The Eighth Miyuki: Couldn’t understand the riddle.
Born in the magical world, the “Dark Sword Gekkou” is quite a special sword among all the sacred swords. To prevent other sacred swords from being misused by the wicked-hearted, apart from its ability to cut through space for movement and absorption of any attribute attack, it also has the powerful capability to let the user foresee the future!
But this foresight into the future cannot be used to buy lottery tickets; the dark sword will certainly predict the worst possible outcome for the user, known as a bad end!
This doesn’t mean the predicted future will definitely come true. Instead, if one remains indifferent to it, this future may flip back on you!
Glancing at the orange, yellow, and green colors huddled and crying on the ground, although he himself was extremely rude and had done things that would make people resent him, in his personal feelings, Ash actually didn’t dislike them.
It was precisely this reason that when in countless scenes of the future, they cried out “Ash!” for the last time, the tragic scene of their scattering and fading was deeply imprinted on him.
Like the myriad bad ends designed by the most villainous scriptwriter, even with his experience, this was too much for him; he didn’t like such development.
“Why…aren’t you a Kamen Rider?” Yaying held the makeup box, her tearful eyes filled only with incomprehension and sorrow, not resentment. “Why are you doing something so terrible to us? We haven’t done anything wrong yet…”
“Why…Ash—” Just as Ash opened his mouth to respond, Yaying’s sobbing face suddenly twisted and changed. Her upper body, lying on the ground, was completely soaked in red, her previously fluffy hair fell to the ground, stained with life’s color. The originally sad eyes now were empty, void of all but despair. The last bit of lingering sentiment reached out a trembling hand toward the man in front of her.
“It hurts…Ash, why am I suffering like this…I don’t want to die…”
“Help me…I don’t want to die…” Finally, the last bit of yearning for life in the girl’s eyes dimmed away, her lifted hand fell powerless to the ground, sinking like a drowning person into the crimson sea beneath her.
Grinding his teeth, Ash immediately stretched out his hand, wanting to grab the last bit of hope that was about to sink with the bubbling bubbles at the last second.
“Uh—?” When he opened his eyes again, he saw his sharp gauntlet-covered palm gently touching the girl’s continuously streaming tears, as if he were holding her face up in an ambiguous gesture.
“Just because you haven’t done anything.”
“Ah—!”
Losing support, Yaying crashed onto the ground once more. Her infinite委屈 led her sobs to grow louder, solidifying Ash’s resolve that he had been right.
“Why did you do this, Kuru?”
Sealing the transformation device resulted in the three girls losing their fighting spirit. Incredulous to the point of tears, the doll-sized Sugar, lifting the makeup box and the accessories for the transformation, found no reaction no matter how she assembled them. It was as if the sacred objects of the fairytale kingdom had turned into a plastic toy without batteries.
“This is—this is all hope to avoid the tragic ending!” Jumping to Ash’s feet, the stubborn Sugar weakly kicked and punched at him, her confusion and anger making her desperate to find answers on him. “Why did you do this! Aren’t you from another world? Why—are you trying to keep the world in the worst possible ending?!”
“Wrong answer, my only pursuit is the truth of the world.” If it were the old Ash, perhaps he might have kicked it away, but now, the man in a bad mood pinched its neck instead, letting the crying little thing thrash around in mid-air.
Looking down at the small figure, the man who had just removed the Evil Dragon from his belt, casually threw the dark sword over his shoulder.
“I believe that both heroes and the end of the world must be solemn and serious,” Sugar, hanging in mid-air due to gravity, gradually turned her face towards Ash. “I’ll ask you one question: if the hope you speak of turns into despair, do you have a way to reverse such an outcome?”
“Sugar, Sugar, Sugar will never give up on the Pretty Cures!” Sugar, expecting to be treated badly, unexpectedly came face-to-face with a pair of dead fish eyes filled with exhaustion. Feeling something but not fully understanding, she summoned the courage to voice her heart.
“Can something be protected with just a wish?”
“What are you saying, Sugar? I don’t understand what you mean!”
“I’m just a fairy from the fairy kingdom, why are you speaking such strange words?”
“Sugar!” An unexpected voice sounded from in front of him. It was Miyuki, who had just gotten up after hitting the floor, blood streaming down her forehead and nose bridge, but she paid no attention to the dizziness-inducing pain, her eyes fixated on the fairy in Ash’s hand, Sugar.
Miyuki and Sugar, as a fairy, had fought before and had said harsh things. However, when the captured Sugar saw them engaged in a tough battle, she broke free and came to their aid in time. From that moment on, Miyuki had kept this warmth within her heart, swearing that companions should always help each other.
“Whatever you think of us, Sugar hasn’t done anything wrong. While she usually acts wildly, she always strives hard to help us,” even with wobbly steps, Miyuki extended her hand to try to reclaim Sugar.
“Put down Sugar, she’s our important friend!”
Initially, when entering the Pretty Cure world, Ash had no good impression of fairies, due to some magic girl works he had watched occasionally. But after experiencing multiple times the bond between them and handling them himself, Ash no longer underestimated these small beings; he recognized they had hearts more beautiful than humans.
“But Precure, even if a flower once planted could blossom beautifully, it could still be ruthlessly destroyed.” With meaninglessly vague words, Ash turned his wrist and threw the little sheep fairy directly into Miyuki’s arms, causing her, already swaying, to plop back onto the ground.
“There’s coincidence in everything, but the result is inevitable as if predestined.”
Predicting a terrible future, it’s due to this capability that users of Dark Sword Gekkou throughout history have walked alone, burdened by a heavy yoke.
“Thank…you—” Miyuki instinctively replied, embracing Sugar. As she raised her head along with the motion, her gaze, looking towards Ash, suddenly widened.
“Behind you, watch out!”
