Chapter 447

Episode 447. Big Ship, Even Bigger Ship. (2)

==========

Seeing the reactions of us old-timers, the fresh-faced newbies (3-year veterans, already old) responded with a mix of indifference, saying, “Why are these guys making such a fuss over something they should already know?”

Of course, that indifference quickly vanished when another veteran posted about the “Capital Ship of the Ancient Empire.”

—————————————–

**Title:** The Capital Ship of the Ancient Empire is Worth the Hype

**Author:** ㅇㅇ

**Content:** [Image of a toad raising its sunglasses]

First off, its size is actually smaller compared to your average “Super Dreadnought.”

But its performance is downright broken.

– Its mobility is slightly lower than the Pirate Alliance’s, but still insane.

– Its barrier coverage is slightly weaker than the Xenobia Empire’s.

– Its firepower is a bit weaker than the Earth Federation’s.

– Its ability to produce aircraft and small ships is slightly weaker than the Space Monsters’.

It’s basically a fusion of all four factions, making it a powerful ancient relic that can rival each faction’s flagship on its own.

Of course, being a game, it’s not without its flaws.

Since it’s an ancient ship forcibly reactivated, its barriers and mobility don’t last as long as you’d expect.

And compared to even the 5th-tier Super Dreadnought or other ships, its radar detection range is pathetically short.

The lore says its radar is busted from being so old, but let’s be real—without escort ships, it’s basically blind.

**Comments:**

– [Heeeh?]

– [It’s not that extreme, more like 70% of a standard battleship.]

– [Even that’s pretty crippled by modern standards…?]

– [It’s an ancient ship dug up and forced into service, what more do you want?]

– [Fair enough.]

—————————————–

Aside from its short detection range and the limitations in utilizing its abilities…

It’s a classic all-rounder, a jack-of-all-trades ship.

Most users were realizing just how terrifying this Ancient Empire Capital Ship is, reacting with a mix of awe and “Hoooooooly.”

Of course, some users still didn’t get it, tilting their heads and wondering if it’s really that much better than the individual factions…

**Title:** Adults Love Numbers

If you tell adults, “I saw this amazing ship that combines the strengths of all factions—Earth Federation’s firepower, Pirate Alliance’s mobility, Xenobia’s tanking, and Space Monsters’ swarm tactics,” they won’t get it.

Instead, you have to say, “I saw a 10,000-point ship.”

Only then will they go, “Wow, that’s an amazing ship!”

**Comments:**

– [Such a profound story.]

– [Wait, what? 10,000 points?]

– [Yeah, Ancient Empire ships are OP but cost a fortune in points.]

– [A 10,000-point ship? Respect.]

– [If you capture it, you basically get a 10,000-point ship for free, lol.]

– [Nah, capturing it isn’t allowed by the system.]

—————————————–

Soon, the “10,000-point” joke left by an anonymous user had everyone nodding in agreement.

==========

Anyway, once everyone figured out what was coming in the raid, users started discussing how to absolutely wreck it.

The problem was, there weren’t just 3 types of enemies—there were 6 (well, technically 5).

So, as we repaired our ships, the debate only grew deeper…

And it boiled down to two main strategies.

One of them was…

—————————————–

**Title:** Let’s Capture the Ancient Empire Capital Ship

**Author:** ㅇㅇ

**Content:** [A sketchy-looking battle plan.jpg]

A lot of Pirate Alliance users have been getting Anchorage-Class salvage ships lately.

We’re gonna use those to harpoon it like whale hunting.

How’s it gonna dodge a wormhole harpoon with all that barrier spam? LOL.

**Comments:**

– [Ooooh.]

– [This is straight-up madness.]

[In the ultra-long-range bombardment event, there are some crazy folks trying to pull off close-range harpooning.]

-˪[But it’s romantic, right?]

-˪[True that.]

—————————————–

So, they were trying to capture the “Capital Ship of the Ancient Empire,” which has a whopping 10,000 Fleet Points.

They even mobilized forced salvage ships to make escape impossible, as mentioned in the gallery post above.

They were putting in all their effort, trying every possible method they could think of, but…

Sadly, despite their herculean efforts, reality was just brutally harsh in every way.

Title: People keep posting about trying to capture the Ancient Empire’s Capital Ship, but it’s a waste of time.

To be precise, this is a story that applies to the super dreadnought boss raid in this event.

First off, the point cost is huge. Remember the “Beehive” from when Icarus Gold started?

As revealed in the ship storage business, there are some tricks, so you might think, “Let’s just blow up two patrol ships and take it.”

But the problem is, capturing that ship is impossible.

Why?

Because to capture a ship, you either need to send in superhumans and assault troops to subdue it, or you have to beat the ship into submission.

But of course, it absolutely won’t surrender.

And inside that ship, there are unavoidable laser traps everywhere, ignoring physics, so the moment you step in, you’re toast.

Even if you’re a superhuman with insane tanking abilities, you’ll just melt.

I don’t know if it’s a game mechanic or what, but someone once modded it to produce the ship and ran some experiments.

But even with hundreds of thousands of assault pods and hundreds of SSS-class bruiser superhumans, they still couldn’t capture it. LOL.

You might think, “Then can’t we just deploy close-range superhumans?” Well, you can land them on the outer deck and destroy the defensive weapons to harpoon it.

Just don’t go inside. Got it?

Oh, and I briefly mentioned the points earlier, but the real issue is that 10,000 points.

The points are just too high. Even if you use some tricks to capture it later,

your fleet will slowly get whittled down due to various issues, and you won’t be able to replenish it.

Remember, in the current situation without mods, the maximum Fleet Points users can get is around 2,000 to 3,000.

But 10,000 points?

That alone will paralyze your shipyard.

You might ask, “What’s the problem with that?” Well, if someone later raids your base and destroys your Resource Mining Fleet or other stuff, you’re screwed.

The same goes for other fleets—you can’t replenish them, and they just keep getting weaker.

Of course, you might think, “Well, isn’t it worth it to get a super dreadnought for free?”

But the problem is, you can’t even sell it on the market.

Why? Because it’s ridiculously expensive. The minimum trade price is in the tens of millions to hundreds of millions of gold. Who’s gonna buy that?

The moment you buy it, your fleet is just paralyzed.

Plus, the maintenance cost is disgustingly high. I don’t know if it’s intentional,

but the daily maintenance costs hundreds of thousands of minerals and 100,000 to 200,000 rare resources.

And here’s the most critical issue:

If a user, whether through mods or whatever, forcibly captures it, the “uncapturable” trait disappears.

The 24/7 internal anti-capture system shuts down, making it vulnerable to being captured by other users at any time.

So, what’s the conclusion?

If anyone tries to capture it, sooner or later, you’ll end up just being a pauper. Got it?

—————————————–

Comments:

-[Holy crap.]

-[Then how did they handle it before? The person who said they captured it with mods?]

-˪[Of course, since it was modded, it was removed quickly.](Author)

-[It really feels like it was made purely for an event boss.]

-[Ah, what a shame.]

—————————————–

With the veterans giving such sincere advice, blatantly saying it’s impossible and that you’ll just ruin yourself if you try,

the formation of whaling fleets for the Ancient Empire’s Capital Ship quietly dwindled away.
