appeared completely unfazed, “Domiya, you should have faith in our queen. I believe that even without a high-quality staff, she will successfully cast magic for the first time.”
“That’s true, but wouldn’t a good staff be better? Anyway, staffs are essential for our mage-type profession. Besides, I think I should prepare for the worst. I mean, you don’t want our queen to suffer a major setback upon her first use of magic, do you?”
“I’ve already prepared the staff. You’ll see its quality tomorrow. Now, unless there’s anything else, you can leave. I need to get back to work.”
Watching Linis focus on her work, Domiya helplessly stood up and exited the office.
Although she left without an answer to her last question, and Linis had kept her on edge, the gains from this visit had exceeded her initial expectations.
So, she had no other requests.
Next, she needed to go back and prepare well for tomorrow’s magic practice course.
She was going to tailor a training plan specifically for their queen.
She had been preparing this plan for a while and needed to refine it promptly.
Not long after Domiya left, Linis’s room welcomed a new guest.
Seeing Hela, Linis asked, “Hela, what brings you here?”
“Lady Linis, it’s like this. Tomorrow morning, Her Majesty will officially start practicing magic, and she sent me to ask about the staff.”
“The staff! You came at just the right time. You’ll bring the staff back for Her Majesty.”
“Yes!”
Hela accepted without hesitation.
When Airael woke from her nap, she saw Hela standing in her room, holding a long object wrapped in white cloth with both hands.
“Hela, what’s that in your hands?”
Airael rubbed her slightly dazed eyes and asked.
“Your Majesty, this is your staff.”
Staff!
Hearing that word, Airael instantly perked up, excitedly saying, “Quick, let me see it!”
Hela stepped forward, handing Airael the staff wrapped in white cloth and helped her unwrap it.
The staff was about two meters long, entirely golden, looking like it was made of pure gold. At the top of the staff, it expanded into a round shape, embedded with a red gem the size of an adult fist.
Airael’s eyes immediately locked onto the red gem, and she couldn’t help but exclaim, “So beautiful!”
Then Airael eagerly reached for the staff, gripping it tightly with both hands.
The moment she grasped the staff, Airael felt completely different all of a sudden.
The magical elements around her seemed to stand ready like an army, just waiting for her command to launch an attack on the enemies.
Suddenly, the staff in Airael’s hands emitted a golden glow, followed by a golden six-pointed star magic circle appearing beneath her. The magic circle instantly covered the entire bed, filled with mysterious magic symbols.
The red gem at the top of the staff sparkled even more brightly.
Airael examined the staff in her hands.
The golden light radiating from the staff was not glaring, but rather soft and warm, making Airael feel a distinct sense of kindness from it.
Moreover, it seemed she had an unspoken connection with the staff.
This feeling made Airael even happier.
Even though her knowledge of this world was limited, she could tell, thanks to some information from her past life, that this staff was no ordinary item; it was definitely top-tier in this world.
It felt like she was receiving a divine artifact right from the start.
She knew this was all thanks to her status.
She was the Elven Queen.
So she deserved a staff of this caliber.
Beside Airael, Hela was already struggling to control her expression due to overwhelming surprise.
She never expected the staff she had just acquired would be of such high quality.
Even those grand mages might not possess a staff of this level!
Hela couldn’t help but think to herself.
Suddenly, Hela frowned slightly, gazing at the staff’s shape.
She felt like she had seen this staff somewhere before but just couldn’t recall where.
It had to be in some book.
Hela was certain that she was seeing this staff for the first time in reality.
Otherwise, if she had seen it once before, she definitely wouldn’t have forgotten it.
Still lying in bed, Airael resisted the urge to command her element army.
Domiya had once told her that as a pure novice, she wasn’t suited for practicing magic alone just yet.
Practicing magic was a dangerous activity, and novices needed guidance from their teachers.
