Chapter 384 Special Operation
The Star Gazing Chamber within the Sealed Book.
Mercury threads wove through the Hall, spreading throughout the entire room, crisscrossing at angles. Mercury then flowed along these threads, forming mirrors that divided the Hall into sections. The scenes in sight fragmented into independent images, reflecting each other.
Although Chris had the power to traverse mirrors, Agatha possessed Dorothy’s special relic that could isolate space. This allowed her to trap both of them here. Otherwise, Night Mistress and Chris would have long broken through this isolated small space.
In nearly two weeks, Chris and Night Mistress had tried many methods, including burning with specially sealed flames, filling the hall with water and freezing it, but none were very effective.
Agatha’s concealed power and Dorothy’s emerald staff made it so that she could not be easily noticed by others and could hide in extremely tiny spaces. Under this dual-layered concealment, even two Level 9 magic casters found it hard to discover her.
However, this stalemate gradually broke. Firstly, the number of phantoms flying around the Hall was decreasing.
“It seems there has been good news outside,” said Night Mistress upon seeing this scene.
With just the chaos illusions they had previously gathered, they would have long been eliminated by the two of them. It was these continuous illusions that the two witches feared the most. Not only did this indicate problems within the school, but once the chaos illusions reached a certain quantity, they would slowly corrode them, causing them to lose their sanity and eventually become mad.
“Huh, I can finally relax now. Who was it that discovered something wrong with the school and solved it?” Chris’s voice became much lighter.
“I guess it was Little Lolan. She inherently has the power to counteract secrecy and deception, though it hasn’t fully developed yet. With Keti protecting and assisting her, she might have sensed something wrong,” said Night Mistress.
“Haha, I thought you’d guess Services. That guy is so close, why didn’t he help us?” said Chris with a chuckle.
“She only wants a peaceful life. It’s normal she didn’t come,” Night Mistress shook her head. She knew that her neighbor usually closed off her extraordinary senses, being indifferent to worldly affairs.
“But it might not be like that.” The long-sealed door suddenly opened, and a slightly magnetic voice echoed in the Hall.
A woman in a purple-black noble dress stepped in, extending her lace-gloved fingers and snapping her fingers crisply in the air. Suddenly, the entire space seemed frozen, everything becoming motionless.
Then part of it shattered, and the three resumed their movements.
“What a disgrace, Chris and Night Mistress.”
Services, wearing black high heels, slowly approached the two, the various colored gem pendants on her dress refracting light.
“You’re no better. You took so long to show up. I thought you remembered we were in the same faction,” Chris complained.
“I was just taking a nap. Who knew you two would get caught so quickly,” said Services.
Services looked like a mature lady, while Chris appeared like a young maiden, and Night Mistress like a loli. In fact, the gem witch Services was younger than both of them.
“Now, how should we handle the other party?” Services walked forward, pointing to a point in the Hall space, which glowed faintly red, as indicated by the gem witch.
Although Agatha’s actions were despicable, considering the reasons behind the factions among witches, Night Mistress’s side couldn’t directly kill her. Doing so might trigger another major war. Although they didn’t initiate it, Cui Cui would still have to fight against the Seven Snow Nations again, and ultimately, they didn’t want to escalate the intensity.
“Notify Tides. She is the leader of the opposing faction,” Night Mistress thought for a moment and said.
“Is that all we can do? It feels unsatisfactory,” Chris pouted, remembering that Agatha had planned to kill them.
“That’s all we can do. Agatha’s current state won’t last much longer,” Night Mistress sighed softly.
While the three were discussing, the point in the space seemed to struggle, but this space was condensed into gems by Services, and the suppression of power prevented her from escaping, fixing her in place.
Services was known as the Gem Witch, relying precisely on this power to turn everything into gems.

Within the Fortress Academy, members wearing armbands carried swords and knives, sealing the entire Fortress. They then proceeded to register and search each person one by one.
“Next,” a student with an armband sat behind a desk, looking at the nervous students in front of him, noting down their names and classes before letting them go.
This was the entrance to the Fortress. Two rows of neatly dressed members stood on either side, watching the students lining up to exit the gate. All students wanting to leave had to register at the table and undergo inspection.
The inspection device was a special pot of flowers. The pale yellow flowers drooped slightly, resembling a small lantern. When some students approached, it emitted a faint glow, and the students in uniform nearby would forcefully hold them down, dragging them to a small house aside. Inside, screams and struggles could be heard, making the queue of students anxious. Many students speculated about what cruel treatment those who entered the house suffered.
“What’s happening to them?”
“How scary. Will we be dragged in too?” A female student whispered to her companion.
“I don’t know, but Igli approved it, so it shouldn’t be a big deal,” the girl cautiously pointed to a conspicuous notice posted beside a stone pillar.
The notice clearly stated that all students of the Fortress Academy must register at the inspection site today and gather at the lakeside after passing the test. Failure to do so would result in them being considered lawbreakers by the Student Council, leading to announcements and penalties. The notice bore signatures from many large clubs within the academy, including several familiar names.
[‘Crimson Rose’ Ederon, ‘Honey Bud’ Igli, ‘Red Canvas’ Red Sail, ‘Snow Country Evergreen’ Bitter Leaf, ‘Song of Weaving’ Atati, ‘Whistling Wind Wings’ Ling]
Among them, the least famous was ‘Black Water Lily’ Loran. Many second and third-year students had never heard of her name, only some upperclassmen knew her background.
Across from the main gate, a café was located on the second floor of the Fortress, offering a view of the entrance and exit scenes below. Four members in red uniforms guarded the restaurant entrance, and most tables were empty except for a table by the window where two people were seated.
“It feels a bit harsh,” Loran Hill said, sitting at a white-clothed table, looking out the window.
“But this is the most convenient and quickest way,” replied Ederon, who wore a bright red dress, sitting opposite Loran Hill. He leaned back in his seat, holding a glass of clear red wine.
“It can’t be helped,” the young lady did not oppose too much. She understood the necessity of such extreme measures in critical times.
“By the way, what exactly is the punishment mentioned in the notice?” Loran turned her head and curiously looked at the prince opposite her.
“Haha, the unknown is always the most frightening. Actually, we don’t have any good punishment methods, since the Student Council doesn’t have the authority to expel students. But that doesn’t diminish its deterrent effect. The long list of signatures below is the best intimidation,” Ederon lightly sipped his wine and explained contentedly.
The striking red notices were posted all over the academy. Members with badges and armbands began searching classrooms, activity rooms, and gathering students by the lakeside.
Meanwhile, members flew around the perimeter of the Fortress, closely monitoring students trying to escape through the air or underwater.
The special operation within the academy had begun.
