Chapter 340

Chapter 340. You’re Miiiiine!!!

A moment later.

<Event>

<Self-destruct halted and ship hijack successful!>

<Details>

<The Ouroboros-class's self-destruct attempt was thwarted, and the ship has been successfully acquired!>

<Result>

<1 Ouroboros-class Siege Battleship obtained>

“Kyaaaaaaaah.”

“Kieeeeeeeek!!!”

“Wow, the Commander’s going wild again.”

With Arcadia’s help, we successfully took over the engine room.

As the damn self-destruct event was deactivated, I finally saw that big, beautiful Ouroboros come into my embrace.

Of course, right after that, some enemy ships that survived Arcadia’s fleet regrouped around their last battleship and formed ranks again.

“Commander, enemy ships are gathering ahead and advancing!”

“Oh.”

They charged fiercely toward us, trying to reclaim their precious Ouroboros-class…

“Is the Ouroboros fully operational now?”

“Yes, we didn’t tamper with the ship’s core functions during the takeover.”

“Great, since we’ve got a new ship, let’s start using it right away.”

“Understood.”

No way.

Now that we’ve successfully seized the Ouroboros-class, they’re charging at us in a tight formation.

This feels like the devs are giving us a chance to experience the Ouroboros-class’s focused cannon fire… right?

‘Thinking about it, that’s actually pretty likely…’

From way back, whenever players got a completely new ship, like a special ship…

The devs would set up an event-style battle to naturally show players “how to use it.”

‘Huh, so this is how we’re starting the first cannon activation and leveling.’

With that thought, I immediately ordered the Ouroboros to fire its ‘flamethrower’ at the enemy fleet.

“Ouroboros, commence attack on the enemy fleet ahead.”

-“Understood, Commander!”

Right after my command…

A series of complex firing procedures were carried out from the Ouroboros’ bridge.

-“Focused mode, maximum output fire!!!”

With the bridge crew’s bold declaration, the Ouroboros began to surge with massive energy from its elongated cannon barrels.

Then, multiple glowing blue halos formed and overlapped at the front of the ship, spinning rapidly.

Soon, a massive amount of plasma—or some kind of energy—burst from the barrels, compressing and compressing further within the halos.

When the energy became so concentrated that it glowed blindingly white, the halos released.

The immense energy surged forward with a brilliant flash, rushing toward the enemy fleet…

And when our glorious energy torrent engulfed the enemy fleet…

-KWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

All ships except the battleships and heavy cruisers were annihilated in seconds, just like our fleet had been.

To be precise, they couldn’t withstand the torrent’s overwhelming force and were torn apart before their hulls could even melt.

The heavy cruisers lasted about 5 seconds before their bows began to melt like ice cream on a summer day, eventually exploding.

As for the battleship, it lived up to its name for a bit.

With the toughest armor among standard ships, it held out for over 10 seconds… but only for a moment.

Its bridge, external structures, and cannon barrels started melting like taffy.

When the red-hot front armor finally melted, the ammunition and energy batteries inside couldn’t take the heat and exploded one after another.

Soon, a massive explosion tore the battleship apart.

Of course, the explosion and debris were swept away by the Ouroboros’ energy torrent, flung far into the depths of space.

And as I watched the Ouroboros’ ridiculously awesome maximum-output focused cannon fire in real-time…

*clap clap clap clap clap!*

“What a glorious sight.”

“Commander, you kinda look like a dictator right now, no offense.”

“Quiet, Jessica.”

A bit like a seal clapping excitedly at an ICBM launch, I couldn’t help but imagine how much this would help in future battles.

The mere existence of this thing made me giddy, thinking about how much “assistance” it would provide in future base raids and fleet battles.

And of course, I made sure to send a big thank you to our dear Arcadia for making this joy possible.

**[Event Chat]**

-[You]

-[Thanks to you, I got to enjoy this!]

-[Seriously, thank you!!!] (Icarus)

-[No problem.]

-[If anything, it’s thanks to your hard work, Icarus.] (Arcadia)

‘She’s… a saint!’

Even in the midst of all this, she doesn’t boast or act high and mighty.

She doesn’t even claim any credit for the Ouroboros-class, just like she said.

Seeing Arcadia like this, just like during the Ancient Empire event, I could feel my affection for her skyrocketing exponentially.

**[Event Chat]**

-[LOL]

-[If you were here, I might’ve just hugged you on the spot.] (Icarus)

-[Oh, okay.] (Arcadia)

-[No, not in a creepy way!]

-[I’m just so grateful, you know?]

-[For real, no cap.] (Icarus)

Of course, after I blurted that out in the chat, it took a whole 10 minutes for Arcadia to reply with a short answer.

Panicking, I quickly spammed the chat with excuses, trying to cover up my awkwardness.

Meanwhile, while Icarus was freaking out…

The reason Arcadia took 10 minutes to reply was because…

“Huuuuh, huuuuuh.”

“Commander.”

“What do I do, what do I do? Icarus said they want to hug and tackle me!”

“I don’t think that’s what they meant…”

“How many kids should we have? Hooow many…?”

“I think our Commander’s lost it.”

“Yeah, seems like it.”

After reading Icarus’s chat, Arcadia’s brain immediately went into overdrive.

With a tingling sensation in her lower abdomen, she started fantasizing about a 100-year marriage and having like 50 kids.

Of course, Icarus had no way of knowing this.

After 10 minutes, Arcadia finally snapped out of it and tried to bury the whole thing as a dark chapter.

The only ones who knew about this were Arcadia’s adjutant and some random superhuman at the base command center.

Anyway, after hastily apologizing to Arcadia-sama…

We went into full-on cleanup mode, wiping out even the small ships that had escaped the initial barrage.

**[‘Clash of the Fleets’ Round 5 Battle Results]**
