[Melgal Wiki]
A new tab has appeared in the Gallery.
Naturally, the members within the Gallery flocked over, but surprisingly, not much informative content was posted.
– What is this supposed to be?
– It’s just a blank page.
So far, the system featured functions, and Gallums had been utilizing them.
Throwing a blank page and asking Gallums to do something felt unfamiliar.
“Isn’t an assignment with no theme the most annoying?”
At this rate, rather than becoming active, it seemed destined to sink.
I needed to induce participation.
After a brief contemplation, I decided to write a new post.
[Topic: Elard]
[Overview]
A forest where the World Tree has grown. The most mana-rich place alive with various mysterious flora and fauna.
Author) 1.13.187
– Oh?
– Something popped up.
– Ah, okay, like this?
A record of Elard that everyone knows.
Using the authority of the Head of the Gallery, I created a new account, making it appear as though someone had participated.
It was a trivial post, but Gallums showed interest in the first-ever entry.
However, that wasn’t enough.
I decided to add a little fuel to the fire.
[Disadvantages]
Pointy-eared self-proclaimed elves reside here. They almost destroyed the ecosystem and nearly killed the World Tree. They can be seen as the main parasites of Elard.
Author) 1.13.187
– What did you say?
– Are you trying to pick a fight here?
– LOL, that’s a fact!
– Hitting bones like crazy, haha!
– 137.7.32) (I acknowledge this fact, Con)
And the moment my post went up, a new topic was uploaded.
As expected, it was about humans.
[Topic: Humans]
[Overview]
An ugly species that mistakenly believes itself to be the dominant race of the world. They are cruel, pleasure-seeking, foolish, and have a short lifespan.
Author) HotElf
– This ears-off critter?
– Does this guy not know the overview?
– Just writing whatever he wants!
– LOL, but this is the correct statement!
– Cozy^_^
But things like that would naturally lead to emotionally charged posts flooding the place.
“Then what’s the point of Melgal Wiki’s existence?”
Having the same old Gallery nonsense simply shift to the Melgal Wiki tab wouldn’t do.
Like some gentlemen from the past, I quietly edited the information section of Melgal Wiki.
[Topic: Humans]
[Overview]
This information post has been deleted.
[HotElf has been banned from Melgal Wiki for 7 days]
Who am I? The god of divide.
– HotElf) Onii-chan, Head of the Gallery?
– LOL, yeah, that was great!
– Exactly!
– Ah, haha, seems too hot, go cool off outside, LOL.
– This is tyranny!
– How can the Head of the Gallery do this!
– (The elf con stomping his feet)
– Head of the Gallery*) It’s principle to delete overly emotional posts, yes;
Naturally, the elves’ arrows came flying at me.
At this point, if I just left a reply indicating I couldn’t help it…
– W-What about that Elard post then!
“Done.”
As expected, the response I anticipated came back.
– Head of the Gallery*) If you want, you can edit the information.
– Huh? We can edit it?
Then my role was over.
Announcement posts? Terms of use?
Nobody reads those boring things anyway.
Instead, I thought it would be fun to attract some attention and teach how to use it like this.
Right on cue, a usage example presented itself.
[Recently edited – Elard/Disadvantages]
Elves live here and prefer to cherish the World Tree while living in harmony with nature.
Author) FairySavesTheWorld
– Phew.
– It’s done. Now it’s perfect!
The fact that anyone can write means anyone can also edit.
And just as the elves felt at ease, the disadvantages section was edited again.
[Recently edited – Elard/Disadvantages]
Pointy-eared self-proclaimed elves live here. They destroy ecosystems and are the most dangerous pests to the World Tree.
And with even more extreme content.
– W-Who did this again?!
– The most dangerous pest to the World Tree?? Don’t fabricate things!
– Head of the Gallery, this is also an emotional info post!
– Exactly! Why aren’t you deleting this?!
The elves became enraged once more.
Especially since it was filled with more emotion than the previous human overview post, but they weren’t getting warned this time.
Yet, there was a reason for that.
– Head of the Gallery*) Why would I restrict someone from editing their own information?
– Huh?
– You mean by themselves? No way…
Author) 137.7.32
None other than the one editing that information was 137.7.32, the World Tree itself.
– 137.7.32) (I’m going to kill them, Con)
– Heeeek!
– Heeeek!
There had been similar sites in the previous world.
The issue was that there were restrictions on someone editing their own information, while false information ran rampant.
But here, if you wanted to put down information, your nickname was recorded.
– Then who’s going to write anything?
– For real, there’s punishment but no reward, huh?
Of course, such concerns arose as well.
But I had a plan to deal with that.
And while I was preparing that answer, Melgal Wiki continued to update vigorously.
[Topic: Monsters]
[Topic: Rift]
…
Especially in fields where people are most closely involved and interested, updates were fast.
Maybe it was because almost all Gallums had gathered?
Even though it had just begun, the number of information edits and reports flooded in incessantly.
– Head of the Gallery, there’s an information error post, fix it!
– What if it’s someone lying about being themselves?
– Ah; tactical nuke was uploaded, please delete it, damn it;
– Head of the Gallery! There’s elf adult content up!
– Head of the Gallery*) Thank you!
– Huh?
The problem was that with so many inquiries, I was just one person.
Of course, I had my unpaid slave, the Deputy of the Gallery, but…
“That’s too much.”
