Chapter 41

Isla hits Wide.

Wide hits Tisah.

Anyway, most of the soldiers were exhausted on the battlefield when the fanatics attacked.

Even so, most of the fanatics weren’t enemies. They weren’t even drunk on anything and once a few people died, they tried to retreat.

But then Wide burned the person fleeing and ordered them to keep fighting—it was a mistake.

At that moment, Tisah shouted that if they converted to the Seongsin Church, they’d be spared.

By the way, Tisah is a great hero in the Ansellus Kingdom—super noble. His reputation until now was enough to convince the terrified believers to change the direction of their swords.

There was even a Blessed One of lower rank among them.

Shows how little influence they had, right?

But still, the power balance on the battlefield didn’t shift much, and the powerful ones like Wide and his inner circle remained.

It was clearly a dangerous moment.

Despite the losses, Wide brushed off his subordinate trying to stop him and charged forward, saying this was the only chance to kill Tisah.

How does he know so much?

They have different things to build toward.

If things go as they are, Tisah will gain the backing of the Ansellus Kingdom. Meanwhile, Miri’s pseudo-religion is in a precarious position.

The gap in strength will only widen.

So Wide seems willing to overlook the casualties among the believers and keep attacking.

Most importantly, there were hardly any fighters left on the battlefield anyway. After relentless attacks until sunset, Wide clearly gained the upper hand.

It was almost over.

But then…

Suddenly, reinforcements arrived from somewhere.

Even though Tisah never asked for help, an army came from the south and attacked Wide.

Surprisingly, the one who came to help Tisah was a viscount.

Listening to him talk is hilarious.

He claims it’s all for the Ansellus Kingdom and that they should unite against the evil heretics.

But he says this despite acting out of personal desire. Still, Tisah accepted the aid.

Even so, the tide only barely shifted to equal footing because the viscount’s army was also exhausted.

Wide furiously berated the viscount, but the viscount shot back immediately.

Then Tisah and the viscount both shouted the name of the Seongsin Church and charged in.

That’s when something really cowardly happened.

Yeah, it was pretty cowardly.

Light poured down from the sky, healing everyone around.

Ke he he…

It’s the god!

Yeah, clearly the god intervened. Whoa, so the god really exists?

The priest drew power from his head and used it—I thought it was some kind of psychic ability from his brain, but I guess I was wrong.

There’s a god over there.

After that, it’s obvious what happens. Once the injured recovered, the tide turned instantly, and Wide and his group were defeated.

Once defeat was certain, Wide tried to flee again, but this time a short blade pierced his heart from behind.

It was Isla.

She got her revenge. But in return, she was roasted by Wide’s purple fire.

Burns must hurt horribly, yet she smiled as she died.

Light falls down.

Plop.

Two sources of warmth came to me.

Always the winner, always wanting to stay above others—Wide.

And Isla, who found paternal affection with Witga after her defeat.

Their story ends here.

But Tisah’s continues.

He accepted those who converted, killed those who fought to the end, and returned to the palace.

Soon after, he married the queen and became king.

Why? Simple—he performed a miracle. Again, the Ansellus Kingdom is a devout nation of the Seongsin Church. In a dire situation, the god directly blessed him and defeated the heretics.

And the one who testified to this wasn’t anyone else but the viscount, who was Tisah’s enemy.

Not an ambitious viscount but a believer witnessing the miracle, explaining the situation, and no one could deny it.

Deny it?

Of course, there were some, but they were labeled as heretics and executed.

And thus, the eternal all-purpose worker wage master was born.

Later, he held a wedding with the former queen, accepted concubines, got scolded severely by the queen…

But he had kids and lived well enough.

Meanwhile, Andrew steadily expanded Miri’s sect.

Maybe learning from the Future Hope Church, he stopped rushing, carefully gathered followers, and adjusted to not exploit them too harshly while growing the sect.

And during this, he instructed his subordinates to prepare for calling the god.

On the day Wide brought his men to attack Tisah…

Andrew didn’t send his own men, so there were still Blessed Ones left. Among them were several who had learned Yasle’s magic—not just one, but many.

Yeah.

You’re right.

They prepared to summon me.

Not bad.

Since I know their faces, it’ll be easier to move once summoned.

He spent time preparing the offering.

But it failed.

Yet it was a cross-verified summoning ritual made by many that failed.

Everyone was greatly disappointed.

But that wasn’t the problem. If it failed, you can try again, right? The opportunity itself became dangerous.

A bigger crisis struck.

The Blessed Ones started getting killed one by one.

I don’t know what happened. Even looking into the memories of the dead, I couldn’t figure out how they died—they just had their heads cleanly cut off.

Even the last remaining Blessed One died in terror. Still, one thing’s clear: no ordinary people died until all the Blessed Ones were gone.

Meaning, they were specifically targeted.

