Episode 34. This crappy game shouldn’t let users fight each other.
When a noob asked such a naive question, even though we’re stuck in a PVP game world where rewards are given based on rankings.
Why do the veterans keep shouting “noob stomping” and singing the alliance clan song every day?
The rotten oil, unable to hold back, started spamming explanation posts that practically flooded the gallery.
Of course, most of the explanation posts weren’t much different from what I had been repeating before.
But even so, there was a reason why I was so drawn to those posts…

Title: Noob who asked why PVP is bad, listen up.

In this game’s system, PVP is just straight-up inefficient.
To put it bluntly, it’s high risk, low return.
Just look at the result screen in the screenshot I posted, where a veteran stomped a noob’s fleet.
Even though the veteran completely outplayed the noob’s terrible fleet management,
Half of the veteran’s fleet was wiped out.
Looking at the numbers, two-thirds of the fleet was gone.
In that case, the veteran did manage to capture the noob’s SSS-Class Cruiser through boarding combat,
But that was only because of the qualitative difference between the veteran and the noob, where the veteran brute-forced through the noob’s defenses.
But now, if two users with similar skills and fleets fight?
At best, you’ll only get back what you lost in the fight.

– [Agreed]
– [Can you write properly? It’s hard to read.]
– [Where’s the TL;DR?]
– [It’s not high risk, low return—it’s high risk, NO return.]
– [What does this even mean?]

Title: Let me summarize that explanation simply.

Content: If you have a fleet of 10, and the enemy also has 10,
Even if you win and absorb the enemy’s fleet,
You won’t end up with more than the original 10 you had.
Comments:
– [???]
– [Wait, if you capture ships through boarding combat, shouldn’t your fleet grow? Why doesn’t it work like that?]
– [Because… it’s fun.]
– [While you’re deploying superhumans to capture enemy ships, the enemy fleet isn’t just sitting around doing nothing.]
– [True, sometimes you try to capture ships and end up getting counter-captured, leading to a siege battle.]

Title: A story about boarding combat that noobs don’t know.txt

You might not have seen it yet, but in the late game, large ships like battleships start popping up everywhere.
Aircraft carriers, super dreadnoughts, you name it.
But of course, the bigger the ship, the longer it takes to capture through boarding combat.
So, when an enemy user sends their superhumans to capture a large ship,
You immediately deploy your own superhumans, one per ship, and take control in an instant.
Then, after stealing the fleet, you self-destruct the battleship, wiping out all the enemy superhumans. LOL.
Comments:
– [Ah, that guy LOL]
– [What was it? If you use one SS-Class Battleship to take out five SSS-Class Superhumans, it’s a huge win, right?]
– [But later, it turned out that even an S-Class Battleship was considered equal to one SSS-Class Superhuman, so the guy ended up screwing himself over, didn’t he?]
– [Yep.]

At this point, the things mentioned in the flood of posts from veterans…
They were all using the battles I had with that guy whose name I can’t even remember as examples.
“Look, Commander, everyone’s talking about you!”
“Hmm, I guess so.”
Meanwhile, Jessica, who was browsing the community with me, was wagging her rabbit ears like it was her own achievement, genuinely happy.
But unlike Jessica, I didn’t feel particularly happy reading those community posts…
I couldn’t feel any emotions.
“Jessica, this isn’t exactly a good thing, is it?”
“Is Commander’s story still going on?”
At my words, Jessica, with her big rabbit ears twitching, turned her head as if asking what I meant.
She opened her eyes wide, showing a genuinely puzzled reaction.
“If Commander becomes famous and their ranking rises, that would be my happiness!”
“…”
Seeing Jessica puff out her chest with both hands on her waist, I stayed silent for a moment.
Then, pressing my finger against her forehead, I shook my head and said,
“Being famous is one thing, but what’s the point if nicknames and everything else are hidden?”
“Nuuuuh.”
“And this isn’t fame; it’s just attracting PK-crazed lunatics like pheromones.”
“Ah…!”
Back then, the person I defeated flooded the gallery with posts, causing chaos.
Thanks to the gallery moderator ‘Wanjang’ deleting those posts page by page, I managed to avoid becoming a magnet for PK fanatics.
Anyway, as I continued browsing the gallery,
I noticed that the PVP explanations, which were previously from regular veterans, now included acknowledgments from PK-obsessed PVP experts.

Title: I’m a PVP expert, and newbies shouldn’t do PVP
Author: Alexander the Great

We’ve been crazy about PVP from the start, so we set up our fleets specifically for PVP, not the usual setups.
We minimize risks in high-risk, low-return situations while thoroughly leveling up characters and ships.
Most newbies struggle even against pirates or the upcoming space monsters.
If they can barely handle pirates, how can they do PVP?
Moreover, PVP tends to be treated like a duel, where one side takes significant losses to attack.
As others have pointed out, even if you win, the gains might not outweigh the initial weakening.
And in such a weakened state, villains or other players won’t just leave you alone.
Comments:
– [True]
– [This game is weird; it feels like it forces PVP, but when you do it, it’s a mess]
– [I also noticed; while it seems to push PVP, PVE is still crucial]
– [This is so true;;]
– [Why can’t we upvote comments?]

Reading those posts, I found myself nodding along with the comments.
Honestly, even though the game has changed a lot since we got involved in this update,
it doesn’t feel like the old meta has shifted at all.
After reading through the gallery posts venting about the current situation, I decided there was no need to read further.
I closed the community window.
“Commander, I just finished dealing with the pirates heading to the base.”
“Oh, really?”

With the event message popping up at the right time, I nodded and decided to collect the rewards first.
‘I hope there’s a break like this for a while.’
