Chapter 5

Sol, the undefeated streak-holder, stood as the target for an urgent coalition of five Masters.

From the very first game, they successfully managed to stop Sol in their tracks.

With match ratings skyrocketing to levels where it was nearly impossible to find suitable opponents in normal games, the situation should have been too easy to exploit—had the five Masters been on the same wavelength.

[Author: TryitTV Wooseung] [Title: Successfully Stopped Sol – Breaking the Winning Streak]

(link)

Broadcast where five Masters come together for a righteous cause to stop the invincible!

An elated Wooseung quickly turned on the broadcast and posted a promotional post on the gallery.

Month after month, Wooseung’s stream struggled to attract more than 1 to 2 average viewers, overshadowed by the many broadcasters ranked higher in tiers.

Aside from skill-based streams, there wasn’t much allure to draw in viewers.

But as they say, the world operates on seven parts luck and three parts skill, doesn’t it?

With the entire gallery paying attention to Sol now, what if they could take down this undefeated champion?

A meteoric rise to fame would be guaranteed!

As Wooseung daydreamed about it, he chuckled.

[What a hideous face you have, very creative.]

[Are you the person with the Hahoe mask laughing, perhaps?]

[Five Masters d:]

[Did you gather five Masters to catch just one rookie? Pathetic.]

“How is my record anything like a rookie’s? It’s obviously an alt-account pretending to be new.”

[If Sol’s 30-game winning streak is easy, then it must be a main account; if not, which beat are we following?]

“If it’s an alt-account, it should be simple; rookies can’t do such things.”

Typically, such provoking chats would’ve gotten people banned, but Wooseung could endure today.

That mockery would undoubtedly turn into cheers of victory in the end.

Just wait a bit longer!

—”The enemy is on a rampage!”

“Huh?”

For a moment distracted by the broadcast, Sol had quietly accumulated 3 kills with zero deaths.

[TryitTV Wooseung: What are you guys doing?]

[TryitTV Wooseung: Why aren’t you supporting each other?]

This was a team of five Masters, after all—gathered specifically to knock Sol down. And yet, how had they already let them gain 3 kills within just a few minutes?

[Banakne: What the hell?]

[Banakne: You’re the one doing nothing!]

[Banakne: Your path and movements are bafflingly amateurish for a Master, are you sure?]

[Banakne: Are you a hired player?]

[Banakne: Is this your first game ever?]

There was a tendency seen across various tiers. Lower tiers players often complained in chat and stopped playing the game entirely, whereas higher tier players continued to play while simultaneously typing in the chat.

Banakne, engaged in a fierce chat argument, was still trying to play earnestly. But what was the point of playing hard if they weren’t playing well?

—”We are utterly unable to stop the enemy!”

Sol had now managed five kills, seemingly unstoppable.

[Hey, stop farming and at least observe the enemy’s movements.]

[What are you doing while the opponent is already at five kills?]

[Rather than looking at your screen, grab the screen showing Sol!]

It was an absurd situation. Teamfight Arena was a game where the early game path planning was critically important due to its random elements.

Champions were randomly spawned across ten starting points. Did they land in a zone crowded with enemies, or with allies? Would they head for neutral monster camping or focus on farming resources versus engaging in early skirmishes? The moment the game begins, players need to calculate these factors, plot their routes, and leave immediately.

Not to mention, capturing the allied camera angles to predict and counter Sol’s strategy was no easy task. The shared vision was not that extensive, and only occasionally did you catch glimpses of opponents through your ally’s field of vision, certainly not enough to counter effectively.

[If you’re only going to farm, why bother with broadcasting?]

[A silver-tier playstyle, classic.]

[Our team seems like dual traitors, this is embarrassing, really.]

Wooseung was a broadcaster. He deliberately chose a late-game carry champion to showcase spectacular plays. The vision of his team stalling Sol’s early game while he delivered a massacre in the late game was enticing.

But as his underperforming teammates continued to get wiped out, it became clear the game might not even make it to the late stages.

‘You idiots!’

—”The enemy is legendary!”

A warning voice announcing a player achieving eight consecutive kills without death was a sound that echoed. But there was no need to confirm it.

It was Sol.

Wooseung’s dream bubble and mental dialogue had popped.

‘This is so bad!’

“What are you doing? Dammit!”

His inner thoughts finally broke free.

[LOL]

[Where’s the guy claiming to stop Sol’s streak?]

[He’s apparently taking a train to the US ^O^]

[Five Masters KO’ed!]

