Chapter 55: Double Happiness Arrives
Time continued to pass, and several days went by without a visit from Airael’s aunt.
At this point, Airael was quite certain that she was indeed pregnant.
Sitting on her bed, she looked down at her belly, a happy smile gracing her lips.
A blissful flavor tinged her joy, something she hadn’t quite realized.
All Airael could think of was that she finally had a child, which meant she had her very own heir.
She had been dreaming of this for quite a while.
Now, her wish had finally come true.
Just as Airael was lost in her joy, outside the camp, four figures were hurrying toward her.
It was Celia, Aurora, and the others who had left earlier.
They were carrying their trophies on their backs—firearms!
After accepting the mission, they had rushed toward the Dwarven territory.
And things went even more smoothly than they had anticipated.
They encountered a Dwarven patrol squad at the border.
After ambushing this patrol, they secured the Dwarven’s new weapons and successfully completed their mission.
“Miss, we’re back!”
Just as Airael was still basking in her inner joy, Celia and Aurora entered the tent with their firearms.
Airael looked up, smiling, “Celia, did you finish your task?”
Truly, it was double happiness coming together.
“Completed.”
Celia stepped forward and handed the firearm on her back to Airael.
Airael took the firearm and began to examine it carefully.
After playing with it for a while, she sighed:
“I never expected the Dwarves could develop something like this so quietly.”
“Miss, the Dwarves just love to dabble in these unconventional things.”
Celia replied.
“Celia, we can’t call these unconventional; they’re ultimate weapons!”
“Are they powerful? I don’t really think so.”
Celia shook her head.
“Of course, they’re powerful! If they weren’t, how could the Georgia Kingdom fall so quickly?”
“I think the Georgia Kingdom is just too weak.”
“Celia, you’re wrong to think that.”
This time, it was Airael shaking her head.
“Miss, I’ve seen the weapon’s performance with my own eyes. It’s undeniable that it’s very powerful, and it makes a terrifying noise, but its accuracy is really poor.”
“Celia, have you considered what would happen if we improve its accuracy? Moreover, think about it: on the battlefield, when thousands of these weapons unleash their fury against thousands of arranged opponents, does accuracy really matter?”
Celia furrowed her brows, starting to imagine such a scenario in her mind.
“No, accuracy doesn’t matter that much in that case!”
She answered herself, while Airael chimed in.
“Not to mention, once it has accuracy, it’ll truly become a devastating weapon.”
“Miss, you seem to know a lot about this weapon. Have you seen it before?”
Celia looked at Airael and asked.
“What do you think?”
Airael gave Celia a mysterious smile.
Celia opened her mouth but didn’t say anything.
“Alright, Celia, let’s put this aside for now. I have other matters to discuss with you.”
“What matters?”
“We need to prepare to go back soon.”
“Go back? Back where?”
“Of course back to Avalon! Celia, don’t tell me you forgot your own home after stepping out for a while!”
Airael rolled her eyes at her.
“Of course not! It’s just that you didn’t make it clear, so I was a bit confused.”
Airael didn’t want to argue too much with Celia, saying, “I’ve accomplished the things I wanted to do this time, so it’s time to go back. There are still many things waiting for me back home!”
“When are we setting off?”
Faced with Celia’s question, Airael was quiet.
Even though she had decided to leave, at the moment of departure, she suddenly felt a bit reluctant.
After a while, Airael replied, “I haven’t thought it over yet. I’ll make a decision after I ponder it carefully.”
“Understood!”
“You two can go now. I’d like to be alone for a while.”
“Understood!”
Celia and Aurora exited together.
Once they were gone, Airael sighed heavily.
She knew this was quite selfish, but there was no way around it.
She was the Elven Queen, and she had to return to the Elven Race.
Plus, she needed to take her child back with her.
Not long after Airael was able to enjoy her solitude, Arthur came over with the Dwarven’s new weapons.
“Ailia, you’ve probably seen the Dwarven’s new weapon, right?”
Seeing him, Airael collected herself and pointed at the firearm in the tent that she hadn’t put away yet, saying, “I’ve seen it; it’s just that Celia and the others brought it to me.”
“What’s up? Ailia, you don’t look so well.”
At this moment, Arthur noticed something was off with Airael.
“It’s nothing; I just haven’t been resting well these past few days.”
“If you’re not feeling well, we should find a doctor to take a look.”
Arthur suggested.
These past few days, Airael hadn’t allowed herself to be touched.
She claimed it was due to her health and needed a good rest.
“No need! I’m feeling much better now.”
Airael hurriedly shook her head, a smile creeping onto her face. “Arthur, let’s get back to business!”
If the doctor came, her pregnancy would surely be exposed.
For now, Airael hadn’t figured out how to tell Arthur, or maybe she would prefer not to tell him at all.
“I heard from Sal that while this weapon has great power, its accuracy is quite poor and hardly hits anything. I was just wondering, if that’s the case, then the Georgia Kingdom must really be weak.”
Airael couldn’t help but smile wryly.
She repeated what she had told Celia to Arthur, letting him imagine such a scene.
Once he conjured that image in his mind, Arthur’s expression changed immediately.
“So, this new weapon only shows its true power when there are enough of them?”
“Not necessarily. There’s still room for improvement, like its accuracy. When I first used Fireball Technique, my accuracy was terrible, but with practice, it got better.”
“So, this weapon has room for further progress,” Arthur was quite surprised.
“Mm! So, Arthur, you need to quickly assemble a research team to help develop new weapons while also enhancing this one. This weapon has immense potential.”
“I understand.”
Arthur nodded vigorously.
