Chapter 362: Dark Demon’s Prophecy Guidance (4k)
“Who could still be knocking on the door at this hour?”
Dark slightly diverted his attention, but his hands did not stop their work.
Whoever was at the door, he would have them wait outside for now.
He silenced the distractions and continued his alchemical refinement.
The engraving of the first alchemical array needed to be completed in one fluid motion, without interruption.
Moreover, the array required for this refinement was quite large, making the process even more challenging.
It took nearly a minute for him to complete the engraving.
The half-meter diameter alchemical array covered half of the experimental table.
Dark finished with the final stroke and finally lifted his hand, letting out a slight sigh of relief.
At that moment, the knocking persisted.
Dark turned his head and saw Eevee already standing at the door, clearly waiting for his instructions.
“Open the door.”
He nodded slightly towards Eevee.
“Miyoh—”
Eevee turned around, extended its ribbon antenna, and twisted the doorknob.
As a cold breeze blew in, voices were heard from outside.
A pink-haired head cautiously peeked inside.
Eevee’s face immediately filled with hostility!
Even with a furrowed brow, it remained adorable.
Eudora noticed it had opened the door and whispered, “T-thank you, good evening.”
“Miyoh.”
Eevee responded and then turned, walking back inside with an elegant gait.
“Can I come in?”
Eudora peered inside, saw no objections, slipped through the door, and closed it behind her.
She walked carefully into the entrance hall, her expression somewhat nervous.
When she saw Dark at the experimental table, she mustered the courage to say, “G-good evening.”
“Good evening,” Dark replied, turning his head. “Is there anything you need?”
Eudora lowered her head and said to Dark, “N-nothing much. Tonight, under Professor Metia’s guidance, I made a prophecy.”
“A prophecy?” Dark paused, puzzled. “Didn’t Professor Metia tell you not to make random prophecies?”
Eudora quickly added, “Not that kind of prophecy.”
Then her face flushed red, feeling inexplicably pleased, and whispered, “I prophesied that you and Saturn are compatible tonight.”
Dark was surprised, “Saturn?”
Eudora softly replied, “Yes, if there were any choices to make, Saturn would be the choice.”
Dark’s mind raced, and he shifted his gaze to the gradually shining First Alchemical Array: “Is this a reminder to use ‘Greed’?”
Eudora stretched her neck and finally spotted the magical card and the alchemical array on the experimental table. She hurriedly covered her mouth, “Are you doing a magical experiment? Then I… won’t disturb you.”
With that, she turned to leave.
“Hold on.”
Dark called her back, revealing a clear smile, “Thank you.”
“Huh?”
Eudora was clearly startled by this sudden gratitude.
Dark waved and smiled, “Good night.”
Eudora raised her hand and waved slightly, “Good night!”
…
After leaving Dark’s dorm, Eudora leaned against the door, holding her chest.
“This helped him, right? Definitely helped!”
In her joy, she ran back to her dorm.
…
Meanwhile, in Room 201, Dark had refocused his thoughts and resumed the experiment.
Of course, he wouldn’t use “Greed” just because Eudora mentioned it.
But after careful consideration, he remembered that the Solo Sword Sheath seemed to have the nature of feeding on life energy when attached to humans. Thus, “Greed” might be more suitable than “Pride.”
He checked his reserves.
“Greed has 3.5…”
He originally planned to accumulate “Greed” this month and refine a “Greed III.” So, he chose to extract “Greed” on the first and second days of March. Now, he had some reserves by accident.
“Regardless, let’s start!”
Thinking more wouldn’t help; only the alchemical refinement could show the results.
Dark began preparing.
First, he extracted “Greed” from the Worm Branch, returned to the experimental table, and fully activated the First Alchemical Array.
Next, he began extracting the “Holy Sword” from the prepared solution, which had been soaking for half an hour.
As the primary core of this refinement, the processing of the “Holy Sword” was crucial.
Although it was just one of countless “Holy Swords” throughout history, refining it was still difficult.