[Even five Masters can’t handle this?]

[Who is this person?]

[Is this really a pro rookie talent? Looking at Victory’s comment, it seems he’s just a newbie.]

[Can this rookie really go straight pro?]

[Amazing…]

[Jeon Wooseung is the real champion!]

This wasn’t good. Praises meant for himself were all diverted to Sol instead. Wooseung gritted his teeth.

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: Join the dual swordsman]

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: The enemy is Sol except for everyone else, they’re all low-leveled]

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: A 5-5 fight and we win]

[TryitTV Wooseung: Go for the Tower Cap fight]

Another random feature in Teamfight Arena: the 5-minute occupation event.

The map in Hero’s Arena has four Tower Caps located at the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. At the 5-minute mark, one Tower Cap activates per match. If players can secure this Tower Cap at the 10-minute mark, each gets 500 gold and 50% of their current level’s experience. It was a unique game system designed to prevent any one side from running away with the game and to encourage different strategies each round.

For this game, the northeast Tower Cap was activated. Wooseung started moving toward where the fight would take place. Suddenly, Sol emerged.

An Illusionist, a magician-type champion, using illusions to devastate the opponent.

Bathed in overwhelming firepower, Wooseung’s dual-swordsman—a late-game carrier with a squishy build—disintegrated almost instantaneously.

—”The enemy is legendary!”

[TryitTV Wooseung: ]

[TryitTV Wooseung: * What are you doing?]

[TryitTV Wooseung: Can’t you place wards? Secure vision? Come join the team battle already!]

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: There are already three wards there]

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: You were supposed to take the side they could see]

[Banakne: Where’s the game heading?]

[Jeon Wooseung Watching: Guessing he might’ve gone that way]

[Chat looking so rough lol]

[Now I see why he’s always trolling]

[Typical of a Bronze playstyle]

[The evaluations are dropping! Haha!]

[Is Illusionist broken? There’s only bugs in my tier]

[Surface-mad, garbage champion]

[Sol plays well though?]

[He’d have done better with another champion]

[Did I just see him activate multiple illusions or was it me?]

[I saw it too; he had three clones]

[Somebody actually takes those garbage builds seriously lol]

[Is he mad movie material?]

[What’s this mysterious Chinese craftsman?]

[Yeah, actually doing well—this ain’t trolling; he’s the mad movie protagonist]

Teamfight Arena allows players to select traits at levels 1, 6, 11, and 16. With each trait having two options, even the same champion can be played differently in 16 distinct ways. The most crucial trait comes at level 6—the ultimate ability.

The Illusionist’s ultimate lets them generate illusions at designated positions. These illusions can be controlled to follow the real champion’s skills and explode when destroyed or expired, dealing area-of-effect damage.

There are two options for the ultimate skill: designated explosion or multiple illusions.

Selecting designated explosion targets specific enemies within the ultimate explosive radius, converting a hard-to-hit non-targeting skill into a targeting one.

The multiple illusions choice increases the number of illusions from one to two but reduces their damage by 70%. Some argue if all hits are landed, it’s a broken 140% increase, right?

This was thought by someone.

Sol, to be precise, who had actually managed to land all hits.

Generally, it’s nearly impossible to land all the skills. The complexity of control makes this hard, leading experts to consider designated explosion the standard route to choose. The multiple illusion trait was something only featured in a certain Chinese Illusionist mad movie on YouTube.

—”Defeat!”

The five Masters couldn’t recover from the early-game losses and fell to an ignoble defeat. The audience cheered Sol’s rewriting of the legend.

[Need to edit and create a mad movie out of this lmao]

[Sol! Sol! Sol! Sol! Sol!]

[They gathered to break the streak, didn’t they? Looks like they gathered to contribute to the mad movie instead]

[Yeah, Sol actually plays well]

[Once again, proving the rule: Bronze=Silver=Gold=Plat=Diamond=Master=Same Level ^^]

[That guy was always editing stuff but now he can’t even comment on the gallery lol]

[Will someone become the bread of the gallery? (Actual words)]

[Is this guy capable of that sorta mischief lol]

[Choom! You’re the best, Wooseung!]

“This was just our first game; we were still warming up. We’ll win next time.”

This cheers of triumph should’ve been mine.

That ridicule should have been aimed at Sol.

I can’t just accept being crushed like this. If this continues, it would seem as though Sol is the star and I’m just a sidekick.

I must show something!

I must!

Otherwise, I’d feel too embarrassed to even participate in the gallery anymore!
