The One Hundred Sixty-Sixth Date in Progress
This was originally a specially prepared stage for a fashion show in the academy, but there were no lights, no cameras, no music, and even no audience at this moment. Standing in front of such a cold, empty stage, Lei couldn’t help feeling a sense of withdrawal.
“Can I… really do this?”
Lei, with her hands crossed over her heart, muttered to herself, seemingly retreating from an empty stage ahead, or perhaps seeking answers to another question.
“If you retreat now, wouldn’t that be too ‘Nonsense’?”
A much warmer hand enveloped hers, with a smile that seemed genuine, conveying courage.
“Now, here’s our stage.”
Following the “small watermelon” toss by Ash, overhead spotlights activated, illuminating both of them and moving along with their steps. At the same time, a strong, melodious yet passionate music started playing, and they took their first step together.
Holding Ash’s hand, Lei suddenly remembered what he had told her before: “Feel with your whole body, think with your mind, judge with your heart.” Thinking about this, she looked around at the hollow, silent surroundings, attempting to regain her usual calm.
On this stage with no audience, she followed only the echoes of footsteps in the space, a particular surge of emotion rising within her.
“Do you see?”
“Yes, I see!”
Though her natural shyness was difficult to change, as long as there was some sort of ‘guidance’, even a girl who wouldn’t fret at critical moments would become serious once entering the state!
Her facial expression, starting from awkwardness and shyness, gradually transformed into excitement on the stage, although she was initially half-forced into joining Ash. Now Lei seemed able to imagine students watching and cheering for her performance!
“Indeed!”
Lei seemed to understand something; she appeared to ‘guess’ why Ash had somewhat forced her to go on a date and why they were playing this walk show game!
Some things, however beautiful they might seem in dreams, cannot be realized.
For example, this stage. If everyone were here, smiles could be shared, and feelings of joy and happiness could connect everyone!
Indeed, beauty that exists only in dreams is wrong! Without reality, nothing holds meaning!
Just then, after Ash had satisfied his urge to ‘show off’, he felt sudden pain surging through his chest! Like an electric shock, it spread throughout his body instantly. With one hand supporting his top hat and his temple veins bulging, he half-crouched on the ground.
This pain wasn’t due to physical injuries, but came from deep within his soul, like the unstable foundation of Lego blocks making noise as they’re stacked higher.
Simply put, the damage was terminal.
“Ash!?”
Seeing her companion fall, Lei, naturally, approached in panic, but Ash waved her away with his hand.
Awful timing…just right for Kayin to disappear, while he can’t accurately assess the overall condition of his body.
Miraculously, his wide-brimmed hat slightly遮住了剩余内容。
