Chapter 448

Chapter 448. Big Ship, Bigger Ship. (3)

Anyway, it seems the sincere persuasion from those old-timers worked.

The “Super Dreadnought Hunters,” who had been explosively increasing in the gallery, began to disappear in an instant.

But as those hunters(?) vanished, the gallery was left with one remaining concern…

Now, the users’ only(?) worry remained…

—————————————–

Title: So, how do I set up my ship?

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [Explanation of the bosses from 6 factions.txt]

I get that they’re super cool and all, but…

So, how am I supposed to deal with them?

Why is no one explaining that?

Comments:

-[Why? Well…]

-[Why would they explain it lololol]

-[Ladder climbing ON]

-[You see all the people who know keeping their mouths shut, right? lolol]

-[So that’s what it was]

—————————————–

The problem is, as the person who shared the info mentioned…

This update came out during a time when the world was on life support, having been sentenced to death as a game…

So, more than half of the old-timers, including returning players like me, didn’t know about it and just stayed silent.

Seeing this, some non-old-timer users started spreading all sorts of weird conspiracy theories, like “Aren’t these guys just ladder climbing?”

Of course, it was fine if it was just some murmuring…

But the conspiracy theories grew way too big, and right after the event ended, a large-scale war almost broke out among the users.

Big clans like Humanity, along with their top-ranked players, shouted “We’re tired, we don’t want war” and launched a massive suppression operation.

And on top of that…

Title: Why are you even worrying about fleet setup?

It’s all random anyway.

If you specialize in one thing and then run into the exact opposite enemy, what are you gonna do?

For example, if you set up your fleet to counter Space Monster bosses with anti-air and small ship killing, but then an Earth Federation boss shows up, you’re just gonna be a meat shield that can’t deal damage.

On the other hand, if you set up your fleet with heavy battleships and burst damage to take down Earth Federation or Xenobia bosses, you might get overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Space Monsters or outmaneuvered by the Pirate Alliance.

Let’s be real, man.

Aren’t you just trying to shift the responsibility to the old-timers or other users by asking them to “choose” for you because you don’t want to take responsibility yourself?

Come on, just pick something yourself, geez.

Either set up a specialized fleet and pray, or just go with a balanced all-purpose fleet and charge in like usual.

Or stick to your original concept, but stop whining so much.

Comments:

-[As expected, the truth hurts lololol]

-[Kyaaa! Boss!]

-[Hey, take it easy, you’ll make the kids cry]

-[The sharp truth strikes again, thanks to 유동햄 lolol]

-[유동햄 strikes again]

-[He says what needs to be said, 유 카 콜 라]

—————————————–

“Kyaa.”

“Sometimes, people need to hear it straight to snap out of it.”

The blunt truth from 유동 hit hard.

Thanks to that, users like me could finally feel at ease as the whiny posts about fleet setups disappeared.

Wanting to keep that peace for as long as possible, I quickly closed the gallery window.

And just like that, I decided to come to a conclusion about how to set up my fleet.

And that conclusion was…

—————————————–

“I’ve decided, Jessica.”

“What is it, sir? The event boss raid?”

“Yeah, when you think about it, none of us know what’s coming this time.”

“Right, that’s true.”

“So, just like we did in team battles, no matter who ends up on our side…”

“No matter who ends up on our side?”

“We’ll deploy general-grade ships at the front and have our main ships support from the rear.”

“Got it.”

—————————————–

As mentioned before, my “main force” has always been more about supporting other fleets in combat.

So, just like in team battles, I decided to go with a strategy of supporting allies from the rear.

And along with those things…

Controlling the madness of lunatics who, shouting “Alpano,” always run wild with either disgusting or lewd images, or sometimes both at the same time during events.

There was someone trying to spread a conspiracy theory that there’s a harem exclusively for Humanity executives in the basement(?) of the Humanity headquarters.

But it turned out those users were already having a blast with superhumans at max friendliness, doing all sorts of fun and exciting stuff.

Meanwhile, the person spreading the conspiracy theory ended up with a -10 or lower friendliness with female superhumans.

And it was revealed that they were hitting on other female users, leading to their own bizarre downfall.

After spending five incredibly busy and complicated days…

“Commander, everything is done except for the Dreadnought repairs.”

“Really?”

“Yes, since our Kraken repair facilities aren’t fully operational yet, we sent it to the Monster nest, and it got done faster than expected.”

“I see…”

By now, most of the ships that had returned in a heavily damaged state were repaired, and I heard that even the Dreadnought, which was still under repair, was almost done.

At this point, I was considering whether to use a “Repair Acceleration Ticket” to quickly fix the ships and head straight into the event map.

Or maybe just wait another day or so before going in, pondering lightly over the decision.

Of course, there was also the option of not participating in the raid where ships were bound to get wrecked…

But unfortunately, that option was pretty much useless from the start.

—————————————–

[Will you enter the ‘All-Big-Ship Boss Raid’ event map?]

[You must complete this event map to receive event rewards!]

[Y/N]

—————————————–

Since the event message blatantly said, “You gotta join the raid to get rewards!”

I was determined to participate in the raid, whether I liked it or not, to not waste all the effort I’d put in so far.

But this dilemma was just about whether to go in fast or slow.

After a brief moment of hesitation…

I absentmindedly opened the community-gallery window, and the moment I saw it…

—————————————–

Title: “Look, the vanguard is coming back!”

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [A picture filled with heavily injured soldiers, limbs severed, with characters’ heads crudely photoshopped in.jpg]

Ah, they just look like corpses.

Comments:

-[The vanguard, they’re dead…!]

-[Why are you killing the ones who just startedㅋㅋㅋ]

-[But without any advice, they’re just charging in, so they’re bound to die ㅎ]

-[Yeah, that’s true]

-[What, is the boss raid finally ready?]

-[I heard some clans or individuals have already started the boss raid]

-[It’s not that they’re going in, but they’re coming out and posting results](Author)

-[Ooh]

—————————————–

—————————————–

Title: The vanguard is going in first, so I think I’ll take a break.

Author: ㅇㅇ

Content: [A post about the ‘vanguard’ taking on the boss raid.jpg]

It’s better to watch the vanguard’s performance and strategies before diving in.

Comments:

-[But the vanguard can only go once, so it’s more like a survival note than a strategy, right?]

-[That makes sense;;]

-[What, the vanguard is already diving in?]

-[ㅇㅇ](Author)

-[Watching is so fun~]

-[ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]

—————————————–

Seeing other users or clans diving into the boss raid as the vanguard and posting their results…

I decided to drop the idea of using the acceleration ticket and just chill for a day or two to observe the situation.
