Chapter 362: The Floral Throne
The flowers of April have all withered, yet the peach blossoms at the mountain temple begin to bloom.
The young lady gazed at the scenery in the forest, and unconsciously recalled the verse from her previous life. Within the Fortress Academy, near the northern mountain range, the mountains undulated in layers, with many secluded and tranquil areas seldom visited by people, and this was one such place.
In the valley, wild cherry blossoms were in full bloom, with each flower having five petals, fine and long white stamens in the center, and pistils at the tips. These small white and pink flowers clustered together on the branches, adorning the entire valley, while the path that had been temporarily cleared was also covered with fallen petals, creating a light pink floral world.
Yan Liuyan walked slowly down the path, observing the two rows of members standing straight on either side, and his heart was gradually filled with awe. Although there were many excellent students of Sequence 6 within the school, most were seniors nearing graduation. Furthermore, one’s temperament and strength are related; such young geniuses of Sequence 6 would naturally command respect wherever they went, making it difficult for them to completely believe in someone else’s abilities.
However, the boys and girls on both sides of the path were dressed in exquisite red and deep green formal attire, their faces solemn and serious. Upon closer inspection, not a single one of them was of Sequence 5; they were all of Sequence 6! With nearly 100 members in these two rows, when did Emanas start producing such outstanding students in batches?
As Yan Liuyan continued to observe, he noticed a detail: each student wore two badges side by side on their chest. One badge had various colors and shapes, while the other was a uniform black lotus flower.
Finally, his steps halted at the end of the path, before the floral throne.
Pomegranate red, rose red, camellia red, and cherry red—several large petals of different shades overlapped, longer in the middle and shorter on the sides, forming a floral throne that exuded a fantastical and luxurious style.
“We have arrived,” Ku Ye, who was guarding Yan Liuyan, said beside him, instructing two members to watch over him before joining the ranks on either side, standing alongside the students.
On both sides of the students, one group wore red formal attire, with a unified red rose badge and black lotus badge, creating a harmonious and consistent beauty.
Yan Liuyan recognized these faces as former members of the “True Red Rose,” still the elite remnants of the club. Many members came from the High Nobility, with affluent backgrounds and solid foundations. Historically, the Fortress Academy’s strongest club, even after being infiltrated and absorbed by the “Black Veil,” still maintained considerable combat power.
Among the foremost six were the elites of the “True Red Rose.” Though they were not the highest-ranking officials, they possessed extraordinary strength.
He hadn’t expected them to also submit to that unknown adult. Who could that person be? Edren? No, it couldn’t be. Princess Evelyn? Incorrect, the princess wouldn’t get involved in internal conflicts within the academy. Then who could it be? Could it be another new legend?
While Yan Liuyan was lost in thought, faint yellow fireflies appeared and danced in the forest, then gathered at the center of the throne. As the points of light converged, a human figure gradually took shape in the throne.
First, the delicate and exquisite feet could be seen, wearing pure white knee-high socks paired with light-colored shoes, the tip of which bore a blooming white flower. Following the line of sight upward, the intricate pleated red skirt was revealed, with layers of red from the bottom pure white, light pink, pink, cherry red, and pomegranate red. The skirt was adorned with silk roses made of fabric.
Next were the hands resting on the knees, fair and flawless, with slender wrists suggesting the owner was young. Then followed the smooth black hair and graceful waistline, with the main body of the dress showing a pink-decorated white design.
Finally, the face of the young lady emerged slowly amidst the myriad points of light, revealing a snow-white neck, cherry lips, a flawless appearance, and eyes like black crystal, gentle and clear.
This breathtaking scene left many of the “Black Veil” members being escorted into submission, especially those transparent eyes, soft and pure, devoid of any deceit or lies, as if the purest sincerity in the world touched the deepest part of their hearts, causing them to willingly sink and rest.
“You are…” Yan Liuyan had never met Lolan Hill; she had only entered the Fortress Academy this year, and he wasn’t present that night either.
“You can call me Lolan,” the young lady replied, placing her hands on the armrests.
“Respected Lolan, why do you reject our ideals and actions?” Yan Liuyan expressed his confusion.
“Hold your tongue. With actions like yours, you don’t deserve to discuss ideals with Lolan. Compared to your forced recruitment and deception, what’s the difference?”
A member in a red uniform stepped forward from the side, first giving a brief salute to Lolan Hill, then turning to criticize the actions of the “Black Veil.”
“But I have indeed improved my strength because of this,” Yan Liuyan responded frankly.
“Do you know the price? The sudden bestowal of power always comes with some meaning and a cost.”
“Cost? Perhaps. But tangible strength brings many things, like confidence, courage, even greatness,” Yan Liuyan replied indifferently.
At this moment, Lolan Hill finally spoke again from the floral throne: “Although everyone has the freedom to choose, do you truly understand the origins of the power seeds bestowed by the ‘Black Veil’?”
“Even if it turns me into a mindless zombie, would you still be willing?” The young lady’s voice was calm and clear, compelling Yan Liuyan to ponder deeply. However, he was currently influenced by the effects of the power seed and, after some thought, remained unchanged in his thoughts.
Then, Lolan Hill asked several more questions. After Yan Liuyan answered, she gradually understood how Ausuna had achieved her current situation.
Firstly, she utilized her plague talent to quickly spread the difficult-to-produce power seeds among the masses and students, then concealed her hidden powers to make the acquisition of power seeds seem reasonable and justifiable.
Thus, the “Black Veil” members never doubted what they believed in and would spontaneously convince themselves. Without suspicion and speculation, everything became accepted, leaving no room for opposition.
No wonder she could arbitrate everything within the club.
I can’t hold on anymore, I’ve only slept for 4 hours since yesterday, so sleepy~
