Chapter 345: Flowing Clouds at the Horizon
Above the Black Church, Osuna sat on the throne, listening to the reports from below about the recent expansion in Emanas. They had now mapped and controlled the whereabouts of most of the teachers in the academy.
As long as they avoided the teachers’ line of sight and refrained from overly aggressive actions in front of them, these teachers would ‘ignore’ many of their actions. The remaining obstacle was the violent organization among the students of Emanas, led by the Order Department under the banner of “Crown of Justice.”
This semi-official student organization had always been the campus constables, maintaining order within the school. Their equipment was luxurious; each member had standard gold-grade armor and weapons, even electric white kites capable of rapid flight. A small number of elites possessed pearl-grade weapons, making them an important force in Emanas. Although the school had never faced any real threats since its establishment, this force was always ready to maintain order and protect the school.
“Recently, many people have started complaining to the Order Department, accusing us of violating school rules. What do you think should be done about it?” A member of the Demon Sequence 6 stood respectfully to one side, dressed in exquisite formal attire, much like a butler or steward in a noble household. This was precisely what Osuna liked.
“That,”
Before Osuna could respond, a deep voice suddenly echoed from below the church. Some people heard it and began entering the underground passages. But soon, someone reported that the underground passages were blocked by stone walls. Members of the aware club started gathering people to break through the blockade, while others stood ready.
Osuna no longer had the desire to continue speaking. She casually looked around, though she couldn’t immediately sense what was happening underground, she knew someone must be causing trouble.
Ha, just some insignificant pests.
Nowadays, she wasn’t what she once was. With the support of most of the students at Fortress Academy, no other club could surpass her in either numbers or strength. Moreover, there were allies she didn’t know about in the Northern High Tower, doing the same things. When both sides joined forces, they could easily swallow up the entire academy.
Just as the black-robed members opened the passage, a few growing vines suddenly sprouted in a clearing outside the church. Then, the soil crumbled, and a teenage girl in a black dress emerged from the ground, soaring back into the air.
Just as she was about to leave, four elite Sequence 6 members guarding the entrance discovered her and charged directly at her.
The thorny spear full of spikes pierced through the night sky, directly piercing the butterfly wings of the girl, causing her to momentarily pause. Then came a crescent-shaped red moon slicing through the sky, forcing the girl to block with her floral longsword, causing her to change direction mid-air.
But the events hadn’t ended. A shadow flashed behind the girl, a sharp short sword plunging straight toward her chest. Due to the angle, although Lolan Hill had sensed the attack, she had no good way to defend herself instantly, so she slightly adjusted her body, hoping not to be hit in her vital heart.
At this critical moment, Bumansa’s support finally arrived. The long sword that cut through everything sliced through the short sword, and Lolan Hill took the opportunity to escape the assassin knight’s attack range.
Her emerald butterfly wings reappeared, and the two of them resisted the four attackers in the air. Bumansa then swiftly swung her long sword, the cold silver blade light like blooming lotuses, enveloping the two of them and shattering all their weapons. Although currently only at Sequence 5, Bumansa had already approached the power of Sequence 7, and with her special talent ability, she could even kill the four attackers outright, but for now, she didn’t want to go that far.
The battle outside the church quickly caught the attention of internal members, and one after another, members with crimson wings flew out from various windows of the church. They were mostly students of the Demon Sequence, with most being Sequence 5 and a few being elite Sequence 6.
Osuna also appeared in the night sky above the church.
Behind her were purple-red wings, and around her were nearly twenty Sequence 6 members, watching the two girls on the opposite side with great interest.
“It’s our two champion ladies, how rare,”
“Could it be that you’re also infatuated with my potions and power? It’s an honor, but why don’t you ask for it openly? Actually, I’m quite generous, hehehe.” She sneered.
“If you kneel before me and kiss my toes, I might even bestow something upon you.”
Osuna’s proud and wild laughter echoed in the air, and then she waved her hand, over two hundred members with crimson wings rushed through the night sky towards the two in the air.
“This is incredible,” Lolan Hill’s hair turned blue at this moment. She and Bumansa stood hand in hand in the air, looking at the approaching crowd.
“Hold onto my hand, Bumansa,” the girl’s eyes seemed to flash with some symbol. Her companion, though confused, instinctively tightened her grip on her wrist.
Then, Lolan Hill pressed down with her raised right hand, and the wandering wind and atmosphere seemed to freeze. The crowd’s flight speed immediately slowed, and some even began to fall.
“Sorry, the sky is my domain.”
—
Fortress Academy, Black Swan Castle.
Keti and Lily stood on the high platform of the castle, looking southward. In the dark night, the dense forest was illuminated by a deep blue lake reflecting the moonlight with ripples. On the castle walls, candles flickered in the windows, casting warm yellow lights, creating an overall warm and beautiful scene.
Further away was a dense forest, barely visible in the moonlight except for vague outlines, the rest being pitch-black and silent.
At this moment, it seemed as if the sun was rising in the south, with the southern sky showing a pale white like fish bellies, and fiery clouds sweeping across the horizon.
“It’s Lolan, Lolan is setting fires over there!” Keti pointed excitedly at the distant flames to Lily.
“Can you see that from so far away? Besides, isn’t Lolan part of the Demon Sequence? How did she suddenly become proficient in fire?” Lily was puzzled.
“Because I can feel the flames.” As Keti spoke, she extended her right hand, her pale wrist reaching into the night breeze.
“And I can make the flames bigger.” As her words fell, faint flames appeared in Keti’s pupils, as if mirroring the distant scene.
Lolan Hill and Bumansa flew in the air. With a wave of her hand, orange-red flames formed in the sky, like a long river waterfall, sweeping down to engulf the enemies in the air. Although there were also members skilled in flight and fire among the Sequence 6 opponents, this battle was entirely different.
Once light and easy air beneath their wings now felt like thick glue, making it hard to use for flying. And the area-of-effect flames, theoretically, shouldn’t be too strong, yet the surging waves of fire were difficult even for students skilled in manipulating fire to withstand. The burning pain and the smell of burnt flesh spread throughout the sky. If Lolan Hill hadn’t stopped in time, these students would have been roasted alive.
When did my flames become so powerful? The girl shook her head, temporarily putting aside the abnormal situation, and pulled Bumansa upward, turning to leave.
On the ground, Osuna was furious, stomping her feet and crushing the black chess pieces in her hand.
“Damn it!”
