Chapter 497: Campus Legends
—
After arranging the projects she had to examine and document over the next three days, Lolan Hill temporarily left the trade caravan.
Her golden hair fluttered rapidly through the air, escaping from her hood and transforming into a pale cyan color amidst the wind and shadows.
Lolan Hill unfolded semi-transparent butterfly wings behind her and sped through the sky at several times the speed of sound.
Everything in her field of vision was rapidly receding; her cyan eyes shone like transparent gems, emitting intense light. The wind flowed like threads across her skin, then tore through the distant sky.
She raced along, with her speed increasing by the moment. It felt as if all resistance had vanished, and she moved like light, covering thousands of miles in a long distance.
When Lolan Hill came back to her senses, she found herself not far from the Imperial Capital. She had traveled from the northernmost part of Clancia to the central Soland in less than half a day.
When she stopped, traces of her special magic still lingered around her. They were transparent and light, like fireflies that couldn’t be touched, flying and slowly dissipating.
Perhaps this was the influence of her innate talent.
For now, she put these thoughts aside and slowly landed outside the Red Jujube Palace. Her hooded coat drifted away with the airflow.
“Princess Sage?” A palace guard in a cloak exclaimed in surprise and informed several other guards and maids.
Soon, Parinsha arrived with a few others.
Under the night lights, the girl in white stood in the middle of the road, half of her face illuminated by the firelight, casting a warm yellow glow.
Parinsha recognized her as Lolan Hill, who had left the palace over a month ago.
“Sage Princess, did you return early?” She bowed respectfully and asked.
“Yes, although I haven’t toured all the provinces yet, I’ve developed some ideas.”
“Arrange for me tomorrow to gather the senior officials of all departments. I have something important to announce.”
“I understand, Your Highness.” Parinsha bowed respectfully, then left without further disturbance, taking only a few maids to attend to Lolan Hill’s living quarters.

At the Emanas, in the Temple Academy classroom,
Students dressed in black and white uniforms sat behind circular desks, looking at the teacher in front.
The teacher wore a robe with gold edges, appearing to be a high-ranking priest. At this moment, he was writing key sentences on the blackboard.
“Today, I will tell you about the knowledge of angels, one of the origins of our academy’s sequence.”
He drew a horizontal line on the blackboard and circled a circle above it.
“Undoubtedly, the life structure of angels is completely different from humans; they do not have substantial bodies.”
“However, there are many descriptions of angel appearances and forms in various records. Why is this?”
“This is because upon entering this world, to adapt to combat and better cooperate with humans, they take on such appearances.”
“Their bodies are made purely of extraordinary energy, which is quite unique.”
As the teacher spoke, a student raised their hand.
“Classmate, do you have any questions?” he asked.
“Why do angels help humans, or this world?” the student said.
“On this point, ancient sages and heroes of various tribes also had many doubts and once questioned these angels.”
“Most angels would not answer because they are extremely pure beings and do not ponder such questions.”
“Until finally, one of the three Archangels, before descending into the abyss, once said something thought-provoking.”
“This is not salvation or aid; it is merely atonement. You don’t need to be grateful.”
After class, students began packing up their belongings, preparing to leave the classroom.
“Shanyn, are you ready?” a girl standing at the door waved to her companion.
“Just a moment,” replied a girl with curly brown hair. She packed her things and picked up a stuffed bear beside her desk before running out of the classroom.
In the corridor, a few students started talking again.
“By the way, you’ve been carrying this stuffed bear recently. Is it because you really like it?” a tall companion curiously looked at the small bear in Shanyn’s arms.
“Haha, no, though I do like this stuffed bear, it isn’t mine.”
“Then whose is it?”
“It belongs to Chief Lohil. She entrusted this bear to me, asking me to bring it when attending classes.”
“Ah? Can this stuffed bear even listen and learn?”
“Well, that’s a secret~” Shanyn pressed her face with her finger, making a playful expression to evade the question.
“You always make things so mysterious.”
“But speaking of it, Chief Lohil hasn’t been seen in a while.”
“Yeah, apparently due to health issues, she went to the Holy Land to recuperate, and is expected to return for the year-end exams.”
“Oh, it would be nice if Chief could be healthier. She always looks so frail.”
“Still, even though she seems so fragile, she led us to win the title of ‘Breaker Crown,’ which was quite unexpected.”
“Yes, almost all the ‘Silver Candle Nuns’ in the Temple Academy are loyal followers of Chief, even those black-robed ones who manipulate skeletons respect her greatly.”
“When can I be as powerful as Chief and defeat the Black Queen of the Fortress, step on the Broken Lance under the bridge, and punch the Azure Dragon of the High Tower?”
“Haha, you should think about how to advance to fifth grade this year and join the ‘Silver Candle Nuns.’ The members there are all Sequence 6.”
“Ugh, let me dream, will you? So heartless.”
“Ha ha, okay, no more talk. Have you heard recently that the former Black Chief has awakened?”
“You mean Oshuna from the Fortress Academy?”
“Yes, it’s said that after waking up, she was taken by the Sage and returned a few days later, only to hear news of her taking a leave of absence.”
“A leave of absence? What about her future?”
“It’s said she was taken to the Holy Land Kingdom for a rest period and will study as an exchange student there.”
“But the Holy Land focuses on Angel Sequences, and she practices Demon Sequences.”
“I’m not sure about that, but reportedly, she’s now an ordinary person with no extraordinary power. She might switch to another sequence in the future.”
“Anyway, it’s for the best. Many students now recall her with some resentment. She can’t stay in the Fortress Academy anymore, as no one dares to get close to her.”
“Did she apologize?”
“Yes, unfortunately, no one cares, no one listens. Some things can’t be resolved just by apologizing.”
“Ah, well, we’re not the ones involved, so many things are hard to explain.”
“Yes, it’s said she wants to see Miss Lolan of the Fortress, but given her current status, no one will introduce her.”
“Miss Lolan is?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t know? She’s one of the seven legends of Emanas now.”
“Hehe, Shanyn hasn’t cared much about external affairs lately. Let me generously introduce you to the seven legendary figures of Emanas.”
“They are—”
“The Sleeping Black Rose Queen, Lolan.”
“The Roaring Rock Dragon, Eroie.”
“The Summoner of Ghostly Skeleton Armies, Elro.”
“The Blade That Cuts Apart, Bumansa.”
“The Pure White Nun Under the Stained Glass, Lohil.”
“The Swift Dancer of Shadows, Lingxin.”
“The Sun Gem Amidst the Verdant Leaves, Florasia.”
Since Dalci and his fellow graduating fifth-year students left, new prodigies began to take center stage.
