Chapter 6

[SeorinSeorin – Wow, she’s so cute 😭 Is it even allowed to be this adorable?]

[GradSchoolRecruitment – How do we sponsor this broadcast?]

[RichAndSketchy – A dragon? Could it really be a dragon?]

I blinked in a daze as the chat window scrolled rapidly.

To be honest, I had expected that the counselor would bring around two or three people for me.

But I never dreamed that nearly double my prediction—about 20 people—would flood in like a tidal wave.

Confused and embarrassed, I wanted to run away immediately.

But since I was an adult responsible for my actions (even if I was in a child’s body), I wanted to fulfill my duty despite feeling my face grow hot, and so I greeted them.

“Uh… hello.”

My face felt on fire, and I wasn’t even sure what I was saying.

As I hesitated, wondering if I was doing it right, I bowed slightly, causing the chat window to scroll even faster than before.

[SeorinSeorin – Hello, hello ㅠㅠ Oh my gosh, you’re like a princess!]

[GradSchoolRecruitment – Hello.]

[LastNameFirstName – Hi!]

It was the first time I’d received greetings from so many people, and it made me feel a little happy.

Without realizing it, I started smiling broadly, but then quickly hid my grin after seeing my reflection on the screen, forcing my cheeks down with my palms.

‘So stupid.’

I hadn’t expected to feel this happy just because people returned my greeting.

Thinking I must be strange, I tried hard to manage my expression, but…

SWISH SWISH

My tail had no intention of hiding my feelings and was wagging wildly from side to side.

[RichAndSketchy – Judging by the rapid tail wagging, she seems extremely happy. It’s good to see her looking healthy.]

[Pierre – Ehh? Is it okay for a baby to broadcast? She’s cute, so maybe it doesn’t matter.]

[SeorinSeorin – Ahh, too cute. Big sister will definitely buy you some snacks.]

Ah, this isn’t supposed to happen!

I quickly grabbed my tail and hugged it tightly.

Though it resisted by wiggling even more violently, I held on firmly, fearing what chaos might ensue if I let go.

[GradSchoolRecruitment – Chairman of the Association? There doesn’t seem to be a sponsorship function in this broadcast. I remember seeing it in other broadcasts. Could you please add it soon?]

[Hihic – You look healthier than this morning. I was really worried.]

[RichAndSketchy – There’s nothing embarrassing about your tail wagging. It’s a natural behavior, so there’s no need to hide it.]

The number of viewers slowly increased until it reached 40.

Looking at the chats, about a dozen seemed familiar, and I noticed the counselor appeared flustered.

It became clear they had originally intended this to be a small, pampered broadcast among acquaintances.

‘But unexpectedly, many people came.’

The result was utter chaos.

We were now in a situation where we didn’t know how to proceed.

‘What should I do now?’

Even if I ended the broadcast silently, these people wouldn’t criticize or complain about me.

Half of them were here to support me, while the rest were either mildly curious or indifferent.

‘Therefore, I could probably run away and hide without any issues.’

However, I thought it wouldn’t be “adult-like” to ignore those who came to see me.

So, suppressing my embarrassment and confusion, I kept watching the broadcast.

While feeling happy, my tail wagged along with me, sensing my mood.

Just then, a chat caught my eye.

[RichAndSketchy – By the way, has the young dragon built a lair yet?]

“…A lair?”

What’s that? Curiosity piqued, I tilted my head, prompting the mysterious person to explain further in the chat.

[RichAndSketchy – A lair is essentially a kind of home that dragons inevitably acquire.

Oh, don’t misunderstand. When I say ‘home,’ I don’t mean it literally.

Some dragons separate their homes from their lairs.]

So, what exactly is a lair? Is it like a hideout?

My curiosity turned into interest as I stared blankly, eventually asking:

“Then, how do you build a lair?”

[RichAndSketchy – It’s simple. Create a space where you feel psychologically stable in a location of your choice.]

Psychologically stable space…

In my case, I prefer smaller, cozy places over spacious ones.

For instance, spaces like under a desk or under a bed.

‘Of course, I haven’t fit in those spots since growing up.’

I still have vivid memories of crawling into such places when I was little, which made me smile softly. My tail began wagging again.

[RichAndSketchy – So, why not try building a lair during this broadcast? If you have any questions, I’ll help you.]

Moved by this unexpected offer, I bowed deeply.

“Thank you very much.”

Before I realized it, I went down on all fours and performed a full bow.

