Chapter 32: The Teacher is Awesome

Chapter 32: The Teacher is Awesome

On the boundless sea.

Just as Krul had anticipated, the human fleet chose the southern route, riding the winds and the waves.

Thousands of human warships sailed along the line, their sails full and proud.

They emanated an unstoppable force, causing seagulls in the sky and fish in the depths to avoid them at all costs.

In truth, the human army did not consist of merely a hundred thousand troops.

The hundred thousand were just the ground forces; in addition, there were thirty thousand navy troops escorting this massive army.

In total, the human fleet comprised one hundred thirty thousand.

On the human warships, armor-clad human soldiers stood shoulder to shoulder.

For most people, sailing on the ocean was a wonderfully novel experience.

Especially since they were about to conquer the former rulers of this world—the Elven Race—everyone’s hearts soared with ambitions!

On the flagship, the Lion.

A red battle flag depicting a golden lion fluttered majestically from the mast.

The golden lion bared its fangs and claws, as if ready to pounce on its next meal at any moment.

Below, human Emperor Alexander donned his magnificent armor and a blood-red battle cloak, standing proudly at the bow with the surrounding soldiers, gazing into the endless ocean, his heart ablaze with grandeur.

Although he was already fifty-five years old, as a warrior who had reached the hero level, he appeared to be in his prime.

Behind him stood an elderly man in a white robe.

Though he looked quite frail, a spark of wisdom shone brightly in his eyes, showcasing his uniqueness.

This extraordinary elder was none other than the only Grand Mage of the human race—Suratu.

Moreover, he held another title.

He was also Alexander’s teacher.

Of course, as a Grand Mage, he couldn’t teach Alexander martial skills.

But an emperor couldn’t solely rely on martial prowess; he needed knowledge in various other fields.

Outside of martial arts, Suratu taught Alexander a wide array of complex topics—everything from astronomy to geography, and even delving into philosophical humanities.

Whenever Alexander encountered something he didn’t understand, he would seek his guidance.

The erudite Grand Mage was usually able to provide answers.

In the years of Alexander’s conquests, he had certainly contributed significantly.

“Your Majesty!”

After accompanying Alexander to admire the sea, Suratu turned to the exuberant Alexander and exclaimed.

“Teacher?”

Alexander turned around, puzzled, looking at his esteemed mentor.

Suratu asked, “Your Majesty, do you still remember what I told you before we decided to embark on this expedition?”

Recalling something, Alexander’s expression suddenly turned serious as he nodded, “I remember!”

Before the expedition, his teacher had warned him that this conquest of the Elven Race was different from battling other races; there was a significant chance of failure.

Though the Elven Race had fallen from grace, no other race dared to underestimate this once-mighty race that once ruled the world.

Yet, Alexander still desired to conquer the Elven Race; he was confident in himself and his people.

Thus, despite his teacher’s warning, he decided to proceed with the naval expedition against the Elven Race.

Suratu nodded lightly and sighed, “It’s good that you remember, Your Majesty. Moving forward, please act with caution.”

The human army had already set sail, and all he could do now was this.

He advised Alexander not to become too proud due to past victories, and to avoid underestimating the Elven Race.

“Rest assured, teacher, I will keep your words firmly in mind.”

Alexander assured him.

Once he spoke, he turned back to gaze ahead, continuing, “Teacher, look at this magnificent ocean. Although this is not my first time seeing it, this is my first expedition across the sea, and I will definitely achieve victory in this war, bringing my inaugural venture to a glorious conclusion.”

As he spoke passionately, Alexander couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

His life had been largely about dealing with wars, whether between humans or against other races.

And this war could very well be his last.

His laughter echoed over the waves, drifting to the other ships.

Hearing his joyful sound, the human soldiers couldn’t help but look over.

Seeing their emperor laughing heartily, smiles broke out across their faces.

Like Alexander, the soldiers of the human race brimmed with great confidence regarding this war.

Though the Elven Race was strong, the humans were far from weak now.

If the Elven Race could once be the world’s hegemon, then the humans who would defeat them next could also claim that title!

In the Elven Royal Palace.

The next morning, Airael rose early.

Mainly because she had slept so comfortably last night, falling asleep almost immediately.

Soft beds were indeed far more enjoyable than the rough makeshift beds in the wild, causing Airael to feel reluctant to get up.

However, lying in bed was simply not an option.

If she were to linger, Hela would undoubtedly have people come and lift her out of bed.

Her daily routine was tightly controlled by Hela.

When Hela and the other elves entered the room, Airael sat properly on the bed, waiting for them to assist with her grooming and dressing.

“Your Majesty, due to your magic instructor, Domiya, having unexpected matters arise, your magic lesson this morning has been changed to self-study.”

During the dressing process, Hela suddenly spoke up.

“What is Teacher Domiya doing?” Airael frowned and asked.

“It seems to be related to the Mage Association, but I’m not quite sure of the details.”

“Alright! Then, could you, Teacher Hela, take over my magic training this morning?” Airael initially felt a bit down, but then looked at Hela with hope.

The magical display Hela had performed that evening had impressed Airael greatly.

Though she didn’t know just how strong Hela was, she knew she couldn’t be weak.

“Your Majesty, I’m afraid I cannot teach you magic,” Hela directly refused.

“Why not? Teacher Hela, you are also a very powerful mage, aren’t you?”

“Your Majesty, you truly overestimate me. In the realm of magic, I am nowhere near the level of Domiya; she is one of the greatest mages in the world.”

“Eh—! Teacher Domiya is that amazing?”

Airael exclaimed in surprise.

While she knew Domiya was strong, she hadn’t expected her to be that formidable.

Suddenly having a teacher who is among the best in the world left Airael at a loss for words to express her feelings.

While having a great teacher was wonderful, it added an extra layer of pressure on Airael.

As the saying goes, a great teacher produces outstanding students; if her magical practice didn’t reach a high level, wouldn’t she embarrass Domiya?
