Chapter 49: The Slapped Warriors

Chapter 49: The Slapped Warriors

With a plan to counter their upcoming attack forming in her mind, Airael remained calm and composed.

The Elven Lords saw Airael’s tranquility and felt their own spirits boost.

Today, they were determined to achieve some results.

Still using the previous strategy.

Four Warrior Lords surrounded Airael, while two Mages provided magical support from the back.

However, this time it was Smir who cast the magic on the four Warrior Lords.

There was no choice; Mason’s water magic was simply not suitable for these Elven Lords after what had just transpired, lest they repeat the earlier mistakes.

Thus, the four Warrior Lords were enveloped in a brownish glow under Smir’s enhancement.

Though the ferocity they exuded still lacked the tsunami-like might from before, they now emitted a steady aura reminiscent of mountains.

And behind that stability, an undercurrent of violence was barely detectable.

While a tsunami is fierce, a landslide is no laughing matter.

Sensing the change in their auras, Airael smiled and said, “Looks like they’ve learned their lesson! Let’s hope this battle teaches you a memorable lesson too.”

With that, Airael also cast a support spell on herself.

Potential Activation!

She was cloaked in a golden glow.

Under that golden aura, Airael appeared even more divine and untouchable; just her appearance was already impressive.

However, her opponents were not mere mortals.

If they were unmoved by her allure before, they certainly wouldn’t be swayed now.

Therefore, she had to rely on her formidable strength to earn their respect.

Airael tightened her grip on the Sword of Dawn, without adding any magic to it.

Once in a clash with the Demon-Breaking Swords wielded by those Warrior Lords, any magic cast upon the Sword of Dawn would be easily shattered.

Fortunately, the Sword of Dawn held a high rank in itself, and even without added spells, it was not inferior to those Demon-Breaking Swords.

The Warrior Lords didn’t grasp Airael’s intentions. Seeing her clutch the sword tightly, they were momentarily puzzled about what Airael intended to do.

At that moment, after Airael had dealt some magical damage earlier, they instinctively chose to overlook the fact that Airael was also a warrior, thinking of her merely as a powerful mage.

They perceived her warrior side as just a hobby, maybe even just a playful endeavor.

But the truth was, Airael did not tread the warrior path just for fun.

Though mages wielded incredible power, their killing efficiency with various potent spells vastly outmatched that of warriors, warriors also possessed their own unique advantages.

Traditional mages were akin to hefty artillery.

Although they could move, their agility paled in comparison to that of warriors.

Once surrounded, a mage had little chance of escape.

Warriors, on the other hand, were different.

More agile, even if they found themselves deep in a bind, they still had a chance to break free.

If strong enough, they could even charge in and out multiple times!

While Airael’s strength as a warrior was not formidable years ago, she had relied on her powerful magic to enhance her warrior capabilities.

But that was then, and this is now; time changes everything.

What’s more, several years had passed.

Over these years, thanks to the life tree’s enhancement, Airael’s strength had surged dramatically.

This enhancement wasn’t limited to magic; it was a comprehensive upgrade.

Naturally, it included Airael’s physical prowess.

Her physical abilities were now on par with those of heroic-class warriors.

As the four Warrior Lords approached Airael, puzzled and confused, Mason and Smir widened their eyes, unwilling to miss any moment.

From their perspective, Airael made no unnecessary movements.

She simply held her sword tightly, enveloped in a golden glow, waiting for the Warrior Lords to come to her.

The Warrior Lords advanced towards Airael with ease.

The two Warrior Lords attacking from the sides could hardly believe their eyes.

Yet their bodies reacted honestly.

Upon reaching Airael, they initiated their attacks, the Demon-Breaking Swords raised, aiming a downward strike at Airael.

At that moment, Airael, who had been seemingly still, sprang into action.

Her figure blurred and transformed into a fleeting shadow, vanishing from her original spot.

As the two Warrior Lords thought they would strike Airael, their swords passed right through her!

“What the…?”

Not only did the two Warrior Lords stand dumbfounded, all the others witnessing the scene were equally wide-eyed.

They had just been certain Airael was standing right there.

But she was no longer in sight; this indicated one possibility.

In an instant, Airael had unleashed blinding speed to evade their strikes.

Just then, Airael appeared behind one of the attacking Warrior Lords and swung her sword at his back.

With a resounding “bang,”

The bewildered Warrior Lord, caught off guard, had no idea what happened before he was sent flying, face-planting into the ground and eating dirt.

With that single strike, Airael was quite pleased with her result.

At that moment, everyone present, apart from Celia and Aurora, who already knew everything, stared silently at the unfolding spectacle.

Though Linis was somewhat in the loop, she hadn’t anticipated the life tree’s enhancement to Airael would be this overwhelming.

Those heroic-class Lords had nearly no resistance against her.

“Everyone, don’t be careless! Stay alert!”

Mason shouted in the arena.

They had once again been slapped in the face, but this time it was the warriors who faced the humiliation.

The three remaining warriors who hadn’t yet dealt with Airael quickly shook off their stupor.

Especially Tugur and Ladis, who had already given up on their offensive.

“Hey, why aren’t you attacking anymore? I’d love to see your real strength! If you don’t attack, I might just have to come at you next. Don’t blame me for not giving you a chance when your performing opportunity’s gone!”

Airael grinned as she spoke to them.

So cocky! Absolutely too cocky!

But Airael certainly had the credentials to be so.

Thinking back on Airael’s earlier display of prowess, all the Elven Lords felt a wave of helplessness swell within them. Their continued resistance was merely a struggle against an easy curtain call.

They were determined to fight with all they had.