‘Aah, wrong posture.’

Because of my small body, I couldn’t move as I wished, leading to this mishap.

Attempting to correct it, I decided against repeating the bow, thinking it might look odd.

[SeorinSeorin – Ahhhh ㅠㅠ Are you bowing out of gratitude? So cute…]

[LastNameFirstName – I’ve never seen someone this adorable. Truly a cutie pie. Waaa haha.]

[NyumNyoom – Seriously, she’s such a healing presence. The only one in the Hunter world, it seems.]

After bowing and standing up, messages calling me cute flooded in.

Spotting the oddly familiar nickname SeorinSeorin, I shook my head quickly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

“No, I’m not cute.”

I wanted to say I was more serious and mature, but found self-praise embarrassing, so I stuck with denying being cute, which only made the chat window noisier.

Quickly scanning the rising comments, I felt immense embarrassment and decided to change the subject.

“Lair… Let’s make a lair.”

If I start making a lair, attention will shift to that, so it should be fine.

Trying to emphasize the seriousness of building a lair, I put on a stern face, but…

[ZeroCola – Are you pretending to be serious while saying you’re making a lair? Real babies can’t even lie properly lol.]

[Wayandwae? – Lol true, babies aren’t lying; they’re just really bad at it.]

[GradSchoolRecruitment – There are plenty of spare rooms in the association. You could take one.]

The audience didn’t acknowledge my seriousness, just laughing instead.

Seeing this, I resolved to create a super cool lair to get my revenge (?), and began searching for a suitable spot.

* * * * *

The large community within the Hunter app.

This community typically saw a lot of turnover, so unless a topic was sensational or provocative, posts would quickly get buried.

However, unusually, a non-sensational, non-provocative post remained popular and was currently trending.

[mch Right now, there’s a baby broadcasting on the Hunter app]

– So freaking cute. Never seen a baby this adorable in my life.

Reply: rlly 3 or 4 years old? Despite that, the kid seems super mature and sharp. If she were my cousin, I’d give her my entire salary.

Reply: What? You guys got all this cuteness to yourselves? Next time, tell us an hour before the broadcast starts!

Reply: But isn’t it weird for such a young child to be broadcasting?

Reply: Should be fine though.

Reply: Hurry up and check it out now!

Most users generally liked things that were cute or soothing, though there were certainly exceptions.

However, at least those who showed hostility toward children were few enough to count on one hand, so the overall tone of the posts remained positive toward Hae-un.

[What’s that thing on her head? Is she a dragon?]

– Watching the broadcast now, but there’s a horn on her head and a tail? Could this be a half-dragon, something we’ve only heard about?

Reply: Probably? It’s surprising that half-dragons still exist.

Reply: True, I heard there aren’t many dragons left, so it’s surprising to see a hatchling.

Reply: But is it right to call a half-dragon a dragon? Feels kinda ambiguous.

Reply: Idk, but the Dragon Lord declared that half-dragons are dragons too.

Reply: Oh, yeah, probably because there are so few dragons left. They haven’t seen a new hatchling in 30 years.

Normally, the conversation would stop at “she’s cute,” but due to the horns and tail, interest was growing significantly.

Typically, when interest grows this much, malicious posts often appear amid the hype.

However, because the child looked too young—even too young for kindergarten—such posts disappeared almost instantly before gaining traction.

[Why is the baby dressed like that?]

– Her clothes are not only worn out but also torn. Why is she dressed like this?

Reply: I didn’t notice until now because she’s so darn cute…

Reply: Isn’t this child abuse?

Reply: Looking closer, isn’t that background the Hunter Association’s infirmary? Something must’ve happened.

As interest grew, details that would usually go unnoticed began popping up.

Concern and curiosity mixed together, heating up the discussion, when someone posted something new.

[Rank 5 Hunter and Dragon Perseus here.]

– I’ll officially visit the Hunter Association soon.

Until then, please refrain from baseless speculation and fabrication for the sake of the child.

Reply: That’s reassuring.

Reply: Please give us updates!

Reply: Whoa, Perseus is stepping in? Incredible.

With that, the chaotic speculations in the community settled down.

Partly because of fear of accidental lawsuits, but mostly because being marked by Perseus could severely impact a hunter’s career.

For their own futures, everyone began to restrain themselves.

Just as the heated topic began to cool down and people’s interest started to fade, another explosive post appeared in the community.

[mch The dragon baby’s lair collapsed, and now she’s crying ㅠㅠ]
