Chapter 205 Remnants of the Deity Part 2
So painful, so painful, so painful…
“Ahh… Ahh…”
Damn it…
What in the world is this!
Inconceivable, unbelievable, my mind goes blank from lack of oxygen. Complex emotions surge with extreme pain, piercing through my bones. I no longer have the strength to struggle. My eyes start rolling back, and I feel as if all my blood is rushing to my head. It’s hard to imagine that I, now, would be here, helpless against some inexplicable vascular tentacles.
Damn… ghostly thing…
My limbs were severed. The indestructible armor on my body is shattering and falling off in large pieces. Fresh red blood flows and splatters before my blurry vision. A deep sense of fatigue washes over me, and I feel my consciousness starting to blur.
Dabai…
The white dragon, lying not far beneath me, slowly turns its large eyes towards me. I see it breathing heavily, directing its gaze at me.
I can’t sleep…
I haven’t saved it yet…
Damn it…
Using my last bit of strength, I open my mouth and bite down hard on my own tongue.
My limbs have gone numb, but sharp pain still shoots from my mouth, tasting the metallic sweetness of my blood.
Gory red light flashes from my eyes in the next moment.
Whoosh—
A howling wind arises, those dead fumes that had dispersed around me suddenly gather again, forming thick smoke serpents. They carry ear-piercing sounds, stirring up a whirlwind of black destruction. A green giant hand emerges from the whirlwind, transforming into a blade, slicing through the air with a shriek, and slashing down at the tentacle wrapped around my neck!
Pfft!
The thick, slimy blood vessel is severed instantly, dark brown blood spurting out. The pressure around my neck suddenly eases, and I widen my eyes, taking a deep breath.
“Hur—… Cough, cough!!”
It feels like I’ve come back to life in an instant.
Never before have I felt such happiness in simply breathing in air.
The sensation of oxygen entering my lungs and circulating to my brain is vividly clear. I breathe heavily, regaining the senses that had been taken away. The intensifying pain dispels the drowsiness, making my mind crystal clear. I control my green arm, swiftly severing several reaching blood vessels. In the next moment, a second green arm extends from the swirling black mist!
“Ughaaaaaaaah!!”
Blood dripping from my mouth, my delicate voice screams hysterically. At the moment more blood-red tentacles reach out, the crimson in my eyes fades, turning into the brilliance of sapphire blue. The surging order power erupts, creating a deafening explosion. A frigid cold current, carrying countless ice fragments, spreads rapidly like an explosion.
Crack, crack…
The surrounding air turns cold, and the sound of crushed ice echoes from every direction. Though the freezing fog dissipates instantly, it freezes countless blood vessels into ice spears, stopping just short of my face. Along with the ones wrapped around my body, they stop writhing and become stiff in the cold.
My head feels like it’s being torn apart.
The backlash from using forbidden power in this world almost drives me mad. It’s more intense than breaking limbs, like my head is exploding. The pain makes me twist my body uncontrollably, blood spilling from my mouth and dripping down my chin, my vision turning crimson.
“Ahhhhh!!”
Headache, headache, headache, headache!!!
I scream in agony, trembling as I try to endure the madness-inducing pain. Meanwhile, I continue to control my green arms, swinging them to shatter the frozen tentacles. Those wrapping around my limbs are also shattered, scattering shimmering ice crystals and red flesh laced with green veins. The force binding me vanishes, and my body starts to fall.
“Dabai…”
My voice trembles as I call out the dragon’s name.
My hands are broken, my legs are broken, the power of the blazing fire…
Inside, unable to function, my injuries were healing slowly with only the nourishment of Chaos Power. I had fallen into a state where I couldn’t move at all. My head fell forward, colliding with the blood web and bouncing back. The speed of my descent was accelerating.
But I still have wings…
After a while, the excruciating pain that made life seem unbearable gradually faded away. My body relaxed slightly, the redness in my vision receded, and my muddled rationality regained some clarity. Taking a deep breath, I gritted my teeth and flipped in mid-air. The fiery wings on my back flapped abruptly, carrying my weak body toward the direction where the white dragon lay.
The white dragon heard the commotion, lifted its weak head from among the entangled blood web, and let out a “huh-huh” wheezing sound. The golden light on its body grew brighter, and in its half-closed eyes, there was a faintly human-like, almost pleading gaze.
Da Bai…
It’s been a year, and I see you again…
Do you still recognize me…
I came to save you…
I wanted to reach out to it, but my hand was limp and could not move.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh—
In the next moment, more, densely packed vascular tentacles emerged from the gaps in the blood web and from all corners, visible or invisible, wriggling and surging crazily.
They engulfed me.
In an instant, the dead smoke, black flames, frost mist, and the light of the raging power burst forth within the blood web. The cyan arm swung violently, almost at a speed imperceptible to the eye, like a meat grinder. The ice-encased dark blood and the chaotic-infested red flesh fragments flew everywhere. The girl let out a desperate roar, trying her best to resist the countless vascular tentacles rushing at her. But in less than two seconds, she was submerged in these disgusting worm-like creatures.
Then she was thrown back.
Fierce tentacles converged into a thick tube column about ten meters in diameter, using extremely strong and irresistible force to push the girl’s severely injured body out of the blood web, out of the large pit, towards the higher part of the rock peak. Like the force of a train collision, it completely crushed the battered armor, and countless small whips covered in blood struck her body, tearing her smooth skin open and causing blood to flow profusely.
“Cough…”
The girl flew out of the large pit, spitting up blood in mid-air. Her tiny body trailed blood streaks as it traced a long arc through the dim sky filled with flying debris and drifting ashes. As the tentacles retracted back into the blood web, she fell onto the rock peak.
Consciousness began to blur again.
Pain…
I couldn’t save Da Bai…
I hurt so much…
I can’t feel my own body anymore…
The wind howled around me, and the intense feeling of weightlessness invaded. I couldn’t move in mid-air, and my head was filled with pain. The dead smoke coiling around me dissipated entirely, dizziness making me retch uncontrollably. I wanted to do something, but I couldn’t do anything, only watching helplessly as I fell down.
It’s been a long time…
since I felt this close to death…
for a very long time… before…
I thought I was powerful enough to have no enemies left…
Whoosh—
In a daze, a sharp, piercing screech tore through the air, heading straight for me.
Brown light flashed momentarily in my blurred vision. It seemed to be a sharp spear, roughly the size of a forearm, coming at me at incredible speed, but not aimed at my body.
The sharp wind whistle “whooshed” and tore through my dress. The spear almost precisely pierced between my legs, passing through the already tattered skirt, and “bang” deeply embedded itself into the rock behind.
Bang!
My head collided fiercely with a protruding stone, stopping my fall suddenly. The skirt emitted another tear, and my body swayed in mid-air, hanging upside down from the high rock wall by the spear. After a long period of confusion, consciousness slowly returned and cleared.
In my hazy vision, countless huge rocks seemed to lose their gravity, floating up and down in the air filled with drifting ashes.
I saw a dancer in a red dress standing upside down on one of the floating giant rocks. Her skirt fluttered in the wind, like a red bat spread out its wings, hanging from the cave ceiling.
