“What did you just say?!”
Ivyst’s voice was dripping with surprise.
Calmly, Lynn repeated his previous statement.
At that moment, a familiar system notification chimed in his ear.
【The plot deviation degree of the S-level character “Ivyst Roland Alexini” has increased to 0.53%.】
No way?!
40 whole system points credited? Lynn was stunned.
He never expected that just a little wool pulled from Ivyst could equal the hard work he’d done all afternoon.
With that, his accumulated points climbed to a neat 83.
For him now, that felt like a windfall from the heavens.
He could even upgrade the Liars’ Devourer and Thorn Crown again, but thinking about it carefully, it didn’t seem all that useful.
But he had guessed right.
This little action of his had indeed rewritten Ivyst’s future destiny to some extent.
While Lynn was lost in thought, he suddenly caught a whiff of a delicate rose fragrance.
Then, he felt a lightness in his hand.
Lynn looked up to find Ivyst had somehow appeared before him.
At this moment, she had taken the pile of Transcendent Contracts, her expression serious as she quickly flipped through the pages, carefully reading the terms.
Each signature was from a different name, with pressed fingerprints alongside.
Noticing this, Lynn took a subtle glance at Ivyst.
The princess’s style of dress seemed to have changed again.
Today she had her glossy black hair styled up high, adorned with an array of lavish jewels, making her radiate elegance and grandeur.
Furthermore, she wore a wave-patterned long gown reminiscent of Bohemian style from his past life, in a deep crimson, embellished with flowers and diamonds.
The gown cascaded down below her knees, her slim calves wrapped in black stockings, and on her feet were a pair of exquisite short-heeled boots.
Compared to her earlier look in a somber black dress, Ivyst now appeared somewhat softer, yet more mature.
Though still quite young, she exuded a graceful aura akin to that of a noblewoman.
In the words of his former life, she had the vibe of an irresistible wife.
Too bad, only Lynn could appreciate such beauty.
Others would feel disgust and fear at the sight of her, unable even to meet her gaze.
Time passed slowly.
As Ivyst continued to browse, her shock became increasingly hard to contain.
She could distinctly feel the faint power contained within the Transcendent Contracts.
This only underscored that these pieces of paper weren’t just empty words.
After all, it would be quite simple to clear this up; they just needed to send someone outside the city.
If they hadn’t truly handled things flawlessly, those nobles and officials would never casually let the refugees into the city.
It was better to say that those who co-conspired with the Church of Heavenly Justice were itching to see her in a tough spot.
But no one had expected that a nameless boy could so effortlessly defuse such a crisis and danger.
Ivyst’s breathing started to quicken.
She initially thought finding a talent like Lynn was a pleasant surprise.
However, the skills and intelligence he had shown thus far kept blowing her away.
This flawless handling had undoubtedly resolved her pressing concerns.
Not only did it smash the arrogance of those lowlifes, but it also managed to enhance her reputation, albeit invisibly.
With the threat of the refugees’ safety lifted, Ivyst felt an immense weight off her shoulders. She let out a rare sigh of relief.
Then, for some reason, she felt a little perplexed.
How long had it been since she felt this unprecedented lightness?
It was simply… delightful.
All she had to do was sit in her chair and call the shots, and soon someone would come bearing good news to please her.
Was this what it felt like to have a top-notch advisory team under her siblings’ command?
Ivyst’s heartbeat began to accelerate.
She suddenly grasped the elegance of handling matters without relying on violence.
Too bad, before this, none of her subordinates could hold a candle to Lynn.
Not even close.
This only made her feel even more that, besides herself, no one else should possess this gem.
With that thought, Ivyst’s eyes sparkled as she turned to Lynn, “Tell me how you managed to pull this off in just an afternoon.”
As soon as this came up, Lynn perked up.
He rolled up his sleeves, “Your Highness, about this, I actually faced quite a bit of injustice. You’ve got to stand up for me—those kids from the Security Bureau are just the worst. They’ve been snarky and repeatedly obstructing our work. That aside, the refugees weren’t great either. The moment I approached, they surrounded me, claiming they’d knock me out. But who am I? I’m your underling, representing you and the Empire’s dignity. Naturally, I couldn’t back down just because of a little threat to my life. So I slammed the table and told them…”
While Lynn rambled on, a flash of red light suddenly flickered from the ring on Ivyst’s finger.
She glanced down, her brows furrowing.
This ring was an ancient cursed object that could quickly distinguish whether someone was telling the truth or lying.
She had put it on when meeting the clergy of the Church of Heavenly Justice, only to forget it was still on.
Now she realized, this guy was actually lying.
Ivyst was taken aback.
Did she really come off too nice, letting this guy take advantage of her and push his luck?
The atmosphere suddenly grew a bit chilly.
Seeing this, Lynn chuckled awkwardly, cutting his blabbering.
He scratched his head, “Actually, it’s just the same old story: divide a group, win over another, either through intimidation or bribery, and then eliminate the ringleaders. The remaining rabble would crumble.”
But while it sounded easy, executing it was far more challenging.
People have their own thoughts; everyone faced different situations with distinct viewpoints, and couldn’t change their beliefs just because of a few words.
Lynn’s ability to handle those guys had a lot to do with the Liars’ Devourer.
Ivyst gazed at the dark-haired, blue-eyed boy before her, momentarily silent.
He was only 17.
If he grew for a few more years, what level could he reach? Perhaps the foolish nobles in the Imperial Capital would regret provoking such a formidable guy.
Ivyst even vaguely sensed that, even without her help, Lynn would eventually achieve vengeance one day.
Fortunately, for now, the Hypnosis link kept him unable to escape her grasp.
But, she didn’t particularly like this coercive and intimidating method.
Ivyst hoped that one day, he would choose to stay by her side out of his own volition.
With this thought, she unexpectedly revealed a smile.
“You did a great job on this.” Ivyst placed the contracts on the desk, leaning against the window sill, “So, I want to reward you.”
“Lynn, if you have any wishes, you can tell me now. Whatever it is, I’ll make it happen.”
She crossed her arms, appearing incredibly pure and beautiful in the moonlight.
