Chapter 558: Throne of the Gods
Time seemed to blur here. As the pale gray light spread, everyone and everything it touched became irreversible crystalline white.
One person, three people, ten people—within a fraction of a second, this gray light rapidly approached Byness and the others.
When the gray light appeared, Byness immediately sensed something was wrong, but there was too little time for her to react. Even at Sequence 9, she could not handle such a sudden and terrifying attack at this close range.
This was no ordinary spell or skill; it was a full-powered strike imbued with the powers of a witch.
If Byness had one or two seconds to prepare, she might have been able to handle it, albeit injured. But now, she felt her life would cease amidst the rapidly spreading white crystals.
At the moment the gray light bloomed, the silver-haired girl beside Byness also shone brightly.
As the radiance in her eyes flared, a fleeting azure hue flashed beneath her hood.
Dreamlike blue butterflies fluttered before her, their delicate wings touching the gray light and instantly losing their color, turning gray and white, falling from the sky, breaking upon impact, scattering into countless white particles.
Due to the urgency, Lolan Hill could not warn Byness in time. While searching, she triggered her hairpin, ready to act. Finally, she released the means left by Trinasha just in the nick of time.
Before the girl, the butterflies rapidly turned gray and fell, and the gray light finally stopped, unable to advance any further.
Using a skill beyond her limits caused Lolan Hill’s consciousness to throb violently with pain, her mind becoming dizzy and blurred.
Just as her body swayed, about to fall, a hand carefully supported her from beside.
“Thank you. Let me handle the rest,” said the familiar voice, the last thing Lolan Hill heard before losing consciousness.
—
Golden moonlight suddenly bloomed in the night sky, illuminating Mount Calenriel, making it seem like day.
Countless people were awakened from their sleep, walking out of temples and residences to gaze at the distant mountain peak, where the surging magic energy churned the night sky like a vortex.
Golden light particles danced like fireflies across the mountains, like fierce winds weaving through the valleys, suppressing the millions of Extraordinary Beings on Mount Calenriel, preventing them from using their powers in this glorious Holy Land.
At the pinnacle of the world, the strength of Sequence 9 was fully displayed.
The light particles in the sky gathered to form a string of small olives, connected by golden threads, hanging down like curtains, covering the entire Mount Calenriel. Everything touched by them slowed down, almost coming to a standstill.
In this nearly frozen world, the magnificent golden moon became the sole ruler, controlling everything.
—
In Lolan Hill’s sleeping consciousness.
It was as if she had fallen into a very deep ocean, the light above dimming and growing farther away. All sounds and clamor faded away, the world becoming eerily silent, devoid of any sound or living thing.
Time became an unperceivable concept, everything frozen in place.
She seemed to have fallen into an eternal dream from which she could never awaken.
There was no light, no color in the dream.
Time passed, time passed.
Years and time flowed endlessly, strangely moving in the opposite direction of normal time.
Time passed, time passed.
And in the endless darkness, a tiny ray of light finally appeared.
The sleeping girl heard a faint voice.
Unfortunately, the voice remained indistinct, only gradually becoming clearer after a long time. It seemed to be two voices she did not recognize.
Male: “I didn’t expect us to be on duty again tonight.”
Female: “Ha, you’re really bold. Didn’t you specifically request a shift change? I know your intentions.”
Male: “Uh, give some face. There aren’t many peers in the base, who knows, we might work together for decades.”
Female: “Fine, I won’t argue with you. When you start putting effort into experiments, then it’ll be different. You know, our ‘Primordial Heart’ faction is being suppressed by the ‘Mechanical Parliament’ girls, struggling to breathe.”
Female: “A newly rising faction, yet it has become so powerful so quickly. Could it be that electronics and AI are the only way forward? Such a world would be truly cruel.”
Male: “Humans have achieved the superhuman powers they once dreamed of, but there are still those who want to follow the old path. What’s even more surprising is that these people following the old ways adapt to this world better than our emerging superhuman factions.”
Female: “The irony of the times is that when you try to achieve something great, people with short-term gains always interrupt. Now I don’t know how long the organization can last, whether it can support us in realizing this great cause.”
Male: “External power and convenience cannot fill internal voids. Only achieving a flawless heart can elevate the entire species to the next stage. If we fail to reach this goal, humanity will expand infinitely, making any current systems unsustainable and eventually collapse.”
Female: “If we pursue inner perfection, then ‘Tree of Life’ and ‘Mechanical Parliament’ pursue outer perfection. I do not deny the necessity of external strength, but chasing external power blindly will lead to increasing differences among groups when numbers expand, making understanding increasingly difficult. Eventually, nations and organizations will fragment like cookies.”
Female: “And fragmented groups will give rise to endless wars and conflicts.”
Male: “But ‘Mechanical Parliament’ seems to offer another answer. If everyone is just a working machine, there won’t be any dissenting voices.”
Female: “But isn’t such a world no different from death? Those are just speaking corpses.”
Male: “We can’t stop it now. We can only place our hopes on the four prototypes before us.”
At this moment, Lolan Hill’s consciousness finally saw the scene: a vast underground space filled with precision instruments. In the spacious laboratory, a man and a woman stood before floating transparent screens, watching data scroll above.
As the screens cleared, Lolan Hill finally read the inscription.
‘Project 1654 – God’s Throne Plan’
Behind the screens were four towering glass columns, each standing in a different direction, colored with flowing blue light, static gray-white, vivid red, and subtle light blue.
The God’s Throne Plan, based on four absolutely pure souls selected from global archaeological excavations and countless fragmented spirits, could reflect human hearts and understand connections.
With this foundation, using these four souls as models, a staircase of the soul would be constructed, connecting billions of hearts, ultimately forming the throne of a god. A flawless god would appear at the end of this staircase.
This god’s throne would be the answer to all questions, the omnipotent cauldron achieving everything. It would unite all superhumans of the race to achieve the feats of distorting reality, reversing time, and opening space.
This was the key to the world. Humans would use it to open the door to the next phase, achieving a leap for the entire species.
These four souls were the prototypes of the gods, the Primordial Four.
—
While Lolan Hill closely observed the various data and explanations of the plan, the two people in the laboratory began talking again.
“You noticed, the red glass column has shifted 2 millimeters to the right.”
“Hehe, couldn’t be helped, that child. After all, fire loves to stay with wind.”
As the view widened, the plaques on the glass columns came into focus.
Vast azure waters, Sivanel.
Fiery crimson flames, Klorathy.
Grayish crystalline rocks, Brennard.
Pure and changing winds, Lolan Hill.

Gradually revealing, 0 0 / Actually, the previous era had too many events. Writing them all would probably require a spin-off book.
