Chapter 452. Boss Raid. (2)
And as the top three rankers, including myself, began to seriously strategize our attack…
The flagship of the Imperial Fleet, which had been flaunting its superiority just moments ago, was now getting a taste of its own medicine in real-time.
Our first strategy to take it down was to immobilize it…
—————————————–
-[Let’s go~] (Icarus)
-[[Strategic missiles teleporting and disappearing somewhere.jpg]]
-[Grache]
-[We gotta pay them back for what they did to us lololol]
-[Hammurabi Code, gayyy]
—————————————–
As always, in most cases, the teleport-spear combo served as the ultimate solution.
-KWAAANG!!!
“Enemy flagship, strategic missiles and remaining missiles and torpedoes, all hit the propulsion system!”
“All main engines of the ship have been destroyed!”
“Yummy.”
We slammed 12 strategic missiles (plus other miscellaneous stuff) the size of heavy cruisers right into its tiny, fragile engine nozzles.
That damn ship, boasting its “Pirate Alliance-class mobility,” couldn’t even show it off once in this battle and ended up completely immobilized.
But our additional strategies didn’t end there.
—————————————–
-[Move the ship’s defensive line slightly to the side] (Icarus)
-[Superhumans fully buffed, Ouroboros overcharged focused bombardment incoming] (Icarus)
-[Oh]
-[Just hearing the name makes my heart race]
-[Ok ok]
-[Now, gently pull back here]
—————————————–
After loading Pashtira and Dornia onto the Ouroboros…
We brought in the ships carrying Belial and Gryanarr, and unleashed a 140% overcharged focused bombardment on the Ouroboros, which was now under a quadruple buff.
Thanks to the “very detailed” fire control of the Brawler-class and Habarovsk-class ships, the already high accuracy boosted by Belial’s buffs skyrocketed even further.
We could see the shots precisely stretching out toward the flagship, which had completely lost its mobility and was now sitting duck.
Of course, despite the ridiculously lengthy preparation process, the Imperial flagship had a vicious multi-layered barrier.
The flagship, realizing evasion was impossible, activated its barrier, blocking the Ouroboros’ bombardment…
-KWAAAAANG!!!
“Ouroboros’ bombardment, hit!”
“Enemy flagship’s barrier loss rate, 15%!”
“Barrier, disappearing.”
“As expected, it doesn’t last long.”
As previously mentioned in the gallery posts, the flagship’s barrier function didn’t last as long as one might think.
At the same time, that damn multi-layered barrier entered a long (?) cooldown.
As soon as I heard the barrier was disappearing, I immediately gave orders to my allies in the chat.
—————————————–
-[Now, go go go] (Icarus)
-[We’ve expanded the engine, broken its ankles, and now the barrier’s on cooldown] (Icarus)
-[Oh]
-[Expansion, that’s what I’m talking about]
-[Now’s not the time for that]
-[Go go]
-[We gotta charge now or we’ll get hit by that damn area bombardment]
—————————————–
And with my words, the waiting users began their charge, with Raksha’s mobile unit flanking to strike from the side.
Most of the enemy escort fleet was hastily moving to the front line to protect the now immobilized flagship…
After timing it just right, as the enemy flagship’s “ability cooldown” was about to reset…
We used Kraken No. 2’s teleport to move a large number of aircraft near the damn flagship for an airstrike, replacing Kraken No. 1, which had used its teleport to launch strategic missiles.
Of course, this teleport wasn’t for my Kraken’s aircraft but for the attack squad from Mona Lisa’s Anomalocaris.
—————————————–
-[Teleport attack squad, follow me] (Mona Lisa)
-[Anomalocaris has aircraft attack buffs, so they’ll be stronger than yours] (Mona Lisa)
-[Got it] (Icarus)
—————————————–
Mona Lisa, with that kind of “I’m the best, y’know” confidence…
Since I had a hunch, I trusted it and went all in.
And the aircraft that were teleported in fought way better than expected.
“The first strike team, which teleported in to assault the enemy flagship, is currently conducting an airstrike on the flagship and its surrounding escort fleet.”
“Real-time shoot-down rate, 0.03%!”
“Oh… they’re holding up better than I thought.”
The aircraft, teleported in to “hold out for a long time and keep the flagship and other escort ships from doing anything else,” were doing exactly that.
Including me, the aircraft carrier users nodded in approval, saying, “This is what it means to be a user with aircraft carriers as your trademark,” and immediately decided to launch the rest of the aircraft.
—————————————–
-[Launch all aircraft now]
-[Since their aircraft are only targeting the flagship, we need to take them out before our aircraft launch cooldown is up]
-[Hurry up while my aircraft are holding out] (Mona Lisa)
-[Hehe]
—————————————–
And in that way, including my Krakens.
Various large aircraft carriers, light carriers, aviation battleships, and aviation cruisers formed a second strike team, and a massive swarm of aircraft flew out like a horde.
Meanwhile, our forward fleet friends were unleashing a relentless barrage of forward artillery fire at the enemy fleet trying to form a defensive line.
The problem was, under normal circumstances, 90% of that artillery fire would have been wasted, flying off into some random part of space.
– “Hit, hit!”
– “Our fleet’s hit rate is about 40%!”
“That’s four times the usual.”
“Hmm.”
Now, with users like me using ‘fire control’ ships like the Brawler-class included.
And with most of the enemy fleet’s detection already completed, we were steadily advancing, picking off the enemy fleet trying to maintain their defensive line one by one from extreme range.
Of course, that smoothness was short-lived.
—————————————–
-[Oh, we’re screwed] (Mona Lisa)
-[Please don’t say such bad words]
-[Big trouble] (Mona Lisa)
-[The enemy fleet retreated and regrouped, causing my teleported aircraft to be wiped out lol] (Mona Lisa)
-[Ah]
-[We beat them so hard they couldn’t hold out and ran away]
—————————————–
As it turns out, even the best-laid plans don’t always go perfectly in reality.
Because the frontline fleet users fought even better than expected, the enemy escort fleet got wrecked and fled, regrouping near the flagship.
As a result, the anti-air pressure became too high, and Mona Lisa’s first strike team, deployed for disruption, was wiped out.
A moment later.
– BOOOOOOM!!!
—————————————–
-[Waaaaah]
-[Damn, they’re pissed, they’re firing indiscriminately, screw this]
-[Kyaaaaah, my Dreadnought]
—————————————–
It was only natural that the flagship’s concentrated artillery fire would target our users who were advancing after wrecking the escort fleet.
Of course, because the frontline fleets fought “too well,” they paid the price by taking a massive hit, increasing the flagship’s ability cooldown once again.
While the frontline fleets were taking a beating and buying time.
—————————————–
-[Second strike team of aircraft has arrived]
-[All go now]
-[Target the anti-air cruisers and destroyers first, fighters should keep the flagship in check and respond to any potential enemy aircraft] (Mona Lisa)
-[Don’t target battleships or heavy cruisers, they’re hard to hit with aircraft] (Icarus)
-[Got it]
—————————————–
The 300,000 aircraft that had been launched earlier finally reached the enemy fleet and began a massive airstrike.