So I don’t know what happened to Andrew afterward.

There was no perspective left to see.

And it wasn’t just him.

Even the Blessed Ones who somehow survived and fled far away were killed.

They kept dying one by one.

Among them was someone trying to summon me, which really pisses me off.

Several times, it seemed like they were almost successful.

So I had to watch my harvest system disappear repeatedly.

If they’re gonna do that, why don’t they go to Tisah?!

Isn’t he the most famous Blessed One?!

Why are you killing the ones who ran off to remote places?! No way! Those are my potential customers through ads!

Sad.

While furiously searching through the memories of the slain and the perspectives of the living, I realized something.

Looking closely, a question arose.

Were their attempts really failures?

All of them claimed they made mistakes leading to failure, but these were smart individuals who interpreted Yasle’s magic and summoned me, right?

Strange.

Could someone be interfering?

Preventing me from returning there?

In that case, I need to change my ad strategy. Record it in a book.

Yeah, that’s right.

If they’re specifically targeting the Blessed Ones, then setting up a scenario where non-Blessed Ones summon me would work.

A book allows anyone to summon. Why didn’t I think of that before? This is a good idea. If I ever go to another world, I should leave a book there too.

But that’s not enough.

I can bless too few people. Is there a way to do it remotely?

Not just harvesting but increasing the number of people receiving blessings on my behalf.

I’ve set a new goal.

Creating proxy blessers.

But no matter how much I think about it, I can’t figure it out.

Just like that, time passed.

Now it’s unclear whether the rapid deaths were due to murder or old age—it’s been that long.

Now, Tisah is undoubtedly a great king. He didn’t just rebuild the Ansellus Kingdom; he made it greater.

Not only the Ansellus Kingdom but most kingdoms east of the Skad Stone Desert believe in the Seongsin Church. And now, a kingdom ruled by someone directly blessed by the god has appeared.

The Ansellus Kingdom absorbed smaller neighboring kingdoms and grew significantly larger.

But at the age of sixty, he abdicated the throne to his son with the same purple hair and retired.

Thanks to his regenerative abilities, he looks like he’s in his fifties despite being past sixty. Still, he handed over the throne to his son.

And he lives on, honoring his deceased wife with his surviving one.

More time passed. All his wives passed away.

When his son handed the throne to his grandson and retired like his father…

Even with his regenerative powers, he couldn’t withstand the environment of the modern era and began to die. Surrounded by his son, daughter, grandson, and granddaughter, he exchanged final words and closed his eyes.

His last spark of life faded.

Yeah.

Time to fulfill the contract.

This is what I said:

“I offer myself to you. In return, when you complete everything, I’ll take everything you possess. How does that sound?”

Everything you possess.

I thought I’d only get Tisah’s warmth until then. But no. His children. His grandchildren.

Lines extend from him to his descendants.

I can grasp them. There are plenty of god-assisted people over there. It’d be safer to just take Tisah’s warmth.

But…

I…

The god…

Nope.

I extended my hands to everyone.

Similar to what I saw with Yasle before, but a differently flavored barrier wrapped around Tisah’s light.

So…

What…

Contracts come first.

I shattered the barrier and grabbed everything he had built in one go.

Crack.

Huh?

From Tisah’s center, cracks formed like breaking glass, spreading through all his descendants. Fine cracks embedded in their heads, though no one seems to notice.

Crack crack.

The hole grows larger.

Unlike last time, it’s not a pulling sensation, but more like a high ledge I can step on and climb.

So that’s what I did.

Clang!

No actual shattering sound occurred.

But a massive hole opened up in the light surrounding him, and I entered through it.

Opening my eyes, I see a familiar room of Tisah’s. Looking around, people with heads replaced by dark purple spheres stand there. No light, no warmth—just unreal, horror-game-like dark purple spheres replacing their heads.

Lowering my gaze, I see broken glass-like patterns extending everywhere, with the hole replacing Tisah’s upper body like a flower atop his lower half.

Inside the hole, instead of blood and flesh, endless darkness stretches.

So that’s where I came from.

Nearby by the window, a shape made of broken polygons randomly glowing appears.

Is this me?

Can’t I look cooler or prettier?

Ah, I’ve taken Rebecca’s form.

But entering Rebecca’s body feels freer than before.

Clang!

Then the nearby window shattered, and an old skeletal staff-riding silver-haired girl entered.

She looked around, sat down immediately, and fixed her gaze on one spot.

Yeah.

That’s me.

I walked up to her and greeted her after a long time.

“Hello, Witch of Joy.”

Tungkesuni bursts into laughter, though it’s out of fear since that’s all she can express in her frightened state.

“No, maybe I should say this instead…”

I squatted in front of her, meeting her eye level.

“It’s been a while. Nice to see you again, Tungkesuni.”

Ke he he.
