Chapter 507

Chapter 507. Daily Life at the Icarus Base.

The next morning.

Waking up to a refreshing, literal “good morning,” as always, I munched on some simple toast provided by the base chefs and headed off for a pleasant commute to the command center.

As soon as I settled into my dedicated command seat, Jessica, as usual, approached me from the side.

“Commander, here are today’s daily quests.”

“Hmm.”

“And here’s your morning coffee to wake you up, no cream or sugar.”

“Same juicy menu as always, huh?”

As always, I nodded in satisfaction at the introduction of daily quests and the morning beverage.

After spending a perfectly ordinary morning like that, I looked out the massive window of the command center…

– Kueeeeng!

– Kiiieeeek!

– Kiieeng!

I saw the three Krakens, including the new one I had recently recruited, floating around happily…

– Kwadddduk!

– Kwaduk!

– Kwajijik!

“Oh…”

“They’re having a timely breakfast, aren’t they?”

…No, I could see the three of them clinging to the side of an unaffiliated pirate’s battleship, gnawing at it like a pod of orcas hunting a shark.

To be precise, right next to the ships the Krakens were eating, the Pirate Alliance fleet that Marian had brought was detaining the unaffiliated pirates’ ships.

It seemed like once the Krakens finished eating the ships, they would release the detained ships as their next meal.

“What is that, omakase?”

“What’s that, Commander?”

“…It’s a thing.”

Of course, since such a situation couldn’t happen inside the base, the entire process was taking place outside the Tanhoizer.

As a result, this scene was visible to anyone docking at the Tanhoizer or living nearby…

Title: WTF, the Pirate Alliance is doing omakase for the Krakens at Tanhoizer

For real.

Once the three Krakens finish eating, they take the armor plates, and the detained ships are given as their next meal.

Watching the Krakens eat is like watching lobsters feast—it’s oddly mesmerizing.

The main pic is just the three Kraken sisters happily sharing a battleship.

Why did I post this?

Honestly, just so you guys can see it too.

It’s kinda like watching a pet video on YouTube, so take a healing break and enjoy.

Comments:

– [Why is this happening?]

– [They’re a bit too big to be pets…]

– [Breakfast mukbang already?]

– [What is this lol]

– [Why are they so cute while eating?]

– [Why do you call them sisters?]

– [Because they’re ships, so they’re female?] (Author)

– [What are you talking about? Last time, Icarus revealed that all Krakens are male.]

– [Oh, for real?] (Author)

– [I’m even more intrigued now.] (Author)

– [Wait, what did you just say?]

—————————————–

Seeing the unexpected morning trend of the Krakens’ live mukbang session, I noticed that the Tanhoizer users were turning it into a healing trend (???) on the forums.

And as I watched the Krakens’ feast, I decided to shove the rest of my toast into my mouth.

==========

Anyway, after finishing my breakfast while watching the three Krakens’ mukbang…

“Jessica, where’s Marian right now?”

“She had some business with the Pirate Alliance, so she’s probably at Eclipse for now.”

“Then contact the fleet feeding them and tell them to stop giving the Krakens more ships.”

“Huh? Already?”

“Yeah, No. 1 and No. 2 are fine, but… looking at No. 3’s belly, it’s about to overeat.”

“Ah, I see.”

Since it was obvious that overeating would lead to a debuff, I contacted the Pirate Alliance to end the Krakens’ meal time.

Watching No. 3, who was in its growth phase, whining for more food while No. 1 and No. 2 dragged it away with their tentacles, I decided to assess the fleet’s status.

But before that…

“Oh, right, Jessica, tell Tiamat to take the Krakens out for today’s daily quests to help them digest.”

“Yes, Commander.”

As always, WWE—no, daily quests—came first.

Anyway, after handling all the urgent tasks, I leisurely checked the fleet status…

**Fleet Status**

Total Points: 1,158/1,050 Points

– Siege Battleship (Annihilation Type): 1 ship, 120 points each = 120 points

– Assault Combat Aircraft Carrier: 3 ships, 110 points each = 330 points

– Dreadnought: 3 ships, 100 points each = 300 points

– Aircraft Carrier: 0 ships, 70 points each = 0 points

– Arsenal Ship: 1 ship, 70 points each = 70 points

– Salvage Ship: 1 ship, 50 points each = 50 points

– Battleship: 1 ship, 45 points each = 45 points

– Battleship: 1 ship, 40 points each = 40 points

– Aetheric Submarine: 1 ship, 50 points each = 50 points

– Light Aircraft Carrier: 0 ships, 40 points each = 0 points

– Cruiser Battleship: 0 ships, 30 points each = 0 points

– Heavy Cruiser: 0 ships, 10 points each = 0 points

– Light Cruiser: 0 ships, 6 points each = 0 points

– Destroyer: 47 ships, 3 points each = 141 points

– Escort Ship: 0 ships, 1.5 points each = 0 points

– Patrol Ship: 0 ships, 1 point each = 0 points

– Resource Mining Ship: 8 ships, 1.5 points each = 12 points

The glaring “exceeded point limit” and the battleship sitting there like a sore thumb were really getting on my nerves.

**Last time, during the Xenobia Empire’s invasion…**

Betraying the universal gamer belief that “big ships are always right,” my cruiser battleships and battleships were torn apart like tofu and sunk. I was deeply annoyed by their disgraceful performance.

So, I decided not only to abandon building additional cruiser battleships and battleships but also to dismantle the existing ones. Since resource supply had stabilized to the point where I didn’t need a separate resource fleet, I scrapped most of them, keeping only the bare minimum for emergencies.

In their place, I planned to fill the void with destroyers, except for one temporary tanking armored battleship. But as you can see from the fleet status, one battleship is still hogging a spot.

The reason? None other than the sudden appearance of Kraken No. 3.

“Ugh, things got complicated.”

“What’s the matter, Commander?”

“Well, it’s just… you know.”

Originally, I was going to dismantle that battleship and replace it with destroyers focused on evasion and anti-air capabilities. But then, events like “Astral Expo” and the “4th Anniversary Celebration” popped up one after another.

In the chaos of mass-producing destroyers and focusing on the events, I completely forgot about dismantling the battleship. Naturally, my base personnel, without additional orders from me, just continued repairing ships, including those from the Rhodes Mercenary Group and my direct mercenary units.

As a result, the one surviving battleship ended up idling in the docking facility because there was no space in the shipyard. If nothing else had happened, I would’ve remembered to dismantle it after the events and filled the freed-up points with more destroyers.

But then… *the Kraken appeared.*

Yes, during the 4th Anniversary event, the unexpected miracle(?) of pulling a third Kraken happened. This caused the fleet points to suddenly skyrocket past the limit, throwing my plans into chaos.

Now, even if I dismantle our battleship friend, it won’t undo the fact that we’ve already blown past the point limit. What a mess.
