Chapter 440. The Event That Looks More Dangerous Than Expected (1)
Anyway, even though it ended in such a vague and ambiguous way, it didn’t immediately change my life, our fleet, or the lives of the superhumans.
From the start, they only pushed me as the central leader, but no one was willing to give up their own interests to fully come under my command.
I also had no intention of breaking my head over other rankers, especially those running massive clans like Antares, Betelgeuse, or Arcadia.
I welcomed the “live and let live” approach and decided to check the status of our newly acquired bases.
Of course, the new bases were, well, what you’d expect given their level.

Out of the three, Arclight was the only Level 2 base, and its power was barely this much. The Level 1 bases didn’t even have Heavy Cruisers in their defense fleets.
“Commander, about the three new bases we acquired, including Arclight Surveillance Base…”
“Yeah?”
“It’s too hard to defend them! The maximum number of fleets and aircraft that can be stationed there is too low!”
“Tiamat is right. The only saving grace is that other commanders have docked their bases at the Spiralus Research Institute.”
“Well, that is a problem.”
It was only natural for Belial and Tiamat, who oversee my fleet and aircraft, to say this. But from the start, Level 3 and below bases were more like “forward bases” for other users. I considered them more as backup and didn’t worry too much about their weak defenses.
And not long after, about a month and a week after Humanity’s “revolution,” something happened.

**<<[New Event Notice]>>**
**[A new event notice for all commanders!]**
**[The ‘All-Big-Ship’ event will begin in one week!]**
**[Detailed explanations will be uploaded tomorrow!]**
**[Important Notes!]**
**[This event is strictly for Heavy Cruisers and above—only ‘Large Ships’ can participate. Light Cruisers and below—‘Small Ships’—are not allowed!]**
**[The criteria for ‘Small Ships’ is based on the ship’s ‘size,’ so even high-point ships that are small in size will be excluded. Please understand.]**

“An event here?!”
The event title alone was enough to excite battleship enthusiasts. Naturally, my thoughts about low-level bases were pushed to the back of my mind.

The next morning.
After arriving at the command center (aka “going to work”), I was munching on the fish and chips Jessica brought, slurping my morning coffee, when a *ding-ding* notification sound caught my attention. I immediately opened my mailbox to check what event had arrived.
And the moment I saw the event message…

**[Global Announcement]**
**<<[‘All-Big-Ship’ Event Notice]>>**
**[Event Duration: 3 Weeks]**
**[The event map layout will be completely random.]**
**[The map size is super large.]**
**[Event Battle Modes]**
**[After completing one mode, you’ll choose another from the remaining options.]**
**[Once a ‘mode’ is completed, it cannot be repeated.]**
**[1v1 Mode: Commanders’ fleets will face off in 1 vs 1 battles.]**
– **[If matchmaking takes too long, you’ll fight a buffed random NPC fleet.]**
– **[The NPC fleet will randomly copy one of the participating commanders’ fleets.]**
**[Battle Royale Mode: An unspecified number of commanders will participate.]**
– **[Fight for a set time, and rankings will be determined by the number of surviving ships.]**
**[Team Battle Mode: Commanders will be randomly grouped…]**
It’s a way to form a team and fight against the opposing team.
˪[During the battle, team kills are possible, but once the battle ends, ships sunk due to team kills will be restored.]
˪[Also, if it is considered an intentional team kill, the Commander in question may be forced to compensate the affected Commander with resources and points, so please be careful.]
[Those who have played all three modes above will finally engage in a raid-style battle.]
[Raid Style: Commanders join forces to take down a powerful boss ship and its escort fleet.]
˪[The boss ship and escort fleet are random, and the boss escort fleet may include small ships.]
[Attention!]
[In this event, only ‘Heavy Cruisers’ or larger ships can be deployed in the fleet!]
[Additionally, Commanders cannot deploy ‘Small Ships’ in their fleets!]
[The criteria for ‘Small Ships’ are strictly based on ‘size,’ so even some special ships with high points but small size cannot be used!]
[In this event, if a ship or superhuman is sunk or killed, they will be revived in a heavily damaged or severely injured state, respectively.]
[However, superhumans who are sunk or killed in battle cannot be deployed in other battles, so Commanders, please be cautious.]
[The event is scheduled to take place one week from today.]

As I was reading through the event details, I suddenly realized the reason behind this event and clapped my hands, exclaiming:
“Oh, wow, they’re really trying to cut down on the number of large ships this time, huh?”
“What do you mean, Commander?”
Of course, Jessica, who was sipping her decaf coffee next to me, was startled by my sudden outburst and perked up her rabbit ears, asking me.
But instead of answering her…
I immediately opened the gallery to show the reactions of veteran users who would likely feel the same way as I did.
And sure enough, the users’ reactions were pretty much the same as mine.

Title: This event is literally a large ship killer event
Author: Pandohakseong Lover
Content: [Full event message screenshot.png]
At first, the devs kept saying, ‘Use more small ships,’ and held events favoring small ships, but in reality, users are large ship enthusiasts, so there are way too many large ships.
Small ships, unless they’re gacha ships, are treated as disposable and get wiped out, while large ships survive and level up, making the situation pretty bad.
So, what do they do? They create a battle where only Heavy Cruisers and larger ships can participate, forcing long-range combat so you guys can kill each other off.
They made an event to cut down on large ships.
Comments
-[Oh, now that I think about it, that makes sense]
-[It’s true, users these days hardly use small ships unless it’s for clan battles or base sieges]
-[Wow, this guy’s still alive?]
-˪[Who is he?]
-˪[The guy who first hit rank 1 when this game was possessed]
-˪[So, a loser from the past]

Title: This event seems fun, but honestly, I’m a bit worried about participating
Author: Mosquito Juice
Content: [Event summary.jpg]
On the surface, it looks like a big gun-loving show for battleship enthusiasts, but in reality, I’m thinking about whether this event will screw us over in future clan battles, large-scale battles, or PVP.
If things go wrong, participating in this event could lead to a mass slaughter of large ships, and honestly, it might be better not to participate at all.
Comments
-[That’s definitely true]
-[Even if it’s not a Dreadnought-Class, it takes at least a week to build a single Battleship]
-[Even if they’re docked at a base, if things go wrong, you could end up spending a whole month just building ships, seriously]
-˪[It’s risky, no doubt]

Not only the former rank 1 veteran but also other veterans kept expressing that this event was ‘interesting but dangerous.’
Seeing these reactions, users in the gallery and chat were starting to think, ‘Maybe it’s better not to participate in the event.’
And the veterans’ concerns didn’t stop there…
