Chapter 105 Yoma Demon
Seated on a park bench, awaiting someone, Tsukikage Lily clenched her handkerchief tightly as she brushed away another suitor with cold indifference. She wiped the reddened corners of her eyes for the fourth time.
“After all… It’s too much to ask for… Clearly, I was just being self-deceptive.”
However, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t forgive herself… She didn’t know why she felt this way, but she knew she couldn’t change her feelings… Hm?
Despite her sorrow, Lily’s keen eyes instantly noticed the peculiar sand beside her; knowing the enemy was the Desert Apostle, she naturally remained vigilant.
“Another Desert Apostle? No matter what you want…”
“No, this is the second time, but I’m not.”
In Lily’s stern gaze, the white sand began to emit an eerie voice.
“State your wish…”
“I have nothing—” Naturally, she didn’t let her guard down. Wiping away her tears, Lily immediately stepped back and took out half of her Heart Seed from her pocket.
“I can fulfill any wish for you, regardless of what it is.”
“A wish…”
Lily’s hand paused, which was preparing to channel her power.
A wish… Can be fulfilled? What exactly is this?
Seeing Tsukikage Lily’s unnatural pause, a smirk appeared among the sands before continuing to speak.
“I can fulfill any wish for you; however, the price you must pay is only one.”
— On their way to the coffee shop —
It was very heartening to make up with her friend, Erika, and teach that pest, Timons, who always got in their way. It was very heartening to prepare to muster courage to deepen their bond over the weekend. However, it was not so heartening to hear that the manager had been inexplicably beaten by Timons!
“Wuki said there was nothing serious, but I still worry…”
“Well, since that guy’s mood brightens whenever he sees us beautiful ladies, there’s no other choice. Let me satisfy his whims!”
“Erika is as confident as ever, huhahaha…”
The two girls were carrying gifts of consolation. Lei picked out carnations from her family flower shop, though initially surprised and questioned by her parents, and then eagerly helped pick out what would later be given to the patient.
As for Erika, she prepared fashion-forward men’s clothing meticulously tailored after gauging his measurements. She had long wanted Ash, with his old-fashioned sense of style, to try different outfits.
“Whoosh… Whoosh…”
While the girls chatted happily on their way, they suddenly heard a rustling sound nearby. They turned their heads and saw a heap of white sand behind them lying on the ground.
“Why is there sand here… Eh? Eh? Eh!”
Curious Lei suddenly witnessed a scene shocking enough to cause her eyes to bulge out. This patch of sand floated up and stacked itself, forming into a bizarre humanoid figure upside down, enough to bewilder even Newton.
“Wow! Wow— Wowahhh!”
Lei, never having seen such absurdity, sat down abruptly, dropping the bag she was holding. Cifrey, sleeping inside, woke up in protest due to the impact.
“What’s wrong, Lei? It’s very noisy… Woah! Wooooo!”
Directly facing this weird figure, Cifrey screamed just like Lei did.
“Cifrey, what is this? Is it a new monster created by the Desert Apostle?!”
“Don’t ask me, I don’t know what this thing is… argh!”
With fear-stricken faces reflecting their partners’, Cifrey and Lei stared at the grotesque “sand sculpture.” As the creature approached, paralyzed with fear, a blue figure, holding a Perfume Bottle of the Heart, appeared before them.
“What do you want to do to Lei!”
“Hehehe~”
The creature laughed oddly, making goosebumps rise along their spines. Just as the girls were about to transform, it spoke, capturing their attention.
“I am a Yoma Demon.”
“State your wish; I can fulfill any wish for you.”
“A wish?” Erika’s fingers froze mid-motion as she prepared to spray from the perfume bottle. Undoubtedly, the creature’s words intrigued her.
“Anything… Really?”
Even Lei, struggling to stand up, widened her eyes. After all, the creature’s words were shocking and enticing.
“That’s right, anything, and the only price would be—”
“Cheast!!!”
Just as they were intently listening, a yellow figure descended from above, striking the sand creature with a downward chop, turning it back into sand that splattered on them.
“Pfft… Who are you… Wuki?”
“Ah, Wuki, it’s great you’re here… Wuki?”
Seeing familiar figures, the two looked astonished as their expressions froze upon understanding the situation.
This person, who resolved the issue using a martial arts chop, could undoubtedly be none other than Wuki. But for some reason, her hair was braided into a bun, her expression seemingly forced, and she wore traditional samurai-style clothes.
“What is this? Did Wuki just come from a period drama set?”
Upon hearing Erika’s words, “Wuki” tilted her chin sharply, producing a crisp “click.” Such rough actions were unlike Wuki, even considering her martial background.
“The Yoma Demon has been defeated, young ladies needn’t worry.”
“W…What happened to Wuki? Her voice sounds strange. Could she be sick?”
Facing the sudden abnormal Wuki, Lei plucked up the courage to question her.
“There’s absolutely no problem. You’d better cry in awe of my strength! Haha!”
Utterly unintelligible. Wuki must have eaten something bad!
“Wuki, you—”
Before Erika could say more, under Lei’s watchful eye, a blue sphere entered her friend’s body, leaving Erika suspended like a disconnected computer.
“Erika! Erika!”
“Yes, what is it, Miss Sakura-like?”
Before Lei could voice her concern, Erika’s revived response came, her voice now carrying an unfamiliar sophistication. Sea-blue hair stood up slightly from her forehead, and a slender pair of glasses perched on her nose.
“Hold on, it’s Erika, or is it?”
Wide-eyed, Lei watched her suddenly transformed acquaintance fall back several steps.
“Of course, even casting bait into the boundless sea, its deep blue remains unchanged.”
No, this intellectual blue beauty with a magnetic tone, who is she? Where’s Erika, and what have you done to Erika?
“But—but the blue sphere from earlier changed Erika into something odd like Wuki!”
Lei’s incoherent description was interrupted when Erika narrowed her eyes, approaching with a sly fox-like look. The tension made Lei speechless.
“Behind every word, thousand hidden needles, towering lies and massive deception… If you’re okay with the lies…”
Erika, smiling with sophistication, gently raised Lei’s face, which she had lowered due to discomfort.
“Then take the bait.”
“Awaaaah!”
Reacting involuntarily, Lei punched Erika’s glasses, grabbing hold of the stunned Cifrey, and bolting away from the toppled “friend.” Screaming, she instinctively headed towards the coffee shop.
What on earth is happening? Is the沙漠使徒 (Desert Apostle) adopting a new method of attack? Or are they extraterrestrials, or ghostly spirits possessing them, turning them into this state? No!
In her panic, Lei held onto her partner, hoping to find a lifeline, she was delighted to spot Ash searching the street.
Thank heavens! This is just the chance we needed! The manager must have a solution!
“Manager!”
“Manager!”
“Manager!”
