Chapter 43: Information

Chapter 43: Information

“Is this really the only option?”

Smir sighed.

“This city is not under our control, and clearly, the Grand Priestesses lean towards Your Majesty.”

Mason replied helplessly.

“Then let’s prepare well for the upcoming battle.”

Seeing that the two wise men had no other ideas, Tugur spoke up.

His words echoed the sentiments of the other three present.

“We not only need to prepare for battle; we also need to devise a strategy against Your Majesty.”

Mason added.

In the next moment, the Elven Lords, including Mason, frowned.

They realized they knew very little about Airael.

Before Airael came of age, she had been undergoing various training arranged by Linis within the Avalon Royal Palace.

After reaching adulthood, Your Majesty went out into the world for a while and returned to take the throne, leading the Elven Race to where it stands today.

During that time, she had never taken action.

Linis had protected her very well, and even if they were to glean some information about Airael’s strength, it turned out to be trivial facts.

For example: they knew Airael was both a mage and a warrior, but they weren’t clear about her specific school of magic.

What was her combat style like?

These were all unknowns for them.

In contrast, if Airael wanted to gather information about them, it would be much easier.

Many of their details were not secrets, especially to Airael, who was supported by Linis.

Realizing this, Mason spoke gravely: “You should be aware, our understanding of Your Majesty is quite limited. On the other hand, it would be very easy for her to learn about us.”

The unknown is the source of fear.

Even if the enemy is powerful, as long as you know some details, with their strength and experience, it’s not impossible to fight back.

For them, Airael was an unknown strong adversary, and soon they would engage in combat with her.

“Now, gathering information aside, we don’t have the time. Perhaps we can boldly theorize about Your Majesty’s information based on what we already know.”

After thinking for a while, Smir made his suggestion.

“Bold theorizing? Although it seems a bit unreliable, it’s the only choice we have right now.”

Mason furrowed his brows and then agreed.

The other Elven Lords said nothing.

While Smir and Mason spoke, they just needed to sit back and listen.

They’d absorb what was said and consider whether it benefited them, harmed them, or had no effect at all.

While the Elven Lords were boldly speculating about Airael’s information, Airael had already stopped practicing with Celia and Aurora in the royal palace.

Though she could continue, Celia and Aurora were at their limits.

Fighting against Airael was already tough for them, let alone enduring for such a long time.

Airael did not push them too hard.

Just then, Linis sent someone to deliver good things, giving Airael something to do.

In the courtyard, Airael sat in a chair, examining the papers in her hands.

These papers contained the information Linis had gathered about the Elven Lords.

Of course, it focused primarily on combat matters.

If it included detailed accounts of their lives, it would require not just a few sheets of paper but volumes of books.

After all, they had lived for thousands of years.

In a mere few decades, a human could write several exciting books about their experiences.

Before delving into detailed knowledge about the six elves, Airael decided to get a rough idea.

She learned that among the six elves, only two were mages, while the other four were warriors.

Their strengths ranged from the tenth to eleventh rank, with the possibility that some had already surpassed the eleventh rank.

Nearby, Hela accompanied a group of maidens, playing with Anna.

However, Anna quickly grew tired of playing with them and walked over to Airael, tugging at her skirt with her little hands.

Airael’s gaze shifted to her.

“Anna, what do you need from your mother?”

“Mommy, hug me.”

Anna opened her arms, signaling that she wanted Airael to pick her up.

Airael couldn’t help but smile. She set down the documents she was holding, reached out, and lifted Anna into her arms, letting her little bottom sit on her lap, while one hand wrapped around her to prevent her from falling.

With her other hand, she picked up the documents she had set down earlier and continued reading.

Anna, cradled in her mother’s arms, was quite well-behaved and didn’t fuss.

The little one, surrounded by her mother’s familiar scent, relaxed and closed her eyes in enjoyment.

Airael briefly glanced at her, smiled softly, and went back to her reading.

Upon closer inspection, she realized she had underestimated those Elven Lords a bit.

As beings who had lived for thousands of years, each of them possessed a wealth of combat experience, that much was undeniable.

In addition, there were their equipment.

After millennia of accumulation, while not on par with the Sword of Dawn, they were certainly not inferior to her own.

If they all entered the battle fully equipped, it might genuinely be a tough fight.

Nevertheless, Airael didn’t feel particularly fearful.

Strong equipment was one thing, but ultimately, combat comes down to the combatants.

The main players in this battle were her and those six Elven Lords.

Besides, she had the advantage over equipment too.

The existence of the Sword of Dawn was something they could never surpass.

Time swiftly passed, and a week later, Airael woke up early that day.

She looked completely unperturbed. After washing up, she began to personally help Anna get out of bed, followed by enjoying breakfast, and finally feeding Anna until she was full.

After completing all these tasks, Airael donned a shining silver armor with golden patterns, a red cloak adorned with the Life Tree symbol on the back, and grasped the all-golden Sword of Dawn as she stepped out of the royal palace.

All of it made Airael appear quite noble.

It was just that her staff and armor seemed somewhat mismatched.

Neither a warrior nor a mage.

Even for those who dual-practice, many elves tend to specialize in one.

When Airael arrived at the arena, the eight Elven Lords and Linis were already gathered.

Today, the arena had been booked exclusively by them and was closed to the public.

It was important to note that today’s battle was unlike any ordinary one.

It held significant meaning; how could it be used for entertainment?
