Chapter 522: First Visit to Aquarius Palace
After spending some time in the Holy Land, Lolan Hill gradually became familiar with some of its regulations.
If she wanted to gain access to the secret books within the Church, there were only three methods available to her:
1. Officially join the Church, work for three years, and obtain the Silver Feather Badge, which would allow her to review some confidential materials.
2. Make significant contributions to the Church and receive the Golden Candle Badge as a gift.
3. This method was more cunning; it involved requesting to review some books under the guise of an exchange student promoting mutual progress. She could only enter the restricted reading room after being approved by the priests.
The first method was too lengthy, and the second was currently out of reach, so the third method offered the most possibilities.
Thus, in addition to her studies, Lohil also began writing some insights about the cultivation of angelic sequences, which was akin to writing papers in her previous life.
Looking at the stack of papers beside her desk, Lohil put down her quill pen and sighed, realizing that no matter where one conducted research, they couldn’t escape the torment of writing papers.
Knowing something oneself was one thing, but explaining and proving it to others was another.
Back in high school, she had seen classmates ask a top student for help, who simply said to plug in a formula, as natural as drinking water, while the others looked bewildered.
They had to explain and illustrate it in various ways for quite some time before others slowly understood.
She glanced out the window; night was falling.
Due to the limited number of exchange students, they all had individual bedrooms.
Lohil walked to the window and smelled a floral scent, seemingly coming from the trees behind the church.
She looked up but found no flowers.
Shaking her head, she ignored the source of the fragrance, closed the lattice glass window, and inserted the bolt. Then, carrying an orange-yellow lantern, she entered the corridor next to her room.
It was time for dinner.
Out of frugality, the passageways weren’t lit, and people generally carried lanterns when traveling at night.
Turning through the dim corridor, as she approached the kitchen, the sounds of lively chatter grew louder.
Pushing open the slightly ajar wooden door, bright lights filled her eyes.
At this moment, the table beside the kitchen was already crowded with people.
“Lohil has arrived.” Jelica waved to invite the girl over.
“I thought you wouldn’t come for dinner. You’ve been writing non-stop lately,” someone remarked.
“Yes, I’ve finished,” Lohil nodded and picked up a spoon, sipping the vegetable and lean meat porridge in her bowl, which had cooled down and wasn’t very hot.
“In a few days, this phase of learning will end, and we’ll probably go to different departments for practical training,” Jelica explained the future course schedule, her tone tinged with reluctance.
“What department do you plan to go to, Lohil?”
“I’m thinking of becoming a nun at Aquarius Palace, responsible for treating injured pilgrims,” Lohil replied.
“Oh, that must be quite tough. There’s no war now, and the knights mainly practice, unlike Aquarius Palace, which is always busy.”
“Is Chief Lohil going to Aquarius Palace?” The others asked curiously. This slender girl, as the exchange student leader, garnered considerable attention.
“Haise is going to Elephant Mountain Palace, and I plan to go to Ten Sword Palace,” Crow added, then the others continued sharing their destinations.
Within the Holy Land, there were twelve palaces symbolizing twelve different departments, along with three major knight orders, the Papal Hall, and the Judgment Bureau.
Aquarius Palace primarily handled healing wounds and diseases. Elephant Mountain Palace focused on construction and carving, with the White Elephant Guards being well-known. These heavily armored warriors were nearly invincible, guarding some narrow passages in the Holy Land.
Ten Sword Palace mainly maintained discipline and public safety, having certain law enforcement powers.
The Holy Lance Knight Order was quite famous, with approximately 200,000 Holy Lance Knights spread across churches throughout the continent. Eighty thousand were stationed in the Holy Land, with formal members reaching Sequence 3 strength, and reserve members reaching Sequence 2 strength. They were the backbone force against enemies during the chaotic calamity.
“I, I’m also going to Aquarius Palace,” Bo Li timidly raised her hand.
“It seems Bo Li has finally found her mainstay,” several people joked.
As the smallest in the group, Bo Li had always followed everyone closely. Hearing that they would soon separate, she was extremely worried. Fortunately, Lohil was also going to Aquarius Palace, which relieved her greatly.

Five days later.
A senior nun from Aquarius Palace was introducing some facilities and personnel to two new members.
“You usually live in this room. If you have any problems, feel free to ask me or the older nuns around. Everyone here will help you.”
“Thank you,” Lohil and Bo Li bowed, then watched the plump nun leave before beginning to organize their new room.
The windows faced east, with white walls, two beds not far apart, a desk, two chairs, and other furniture—enough for their needs.
“There are so many people in Aquarius Palace,” Bo Li commented after putting down her belongings and looking out the window at the nuns walking by.
“It’s said that there are about 8,000 members of Aquarius Palace on Mount Carunriel, and another 4,000 in other parts of the Holy Land. That’s quite a lot.”
“How can there be so many people and still be so busy?”
“That I’m not sure about, but we’ll find out tomorrow.”
“Rest well.”
“Yeah,” Bo Li nodded.

The next morning.
Following their usual routine, they woke up and, after turning a few corners, arrived at a small kitchen where two nuns and one cultivator were busy, bringing out freshly baked white bread and placing them in baskets.
“You two little ones, are you the new arrivals?” One of the nuns greeted them.
“Just wait a bit, let the bread cool down before eating.”
She brought two thick slices of bread and placed them in front of them, then took two boiled eggs from the stove.
“Eat these too. You’re so young to be here at Aquarius Palace, really hard work.”
Lohil and Bo Li obediently ate their breakfast and tidied their black nun robes before entering the medium-sized palace they had discussed yesterday.
“You’re here? Perfect, take these,” a nun with tied hair handed them a board and notebook.
“Your task today is to carefully ask the patients where they feel uncomfortable and record it. Report anything severe directly to me.”
“Okay.”
They started their work.
These pilgrims from all over the world, including the Eastern Continent, mostly had gaunt faces and various illnesses. They were uniformly housed in several large halls, with beds lined up side by side, totaling hundreds of people.
Since Lolan Hill had just arrived, she hadn’t been given difficult tasks but was allowed to familiarize herself with the procedures and do simple things.
In her thorough inquiries, she discovered an unusual pilgrim.

PS: On the first day of the month, I hit a writer’s block. Originally, I planned to write more, but ended up stuck from morning till night. Will write a side story to take a break and continue the main storyline tomorrow.