I couldn’t put that on the Deputy, who was already just helping to manage the Gallery, receiving only tuna cans and other items.
“Ah… Is there no one who’d take care of the incessantly incoming edit requests fairly and earnestly as if it’s their own job?”
With this level of interest, even dozens of people appointed as managers would be short-staffed, right?
But then, just when I thought I found a good candidate.
– 137.7.32) (Hand raised, Con)
– Head of the Gallery*) Oh, you called?
– 137.7.32) (Thumping chest, Con)
Right there was the ancestor of Melgal Wiki.
The representative of Namuwiki, the tree.
It’s the World Tree itself taking up the mantle of the manager.
*
One day since the activation of the Melgal Wiki tab.
Melgal Wiki was enjoying enormous popularity.
The number of users didn’t drop below tens of thousands with continuous updates rolling out.
I thought it was significant that what was once considered the domain of intellectuals and the privileged had become accessible to everyone.
The influx of many eventually led to a shared information repository on common issues.
[Topic: Black Plague]
[Table of Contents]
1. Overview
2. Case Studies
3. Advantages
4. Disadvantages
5. Prevention Methods
– Thanks, Wiki Wagon!
– (I appear! Head Con)
– (I appear! Body Con)
– (I’ll deal with the disruption… Con)
– (I appear! Leg Con)
– I have the Black Plague and hit the upvote button!
– What the hell, why are you voting?
Particularly, the prevention methods tab for the Black Plague prioritized the Gallery Doctors.
So when erroneous information went up, it was instantly corrected and fixed.
This continued to raise awareness and preventive measures among the people.
And all of this was greatly aided by the passionate wiki contributions of the World Tree.
Head of the Gallery*: Is it manageable?
137.7.32: (This has the World Tree’s recommendation! Con)
Head of the Gallery*: Thank you, thank you! While it isn’t a reward, if you need anything, I’ll fetch it for you!
137.7.32: (Marry me right now, Con!)
The World Tree had existed for an incredibly long time and had lived in boredom and tedium.
But recently, it had come to learn about the Gallery, and now that it knew of Melgal Wiki, it had fallen down the wiki rabbit hole.
On top of that, being neither human nor needing food or sleep, it became the WikiWikiWiki!
Especially with the addition of video features, the activation of Melgal Wiki increased dramatically.
– Wait, is that moving?
– These GIFs are on a whole other level!
– Damn, why am I watching the sword-making process?!
Some even entered a trance, watching random videos on any topic.
Moreover, the videos applied not just to the wiki, but to the Gallery as well.
Naturally, the number of lurkers decreased and the frequency of various videos being uploaded increased.
– Beautiful volcanic landscape video
– Video of exterminating our household rats
– A video just of making a bow
[Title: Thanks, Head of the Gallery!]
(A video of the Rabbitfolk winking while smiling)
(A video of the Rabbitfolk farming in the carrot field)
[Recommended 9999+] [Not recommended 3]
– Wow, haha
– This is a heartwarming post after a while
– Such a kind-hearted person!
– I want to become a carrot stuck in that field.
– Upload a pic of yourself shyly putting your hands together showing off your heart…
– (Serious knight Con)
– This too, is for Kellierhton…
– What the hell is this meme?
– I can’t keep up…
– Head of the Gallery*) Haha, I’m the one who thanks you more!
– LOL, these kinds of posts never miss a comment!
– (No adult content allowed! Con)
More than anything, it was delightful to see fight scenes or other various content coming in longer formats than just memes.
Someday, when videos became familiar, they would probably return to the easy-to-view meme formats.
“Isn’t it fun, have a drink.”
Looking at the overflowing Gallery, I felt a sense of satisfaction.
But as always, people are diverse, and various issues were bound to arise.
[Title: So, is there anything we get?]
It’s nice having a new system, but…
In the end, isn’t all we’re doing just recording knowledge we already know?
With the Head of the Gallery’s privilege, couldn’t certain information be intentionally misrepresented?
And if we post something, will there be any rewards for us?
Everyone is excited, but I honestly have some doubts about the Head of the Gallery’s intentions…
– Wow, even if you create a system, LOL.
– Haha, it’s just to mess around with, haha!
– Let’s ban this guy from the Gallery!
– Teacher, could you hold your breath for just 5 minutes, please?
In conclusion, there’s no reward in putting information up on Melgal Wiki, no?
But giving away Mana Pills as rewards wasn’t a viable option either.
Because if that happened, I feared it would deviate from the original intent somehow.
“But I do want to give something to Gallums who actively contribute to the wiki…”
Something that isn’t too much of a reward but would provide adequate motivation.
While leaving the wiki management up to the World Tree, I had something in mind.
Before Melgal Wiki’s popularity waned, I wrote a new announcement.
[Notice: Hi]
Author: Head of the Gallery*
I am thinking of introducing a new ranking system in Melgal Wiki:
1. Most entries of information
2. Most viewed entries
3. Most memes and video attachments
Etc.
Gallums meeting those conditions will receive small gifts:
1. Two Golden Olive chickens
2. 30 Zero Coca-Cola 250ml cans
3. Three bulgogi hamburger sets
4. Something similar that you can request
Much appreciation!
“Well, this should be a decent little motivation.”
I finished putting together items that had not been uploaded to the Head of the Gallery Marketplace.
I thought this would successfully draw attention.
And one hour after that announcement went up.
Melgal Wiki began to overflow with simultaneous connections.