Dark thought for a moment and temporarily placed it aside, adding other auxiliary materials like “Saliva.”
As the light from the First Alchemical Array flowed like liquid, he picked up another secondary core—”Shield Tortoise Jade.”
This deep purple gem, after being “downgraded,” had completely internalized its glow, resembling a plain marble.
But its true power was deeply contained within.
“From here, there’s no turning back.”
Taking a deep breath, Dark placed the “Shield Tortoise Jade” into the alchemical array.
Then he picked up the Magic Pen and gently stirred it within the array’s light.
As mana continuously flowed in, the “Shield Tortoise Jade” gradually decomposed and absorbed.
After confirming the complete fusion of the “Shield Tortoise Jade,” Dark picked up the “Holy Sword”!
“Deoxys.”
“I’m here.”
Deoxys jumped down from the cat tree, landing silently without a sound.
It quickly approached the experimental table, picked up the bottle of “Elemental Wine” with its paw, and unscrewed the cap after giving it a slight shake.
Immediately, a faint fruity aroma wafted from the bottle.
Deoxys couldn’t resist sniffing, its face flushing slightly.
This “Elemental Wine” could indeed rapidly restore mana, but its potency was high.
This made it feel a bit worried.
But Dark had already placed the “Holy Sword” into the light array emitted by the First Alchemical Array.
When the sword tip touched the light array, ripples spread like water.
He held the sword with one hand and the Magic Pen with the other, injecting mana while slowly submerging the “Holy Sword” into the light array.
Minutes later, the hilt of the “Holy Sword” also vanished into the light array.
But at this point, the fusion had just begun!
Dark switched the Magic Pen from his left hand to his right, increasing the amount of mana infused.
The light array of the First Alchemical Array flickered frequently, sometimes strong, sometimes weak.
Whenever the light was too intense, he reduced the mana; whenever it was too weak, he increased it.
After just three minutes, he felt a lack of mana.
But as his expression changed, Deoxys brought the “Elemental Wine” in front of him—a straw was inserted into the bottle, showing thorough preparation.
Dark immediately bit the straw and drank some wine.
The wine tasted slightly sweet and sour, similar to apple juice but lighter, surprisingly without the strong alcohol flavor.
Instead, it had a mild sensation flowing through his limbs.
Mana, which was slightly lacking, suddenly began to recover.
But as the mana recovered, a dizzying sensation akin to drinking strong liquor suddenly struck!
“I’m drunk!”
Dark snapped awake.
He immediately widened his eyes to stay alert.
The chaotic mana quickly stabilized again.
Then came the second sip, the third sip…
Every time his mana dropped below half, he would take a sip of “Elemental Wine.”
After an hour, half the bottle was gone.
Dark’s face was already flushed.
He concentrated intensely, suppressing the intoxication deep within his cerebral cortex.
He had no time to think until he confirmed, through mana perception, that the “Holy Sword” was completely fused.
Only then did he relax slightly.
But just as his mind relaxed, the intoxication suddenly surged upward!
The aftereffects of the “Elemental Wine” almost overwhelmed his consciousness.
Almost simultaneously, a translucent figure with an outline suddenly burst out from the light array of the First Alchemical Array!
“Hah!”
This sudden shock instantly pulled his consciousness, which was submerged in drunkenness, back.
He immediately realized this must be the “soul consciousness” within the “Holy Sword”—the “sword spirit.”
Though it appeared incomplete, it seemed more like a “malevolent spirit.”
The blurry human silhouette abruptly spread its arms, lunging at him like a “malevolent spirit.”
Instinctively leaning back,
a green shadow suddenly surged forward, dispersing the “malevolent spirit” instantly!
Dark immediately gathered all his mana, channeling it through the Magic Pen into the alchemical array.
The rapidly spinning light array generated suction, pulling back the scattered “malevolent spirit.”
Dark grabbed the “Elemental Wine” bottle and took another sip.
Then he continued pouring mana.
