Chapter 32: Airael’s New Magic
Although it was a bit beyond imagination, he had not forgotten that it was Airael who had cast the spell just now.
So it was very likely that everything was stirred up by Airael.
Mork happened to lock eyes with Airael.
Airael gave Mork a mysterious smile.
Mork felt an immense pressure.
This little episode went unnoticed by others nearby, as they were all captivated by the changes in the celestial phenomena.
As a result, nobody noticed that the Staff of Eternity in Airael’s hand had been exchanged for another.
Including Mork, who had just looked at Airael, his attention was fully on her, completely ignoring the staff in her hand.
Seeing that Mork didn’t seem to recognize the Staff of Eternity, Airael breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, this was her first time using the Staff of Eternity after advancing to the hero tier.
The feeling was vastly different from before.
Firstly, her control over magic had definitely improved significantly; secondly, she had acquired a spell from the Staff of Eternity—an exceedingly powerful one.
Combining it with the previous magic she had learned from the staff, Airael realized that the Staff of Eternity was more than just a mere staff; it was a treasure waiting for her to dig out step by step.
It made sense, after all; it was a sacred artifact of the Elven Race. Had it only been a powerful staff, it would have been somewhat too trivial.
Thinking of the magic she had just learned, Airael smiled mysteriously at Mork.
With this magic, she felt more confident about dealing with Mork.
Not taking too long, knowing the value of time, Airael maintained the current magic while beginning to manifest a new spell.
Fortunately, she had the Staff of Eternity to assist her at this moment; otherwise, she would definitely struggle with such a scene.
The second magic was quickly manifested by Airael.
In an instant, several Golden Magic Circles emerged around Mork.
The Golden Magic Circles surrounded Mork from all directions.
Mork scrutinized the magic circles, frowning slightly.
At a quick glance, these magic circles seemed unremarkable, but anyone who looked closely and understood certain magical knowledge would see their unusual nature.
This was magic belonging to the elves, and it was very pure, very ancient elven magic.
Although human magic learned from the elves, so many years had passed that human magic had changed drastically from its origins, with numerous schools of thought.
Some things had been innovated by human masters to be more suitable for humans themselves.
Not to mention, such magic circles were ancient even among the Elven Race.
Humans could not possibly inherit them.
His gaze then landed on Airael.
Looking at Airael, shrouded in her mysterious cloak, Mork intuitively understood something.
If that were the case, then some things suddenly made sense.
What Airael couldn’t possibly expect was that the revealed Staff of Eternity didn’t expose her identity.
However, the spell she manifested did reveal some of her identity.
Airael completely ignored Mork’s second glance at her.
She stared at Mork and called out, “Chains of Heaven!”
The Golden Magic Circles began to operate.
From the center of each magic circle, a golden chain stretched out.
The chains flickered with blue-white electric light, looking immensely powerful.
The disturbance of the Golden Magic Circles caused Mork to regain his focus.
Looking at the surroundings, Mork’s heart sank.
He discovered his power was being suppressed invisibly.
This was a magic array! A magic array capable of suppressing his power.
Damn—!
Mork’s anger burned fiercely in his heart, his face revealing a look of fury, his eyes glaring at Airael as if ready to spew fire.
Airael noticed Mork’s change in expression.
She looked at Mork and said with a smile, “You just broke Lord Andrew’s magic—let’s see if you can break mine. If you can’t, the outcome for you will be quite miserable.”
Airael spoke confidently.
Mork didn’t doubt it.
The magic that Airael had manifested was even stranger than Andrew’s Stone Golem.
And he had never encountered this magic before.
If Airael hadn’t manifested it, he wouldn’t have known the Elven Race possessed such magic.
However, he wasn’t surprised that the elves had such magic.
Long ago, he had heard of the splendor of the Elven Race.
“A mere trick! Breaking it will be a piece of cake.”
Although he took it very seriously in his heart, Mork spoke with extreme disdain.
“Is that so? Then let me see how you will break it!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the golden chains began to move.
Like serpents slithering out of their holes, they swiftly lunged at Mork.
Faced with the encroaching chains, Mork kept dodging.
When he couldn’t avoid them, he met them head-on with his sword.
Although he could sever the chains with his sword, causing them to dissipate into golden magical light spots, the broken chains would regenerate.
The regenerated chains would immediately rejoin the encirclement.
Mork had also considered breaking free, but although these chains were difficult to attack him directly, they could easily track him.
Nearby, Arthur and Cain watched Mork’s predicament in astonishment.
Especially Arthur, who had no idea that Airael had such a powerful move.
But slowly, the two began to notice something was amiss.
Though the magic seemed formidable, it appeared as if Mork was weakening.
Andrew glanced at the beleaguered Mork before looking at Airael.
His face was filled with shock.
Clearly, he didn’t expect Airael to perform so outstandingly.
This girl is truly remarkable!
What they didn’t know was that although Airael currently had the upper hand, she was extremely anxious.
She had to maintain two spells right now.
Moreover, both spells were of significant level, consuming tremendous energy.
Thus, if Airael couldn’t quickly resolve the battle, even with her impressive magical reserves and the aid of the Staff of Eternity, she would still become lacking in magic power.
At that time, without magic power, even if she had numerous tricks up her sleeve, it would all be in vain.
“Ah! Someone catch him!”
Seeing that she couldn’t take down Mork after a while, Airael couldn’t care about anything else. She shouted loudly, increasing her magical output and adding two more golden magic circles near Mork.
Then, two more golden chains joined in the encirclement against Mork.
