Chapter 388: Gathering of Witches

“Long time no see, Services, Chris, and Night Mistress.”

Tides seemed to step down from the air on a staircase formed by the air itself, her silver eyes slowly scanning over these three escaped witches.

“Long time no see, Tides.”

Services responded briefly and then moved to one side. She had little interaction with Tides and did not wish to get involved in old grudges. She simply stood here to ensure the safety of her two companions.

Although Tides was not particularly senior, she could create many special artifacts due to Phantom’s power, thereby mimicking other people’s abilities. For instance, the crescent staff she had just used was a replica of Dorothy’s staff of time, thus granting her the ability to manipulate and mend time.

This replication effect brought about by Phantom’s power made her almost omnipotent in terms of strength. Therefore, among the witches, her strength could rank within the top few.

“Welcome,” Chris said briefly to this suddenly visiting witch, while Night Mistress remained silent.

“Still not willing to speak, Night Mistress? It has been 133,954 days since we last met,” Tides looked at this porcelain doll-like witch.

“It should be 133,625 days. I saw you once at Dorothy’s grave,” Night Mistress finally spoke, closing the book that had been flipping through pages incessantly.

“Is that so? That was such a long time ago, how time flies.”

While Tides and the others were talking, two Sage-level 9 individuals also flew over. Chris first went over to explain, and they both gradually left, not wanting to interfere with the internal disputes among these witches.

At this moment, Lolan Hill also slowly flew over with Keti.

“It seems another gathering of witches is going to take place,” Services felt the atmosphere and invited everyone to land.

In the observatory room of the book.

The previously placed bookshelves had been retracted, leaving a rectangular blue coffee table in the center. On the table was a white porcelain red glaze gold tea set, surrounded by four sofas—two large and two small.

Among them, Tides sat alone on a long sofa, opposite her were Night Mistress, Chris, and Services.

Three people sat on the sofa. On the side sofa were Lolan Hill and Chris, both sitting together. Fortunately, the two girls had well-proportioned figures, so they weren’t too cramped, or perhaps Chris preferred it this way, leaning against Lolan Hill.

“Seems like everyone hasn’t arrived yet,” Servis said.

“Right, there’s one more. Hold on.” Chris stood up, her light pink and white princess dress fluttering through the silver mirror in the air. Soon after, she led out a girl with blue hair.

It was Vimya. Lolan Hill looked at that familiar face and immediately thought of her name.

“I’ll give a brief introduction then,” Chris began.

“This girl is Vimya, Phoebe’s successor. Though not complete yet, she will inherit Phoebe’s powers in the future and become the new Sea Witch.”

“Servis, the Gem Witch, little Lolan and Vimya should have met before, hehe.”

Amidst Chris’s laughter, the two recalled their initial days at school when they went to the town to buy clothes, nodding in agreement.

“Night Mistress, the witch of the Sealed Book; Tides, the witch of Thousand Changes; I, the Mirror Witch.”

“Chris, the Eighth Generation Flame Witch, just recently reborn,” Chris pointed to the innocent and curious red-haired girl.

“And finally, our youngest member, the Witch of Stars and Miracles, Lolan Hill.”

After the introductions, Tides looked at the blue-haired girl and asked, “How is Lady Phoebe doing?”

“Not too well, but currently stable. That’s why she sent me out to study and experience this world,” Vimya softly replied.

Phoebe was a very experienced witch, born in the same era as Attatis. Due to old war wounds, her life was nearing its end.

After years of searching, this Sea Witch found Vimya, whose temperament and talent matched perfectly, hoping to smoothly transfer her powers.

As a result, Vimya slept in the underwater crystal for centuries until recently waking up again. Unlike natural witches, her inheritance was bound to be lengthy and troublesome, with much of the power dissipating.

“So, we’ve managed to gather representatives from all sides,” Tides said.

“Yes,” Chris looked at Lolan Hill and Chris.

Tide looked at her with puzzled eyes and explained carefully.

Nowadays, witches are roughly divided into three factions. One faction consists of witches born before and after the Cataclysm, with Night Mistress being their nominal leader, including members like Chris, Thervis, and others.

Another faction is led by Tides, most of whom were born around the time of the Mercury Dynasty.

The last faction, which includes Selene, are mostly witches from the era of the Crimson Empire, among them Phoebe is also part of this group. However, apart from Phoebe, Selene and the others have not appeared in the Ivar World for a long time.

In total, there are less than twenty people in these three factions. Some haven’t been seen for hundreds of years and it’s uncertain whether they still exist in the world.

The witches present recalled the past, and Chris sighed slightly, “Since the fall of Oz Country, this is the first formal gathering.”

“However, nowadays gatherings are becoming increasingly simple.” Tides looked at the empty room, clapped her hands, and a series of burning brass candlesticks appeared around, followed by various delicacies and fruits appearing on the coffee table, some of which clearly had extraordinary properties.

“It can’t compare to Lady Atadis’s hospitality as recorded in the gems, but this is how it is for now. As for little Lolan, she might become a great person like Atadis in the future.” Tides said, then picked up a light green and crisp grape.

After a while of discussion, her emotions calmed down a bit.

“No,” Looking at the few Level 9 Great Witches in the venue, Lolan Hill felt that she currently did not have the strength to participate in the discussion.

“That’s true,” Chris nodded in agreement. In the eyes of witches, a hundred years is not a long time, and Lolan’s growth is just a matter of time.

“Mm,” Night Mistress rarely agreed.

As they continued talking, the estrangement between the witches who hadn’t seen each other for centuries gradually melted away, and only then did they start discussing serious matters.

“About what was found in the ruins of dusk, whether it can be used, whether it should be promoted in the Ivar World, and what restrictions should be placed.”

“This is the origin of the disputes and tragedy from hundreds of years ago.”

“Are things from the past really better? Is everything worth inheriting?”

“Should we follow in the footsteps of our predecessors? Or should we forge our own path?”

“Times have changed indeed.”