After another fifteen minutes, he regained his composure.
After such a long period of fusion, the light array emitted by the First Alchemical Array stabilized.
Dark used the Mana Dropper to draw 1 point of “Greed” and carefully dripped it into the reaction.
The white light from the alchemical array brightened noticeably.
But it wasn’t enough yet.
So he continued using the Mana Dropper…
Until he dripped in 3 points of “Greed,” the light from the alchemical array suddenly blazed brightly!
This made him breathe a sigh of relief.
“There’s no more room for error!”
…
As the strong light from the First Alchemical Array quickly converged, the surface experiment appeared calm.
But actually, the fusion within the magical card continued.
However, the subsequent fusion process was beyond Dark’s control.
He sank into silent contemplation, allowing the intoxication to slowly rise.
Through his slightly blurred vision, wisps of white light emerged from the magical card, enveloping it in a light cocoon.
After five minutes, the fluctuations within the cocoon gradually slowed.
Finally, the fluctuations became steady and rhythmic, like a heartbeat.
Dark stretched out his hand, pressing his finger against the cocoon, as per his usual habit, infusing his expectations along with the mana.
But this time, the infusion caused the cocoon to tremble.
Instantly, a blade-like white light pierced through the surface of the cocoon, extending three inches.
Then, the light beam swayed along the cocoon’s midline, slicing it open cleanly!
As the cocoon dissipated into mana particles, the magical card it contained fell onto the table.
All outward light was absorbed into the card, leaving no trace.
Dark looked in surprise at the clean, unblemished magical card, his gaze naturally falling on its face.
It was a “Solo Sword Sheath” vastly different from his imagination!
…
A normal “Solo Sword Sheath” resembles a sword with a brown scabbard adorned with patterns like a ghostly face.
The pommel has a blue eye-like pattern at its center.
The handle is tied with a long blue ribbon, ending in a pale blue color with finger-like splits, which can be used as an arm.
During battle, the blue ribbon wraps around the scabbard, exposing the sword.
…
However, the “Solo Sword Sheath” on the card is a short sword, almost identical in appearance to the “Holy Sword,” though it has a hint of pale purple.
This is entirely different from the glowing “Solo Sword Sheath” in red.
“Is this purple derived from the ‘Shield Tortoise Jade’ and ‘Greed’?”
Dark pondered, continuing to examine.
Apart from the changes in the sword’s shape and the scabbard’s color, the design of the scabbard became more intricate, with hollowed-out patterns resembling the flower “Red Spider Lily” instead of a ghostly face.
The eye-like pattern at the center of the pommel was closer to a blue-violet, but it was significantly longer and not circular.
As for the ribbon at the end of the handle, which can serve as an arm, it matched the scabbard, being a pale violet white and narrower and longer.
Overall, it looked more refined, like a piece of art.
This made Dark frown.
He didn’t want the “Solo Sword Sheath” to lose its inherent essence.
So, he immediately grabbed the magical card, infused it with mana, and waited for feedback.
Soon, information about the “Solo Sword Sheath” flooded his mind.
—
[Card Name: Solo Sword Sheath]
[Type: Elemental Card]
[Level: ????]
[Race: Undead]
[Attributes: Steel/Phantom]
[Mana: 1500]
[Attack: 2200]
[Defense: 1800]
[Ultimate Skills: Weaponization, Chain Slash, Sword Dance, Holy Sword]
—
“Is this a four-star magical card?”
“The Solo Sword Sheath has two evolutionary forms, I thought it would be a three-star magical elemental.”
“But as a four-star magical elemental, its mana is lower than expected, its defense is decent, and its attack exceeds the top value of four-star magical elements by 200, which aligns with the essence of the ‘Holy Sword.'”
“It has four ultimate skills, making it a gold card.”
“Rather than being expected, it would be a disservice to the ‘Holy Sword’ if it weren’t a gold card.”
“As for the ultimate skills themselves… Weaponization?”
Dark suddenly froze.
